The staff at The Crown were very friendly and helpful . Our room was lovely with a very comfortable king sized bed and nice touches like fluffy bath robes and towels and cowshed bath products . The breakfasts on both days was delicious . It is set in the beautiful town of Woodstock with lots of places to eat and drink and easy access to Blenheim Palace - a gate very near the pub .

Although not The Crown’s fault parking is an issue as you have to pay again first thing in the morning at the meter. A nice touch is loose tea and fresh coffee and milk in your room but I would have loved biscuits to go with this. . The cushions on our bed had definitely seen better days and I would have removed them rather than have them there . An extra hand towel and tissues would have been useful too . Just little things but can make a difference!

The room was large and the bed was enormous. If you like a soft bed, this place is for you. I would have preferred a bit more firmness. There was a great bath - all toiletries supplied were lovely. The bath sheets and good quality bedding helped things feel a little more luxurious - as did the plentiful amount of pillows. a nice touch.

We found the breakfast a bit disappointing - it wasn’t very hot and the bacon was soggy - we prefer crispy bacon. I did enjoy the smoked salmon on toast - I would have appreciated the toast being warmer though.

Our deluxe double room was very stylish and spacious, with a large king bed and separate seating area. The bathroom is a good size and very clean. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful — they could not have been nicer. Extra touches like your choice of loose teas and milk in your room, bathrobes and great toiletries really added to our stay. Breakfast is well cooked and there is a good choice of options from the restaurant’s menu. Blenheim Park and Palace is walking distance, and even though Woodstock is small, there is a good assortment of restaurants, pubs and shops available.

The Wi-Fi is unsecured. There was a bit of noise from the bar while it was open. There is some wear and tear on the carpets and some surfaces in the room.

room was big with nice sofa and great bed with super linens shower great didn’t use the bath . very quiet at back of hotel . bar and restaurant areas spacious but cosy and food delish even though limited menu on Mondays made us a great mixed salad not on menu and breakfast excellent quality . staff were very friendly knowledgeable and attentive . very happy would def stay again in room 4.

only thing was it is dark in the bathroom can’t put makeup on properly in the mirror not enough light .

The room was excellent. Great facilities, a huge comfy bed with big pillows, a nice lounge area and a bathroom with all that you would need for a great stay. Breakfast was great too. Unfortunately we had an early start on the first day so had to miss brekkie as it starts at 9am.

It can get a bit noisy, despite secondary glazing if you are on the road side. It's only a problem if you want a lie in. One o the blinds in our room was also broken which can easily be fixed and then you are able to let light fully in or have it all blacked out.

The staff was extremely helpful. When we checked in, the woman at the desk brought a fan/cooling system into our room; she carried it up one flight of stairs.

One issue that will effect UK hotels going forward (since things are getting hotter in the UK in summer now) is the lack of air conditioning. This hotel has only one room with a/c, and we didn't get it. The staff was extremely helpful in bring up a fan/cooler, but overall, this is an issue that all the hotels in the UK should consider.

Perfect location, outstanding customer service, magnificent interiors and not forgetting the sumptious breakfast. The staff are so accomodating and always there to help. I made a request to have our room transformed into a romantic experience - boy, iy was the best reception. I even requested to check in a bit earlier & our room was ready for 1300hrs instead of 1500hrs. We loved the stay so much, i promised to come back - for longer this time

What's there not to like?

lovely old pub, nice and warm, very spacious room and bed. Breakfast was delicious, just enough choice which was perfect. The shower was spacious with plenty of hot water. Really nice to have Cowshed toiletries and big, fluffy dressing gowns and towels.

Not the fault of the property but the road outside is very noisy at times. we could hear the folks in the bar but that all stopped around 10pm so was no issue.

We loved the atmosphere in the public rooms. The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. The breakfast was excellent. The location was ideal for us at it was right in the centre of Woodstock. Woodstock is a delightful little town with lots of interesting and independent shops. The Crown is also within walking distance of Blenheim Palace, as well as many other local attractions.

The place could have been cleaner and better serviced. The choice of meals was very limited and the menu didn't change whilst we stayed for three nights.

Super friendly staff, great food and drink in the pub downstairs, the room was really roomy and comfortable, and the products fantastic. great value and quality.

Not a complaint for us but I would note there are quite a lot of steps to get up to the rooms, something to note for people with mobility issues or heavy bags. Didn’t affect our stay though.
