It was a cold snowy visit on this occasion but we had a lovely warm room. The hotel and rooms are all very traditional in decor, furniture etc so don't expect a modern trendy or themed hotel. It is much more like staying in a genuine, traditional country house, which is what it was originally. Log fires in the downstairs rooms help the central heating take the edge off the cold but be prepared to but a pullover on. Great breakfast, good dining on the bar menu. The bar again is quite 'traditional' so don't expect anything avant-garde. Take this hotel for what it is and enjoy the sense of history and take in your surroundings. Looking forward to another visit

Excellent stay from arrival to leaving. Hotel excellent building kept immaculate gives a real sense of relaxation. All staff were friendly helpfull accommodating and willing to spendctime talking and informing of facilities services and locale. Dinning in resteraunt was both relaxing and enjoyable. Service was timely without rushing or forgetting about you. Menu not extensive ( my preference so happy eith this) but ensured a suitable range of choice. Cooked and presented very well indeed proving choice and quality of produce used. Wine list and bar offered plenty of choice again with thought out range on offer. Wine list suitably priced and provided quality. Room extremely clean comfortable and well serviced over the 4 days/3nights. And very much in keeping with the hotels overall presentation. Many interesting features that add to the grandeur of country house hotels while maintaining modern conveniences tastefully and sensibly applied.p

Location amazing. Staff were lovely and friendly The food was absolutely superb The history of the place was fascinating The cleanliness of both the interior and exterior was spot on The shower was superb, easy to use and very invigorating. The grounds were extensive and fascinating to explore
Our room was quite small and as the TV was on a stand, much lower than the bed, it was impossible for both of us to watch TV comfortably, especially as there are no chairs to sit on, apart from the dressing table chair. When we visit next time we will know to choose a larger room, however, it has not put us off returning.

Stayed in Standard Double. Very comfortable room. Portable fan in room which was great in the heat. Main lobby, corridors and sitting rooms were covered in historical information about the Dam Busters who were stationed there during WW2 which was fascinating. Old world charm. The grounds were so beautiful and the children in our party loved playing outside on the lawn.
The restaurant was a let down two nights running.. Meals took forever to arrive or were wrong. Tables did not get cleared. Twice our party was told it had not paid for drinks when we had. The wait staff were doing their best and were very apologetic but at the prices they charge, you expect better.

The hotel is full of history . Gardens are beautiful. Relaxing atmosphere . Surrounding areas are good to visit .
Buffet breakfast on two mornings of our stay were not good. Food stations were inappropriate areas . The second morning the restruant was short staffed and food choice was low . I think this was due to wedding guests staying over the night before and they were served breakfast in a different area . I got the impression most of the staff had been allocated to serve the wedding guests ? Which I totally understand . Maybe hotel needs to have more staff on duty when there is a Wedding booked. The third morning of our stay we received table service breakfast which was much better .

Clean room. Food in the evening was lovely, but at breakfast mushrooms and baked beans were cold. Great car parking. Check out - good. Lovely property with beautiful grounds. Staff in the bar area were friendly.
Check in - poor - we felt like we were an inconvenience. Lift will not operate with two people and luggage. This was not mentioned to us at check in. Room was warm, but unfortunately there was a very loud noise from a large fan and you could hear it even when the windows were closed. Had a very poor nights sleep. Only had less than half a toilet roll in the bathroom, no hook for bath robe and the bath tapes were very difficult to turn on due to the positioning of the shower screen.

The breakfast was lovely except when it changed to a buffet style and many things were off the menu. Could have gone to a budget hotel if I wanted a buffet breakfast.
No explanation for buffet breakfast on the 17/4 and did not like the brusque manor of head waiter who did not prioritise his clients - even pulling a table across passage way in and out of dining room so people could not pass through easily especially with poor mobility. The mood of the staff in the dining room was severely depleted on that morning.

It’s an amazing building. The food I had in the restaurant was excellent. The grounds were also very nice if not a little run down.
The setting is amazing but I didn’t get the feeling in the restaurant that it was special. There were extremely friendly members of staff and one was a tad indifferent. Maybe it’s something with the layout, not sure. The bar is also missing something. A bit of character I think. The menu was limited but it was very good and I think reasonably priced. Reception, I think it’s a bit poor to have a torn off piece of paper as your room card. Nearly all hotels have printed cards. This is your first impression of the hotel. So I think reception could be generally improved.

The hotel is exquisite, set in lovely grounds. The staff were all brilliant, very friendly and helpful. The room was amazing, large with a great view over the wonderful gardens. There was plenty of tea and coffee, including decaf tea, which was great. The bed was super comfortable. The dinner was excellent. The waitress was very helpful and took care that our order was right. The food was delicious. The breakfast was superb. The drinks in the bar after our meal were great and we played Trivial Pursuit which was super fun. Loved everything about our stay and we'll be coming back soon!

Arriving at Woodhall Spa we asked a lady walking her dog for directions. She replied: "The entrance is just over the road on your right. It's beautiful!" On thanking her she replied "It's beautiful!". Two beautifuls, and she was right! Set in wonderful gardens, the hotel is modernised early twentieth century splendour, Lots of space and high ceilings. So relaxing. We had only booked for one night after travelling from Wales to attend a wedding anniversary celebration. But indelibly inked-in is a "Must return for a longer stay.” The staff were friendly and helpful, We had an evening bar meal with friends and we all agreed it was exceptional, Breakfast was good too. As ex-RAF it made it all that much more special. I’m still buzzing "
