Tru by Hilton Auburn

The breakfast was good, just enough variety. The little high chair on wheels was nice for my granddaughter. The lady putting out the food was very sweet! We enjoyed the large lobby and had fun playing pool. Very inviting! Check in/out was easy. Rooms were quiet, even though it was a very busy weekend (Rodeo and Bo Bikes Bama).

There was broken glass outside in the pool area, which was a big concern! We think it came from broken light bulbs in the cabana area. The venting from the dryers blows directly out to the cabana (a design flaw) and smelled bad as well as leaving lint all over the seating. Umbrellas would have been nice in the pool area. The staff seemed to spend A LOT of time on their phones (cleaning staff and front desk personnel), which I felt was unprofessional, although they responded when we needed something.

This was my first stay at a Tru by Hilton hotel. The hotel concept is very modern with rooms aesthetically designed to be very modern and simplistic. No coffee makers here, minimal closet space, etc. it makes the rooms appear much more open and roomier than a typical hotel. Beds were comfortable and pillows were soft. It was an enjoyable stay.

Through no fault of the staff, the computer was down for several hours at check in. The very apologetic staff had to simply take us to our room and let us in. That meant no keys of course. Nothing serious, merely an inconvenience of time as we were in town for a social event and it causes us to run a little late.

The location is great right off of I-85 but far enough away that you couldn't hear the noise from the traffic. I would also attribute that to the wall insulation as well because I didn't hear guest on either side of me and right out my door was the elevator. I didn't hear anything which made for a restful night of sleep. I loved the vibrant, fun colors in the lobby area and all the different kinds of seating. Nice pool area. The bed was very comfortable. It's a platform bed and is a lot lower than what I'm used to but I slept very well. I didn't do the breakfast because I'm not a breakfast person. Very clean place.

No coffee/tea maker, no microwave and no closet to store luggage.

The hotel was conveniently located. The room was tidy, smelled clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff during checkout was super friendly and we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast.

The check-in clerk upon arrival was not friendly and seemed annoyed to have to check us in. She did not give a good first impression.

The staff was so nice and helpful. The people that do come to work are excellent people. We like the amenities and the room was really nice. It had a modern feel and had everything we needed. It was our first time at a Tru hotel, but we will be back.

There were no towels at the pool and our toilet wouldn't flush right. We called for maintenance to come fix it and then left for the day. When we returned it was still broken. However the front desk moved us to a new room when we let them know. The entire afternoon housekeeping staff called out so it wasn't their fault. I mean the people who were there were doing the best they could. The only other thing was no trash bags in the trash cans just plastic liners. I mean everything else was so clean, this just seemed weird and not hygienic.

The property was very clean and the amenities were very fun. I liked the lobby area for relaxing and playing games. The staff was very nice and the location is great for someone who wants to stay in the area of Auburn. Tons of good food close by.

I loved that there was a water machine for me to refill my cup with ice and water. The staff was friendly. The room and lobby were spotless. Check in was quick and easy. The parking lot was well lit, and it was conveniently located to auburn campus.

The mattress was a little firm for my liking but pillows were comfy. The walls were a little thin so on the first night I could hear the neighbors. The next night I used a noise maker and it was much better. The wall unit AC seemed the struggle to keep the room as cool as I like it at night.

The staff checking me in actually gave me choices for which room I wanted........this has been the first time in a very long time that I have been asked this. This kindness was very appreciated.

When I was packing my car I had to walk not once but twice past the maintenance man who was very nice but, was smoking a cigarettes ...I was dressed for work and it was disappointing to have to walk through this smoke and worry about smelling like I had smoked a cigarettes. Wish this had not happened!!!

I loved the decor, comfort, amenities, and price.

I literally showed the front desk attendant, Brandon, my reservation. I also explained to him that I put one room in my name and one room in my husband's name and pointed it out on my reservation. He told me that he only saw one reservation under my name and nothing under the other name on my paperwork. I called booking.com and he left. The agent then called the hotel and the phone rang at least 15 times before he reappeared to answer. My husband came in and he instantly found my reservation. Between going to the car and room a few times he was rarely attending the front desk..

Family inviting. Pool table and board games. Lobby was very inviting and comfy. Breakfast was good. Friendly staff. Great choices at the mini store/ snack station. Lighting in the bathroom was great on the mirror. That was a plus for me.

No chairs in the room and no hot tub.
