The staff were so friendly and helpful, the whole B&B was nicely decorated in nutral but stylish colours, rooms very clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast offered a variety of items ensuring that most customers would enjoy a good breakfast and staff again very helpful checking that toast and eggs etc were cooked to individuls tastes. to others. Would definately recommend to others and stay again if the occasion arose.

Very comfy bed and luxurious bedding. So much so that we ordered pillows and a quilt from the company that supplies the pub Room was bright, airy and overlooked fields. Air conditioning was very effective. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. However, on closer inspection, the bathroom sink taps could do with a deep clean. Toothpaste on the tap from the previous visitors. The shower was a rainfall shower and was hot and powerful. Plenty of drawer storage but could do with hanging space. There was a hook on the back of the door with two coat hangers. Evening meal in the restaurant was delicious. Breakfast had plenty of choice. Staff very attentive, polite and friendly. Plenty of parking spaces. Lovely, peaceful place to stay. Would highly recommend.

There wasn't anything to dislike

Special thanks to Adam and Hannah for being so hospitable and friendly! A real transformation from the pub that was here before. Excellent location for getting to the University and for being in Wivenhoe. A comfortable room with a great en-suite. It was a bonus to have a smart tv. Delicious menu for lunch, dinner and cocktails.

Extra amenities in the room would have been preferred, such as a wardrobe and an actual kettle rather than just a coffee machine. Clearly still finding their feet in terms of breakfast and fine-tuning the rooms, but I have no doubt this will improve in time.

Exceptional cleanliness, comfort & very friendly & attentive staff.

On the whole, the staff were extremely attentive & helpful, although one or two of the staff were overly gushing, which can come across as false. The room had nowhere to hang clothes other than one hook on the back of the door. Only one chair was provided in the double room. The toilet roll holder was impossibly positioned above and behind the right shoulder. These are all minor criticisms and mentioned only with the intention of helping the management to achieve the absolutely first class rating that they very much deserve...... hence my own rating of "Excellent". I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends & acquaintances.

The hotel is has been beautifully refurbished. The room was really nice and had everything that one needed, coffee, tea, biscuits, and water.

We were woken at 5.30am on the morning of my daughters graduation ceremony which is what we travelled for. We all evacuated to the car park and just stood there not knowing what to do until my partner rang a number and after about 20mins or more the manager arrived and turned it off, we went back to bed and it went off again, spoiling our day as we were then tired. I was disappointed that the Manager, did not even bother to email us to apologise or to even offer some form of compensation.

The inn located just next to a bus stop which facilitate easy reaching. The breakfast was taken in a leisure and comfortable restaurant, served with continental breakfast. I request to add an extra bed for my son on the arrival date. The staff free it for me

There are loose small-sized rocky road just outside the inn's entrance, making us a bit difficult to bring our big baggage into it for our castered baggage. We need to hold and manually carry them one by one into the inn.

I think this is the cleanest place we have ever stayed- it was absolutely spotless. The room was beautifully decorated, and even though it was above a restaurant it was perfectly quiet. The bed was comfortable and the shower was really nice. Breakfast was in the lovely restaurant downstairs. Service was prompt and friendly throughout our stay. Would definitely go back!

Check out is at 10am, which felt a bit early, but this wouldn't put us off staying again.

I arrived really late after a work conference, checked in at around 11pm. I mentioned to the restaurant manager that I hadn’t eaten and asked if they sold crisps. She went away and came back with a platter of snacks for me, grapes, pork scratchings, bread and olives. So I was snacking at midnight in a really gorgeous room, which was so nice after a busy day. Was only there 1 night but wish I could of stayed longer.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing.

We were in room 7, and a wardrobe or somewhere more acceptable to hang your clothes would be appropriate. Also, a detailed explanation of the workings of the aircon unit would be ideal. An email the day before with details of how to gain access on a Monday or Tuesday would have been suitable, not on the morning.

Really impressed with everything, to be honest. Big car park. Welcoming staff. Beautiful room. Good wine. Menu looked good, but we'd arranged to eat elsewhere . Breakfast was well done as continental style. We are going back to eat and stay

Need a sign for carpark ,missed it first time. Netflix wouldn't load on TV. Staff very helpful, but couldn't get it to work.
