Located in the very attractive area of Clifton, the hotel was an easy walk to all the main York attractions. Our room and the rest of the hotel were stunning - the attention to detail was in a class of it's own. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Being able to park in York was very unusual - the staff organised the space to fit in as many cars as possible. There was a charge, but we felt it was worth it and it was great to be able to leave the car until 3.00pm on the day we checked out. There was nothing to criticise - breakfast was delicious, the bed was comfortable and the shower efficient. The room was as clean as it was beautiful to look at. We wouldn't hesitate to rebook ourselves and to recommend to others.

From the customer service and attentiveness of the staff to the actual hotel in general, we could not be more pleased. The hotel is well maintained and clean, the room itself along with the bar, breakfast area and other facilities are absolutely gorgeous, spacious and set out with the upmost comfort AND style. A true hidden gem. The staff members we encountered went above and beyond, they were all really helpful and attentive, and lovely people in general. This hotel has everything an out of town visitor to York would need and want - an added bonus that it is at most a mere twenty minute walk to all of the tourist destinations. Should we return to York, we will absolutely be returning here and highly recommend it to everyone.

It is £15 a day to use the car park on a street that is permit holders only. We found this to be expensive, even for the area, so we made the decision to park elsewhere for the duration of our stay and walk back and forth to the hotel from where we had parked. For this reason, and this alone, I have given a 9/10 rating as it would have been a 10/10.

My room was up in the garret in the old servants quarters and was really cosy and charming. I loved the dark & moody interior design and particularly the antique furniture which was very pretty and added a lot of character and warmth to the room. Although the bathroom was very small the shower was generous and again the interior design gave it a real wow factor. Bed was comfy and room was quiet. I thought it was good value at £79 B&B

Nothing (Unless I'm really nit picking! In which case i didn't like a lot of the art work (and frames) throughout the hotel. Clearly the designer was aiming for quirky/edgy but i think they missed the mark and mostly they just looked naff / cheap, especially against the rest of the interior design.)

Awesome venue, theme is beautifully executed, super friendly staff, really easy going environment. It's a really good quiet location, round the corner from the city center. I would definitely advise you to visit. I booked it on very short notice and it was the cheapest place on booking.com I 100% do not regret it. It looks great, inside and out, such a great presence the minute you walk up to the building. And the amenities are awesome, I haven't had such a big TV in a hotel room even when I've paid 4 times the price per night!

The only thing I did not like was that you had to pay £15 for 24 hours of parking. Whilst not usual for hotels, in York I do understand and that actually is a very good rate compared to anywhere else with 24 hour parking in york. Especially York being jam packed wherever you go to park!

The staff were amazing and definitely the highlight of the hotel 🏩. The location is super amazing 😁 and the room and decor is stunning ♥. The shower 🚿 gels you get in the room is the best I've ever experienced 😊 and I've stayed in 5 star 🌟 chains. The staff especially the Italian 🇮🇹 ladies at reception 📶 were so attentive, kind and friendly and even the two lads at night were really kind. I had a few issues which were sorted straight away and that is when you know that the customer service is awesome. It is so easy to be good when nothing happens but when something is not 100% and you get it sorted 😊 that's when you know that you've got a fantastic hotel 🏩 and amazing staff. Honestly, the staff and decor really make this place amazing and it's the small details like having a Tassimo in the room that really sets this hotel 🏩 apart. The staff really do deserve a rise and honestly I would do anything to make sure that they always stay as their passion and love for the business is unparalleled. This hotel 🏩 is deffo not a 3 star 🌟 hotel 🏩 it is a minimum of 4 stars ✨ and has more potential. Keep your staff and deffo keep up the good work 😊 xx

Lovely period property full of character. Quirky decor. Such a comfortable four-poster bed; I slept really well. Peaceful, leafy location (I could hear a tawny owl hooting at night), but only a short walk into the centre of York. Kind, helpful staff. Easy check in and out. I paid a bit more for a balcony, which was furnished very nicely.

I'm being picky... having to pay for parking on top of the cost of the room (this seems to be the case everywhere in York). One of the cups in my room was dirty. Red light on the TV couldn't be switched off, which is a bit annoying after lights-out (all hotel rooms seem to have this!!!)

We really liked the decor and traditional furniture. I think it was a bold move by the owners regarding the decor, but it works. We also really liked the furnishings, ornaments and the art work. It was clear that a lot of thought has gone into the refurbishment of the hotel. The bar area was very nice, as was the breakfast room. The breakfasts were very good, with a varied selection. I liked the idea of being provided with a Menu Card with various options one could choose from for breakfast the following morning. The room was tastefully decorated, with traditional furniture and the bed was comfortable. Tea & Coffee making facilities, with snacks was a nice touch. The hotel was very well located within a 10 minute walk to the York centre, which was great and the hotel receptionist was very helpful. Would recommend.

Nothing really - only minor point was because the bedroom had been painted in such deep colours, it made it look a little dark, which could be improved with stronger lighting. However, we still liked it, because of the traditional feel. It would have been better if the parking for hotel guests had been free or slightly less.

Clementine's was a real gem for our stay in York. Our plans changed last minute and we needed a 3-night midweek stay. Most other recommended hotels were booked up one or more nights, but Clementine's was available at a reasonable rate. The location is outstanding. It was a 7-10 minute walk to the Minster and other locations in historic York, with many restaurants, pubs, shops, and coffee bars along the way. The residential neighborhood was lovely and quiet, with several historic homes/locations nearby. We loved the design style of the townhouse, and breakfasts were delicious. A sweet touch was the local famous chocolate bar included on the tea tray (Kit Kats!). A bonus for the place is the pretty enclosed garden at the back with plenty of seating.

The soundproofing between floors wasn't great, but other guests were generally quiet in the evenings.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, everything worked. The breakfast was very good, even though you had to decide the evening before. Hotel was as stated a 10 minute walk from the City Centre.

I may have missed it on the booking form but the room we had was very small with the bed up against one wall. There was about a foot between the end of the bed and the window and about three foot between the bed and the third wall, the bathroom/shower room was also small. Also be aware that parking is limited, and again I must have missed it on the booking form but was an extra charge on arrival. It would have been good to opt to pay for cost up front. Parking can result in cars being double stacked. Having said all this though the stay was thoroughly enjoyable and I'd recommend Clementine's. Just check which room you're getting.

The staff were absolutely fabulous, couldn't do enough for us and were ultra-flexible with everything. They even upgraded our room because they were concerned the room we'd booked might get too hot in the good weather (very kind). Decor was fantastic, even a little gothic, which was really cool. Breakfast was lovely too. They recommended a free walking tour with David Haw - who was excellent too.

Having to pay £15 to park on-site. I did because I was unfamiliar with the area and there was no on-street parking available nearby. I do appreciate £15 for 24 Hours in an (almost) city centre isn't unreasonable (and they were more than happy for me to leave my car there from arrival, even if we were still many hours from checkin), but when paying more than £100 for the room, I'd generally expect parking to be included. Every other hotel in this part of the city charged the same, though Clementines did at least have their own car park, rather than simply an 'arrangement' with some NCP, as was the case with some others. It wouldn't stop me staying there again (because everything else was fabulous), but would tempt me to do my research and find somewhere free nearby.
