Dame Fortune's Cottage Court

I was lucky to find this place since I’m only passing through from Saint Louis to Austin. such a cute room and area. I was able to walk everywhere I needed or wanted to. Andie and Micheal are extremely responsive and sweeter than apple pie. I felt so safe in the court I kept forgetting to lock the door! Dame Fortune’s Cottage Court is a rare and beautiful property. It’s 30 minutes out of the way of my route and it would still be worth it if it were 2x the distance.

We liked everything about Dames Fortune Cottage Court. After driving for 650 miles we pulled in the parking area and was greeted by a nice gentleman inviting us to "Get out of that car and stretch your legs. It looks like you've been driving a while." Just a very friendly, helpful person. The room was great complete with sitting chairs, local water and character.

It was a strange, interesting, pleasant experience to stay here. The neon sign only says "Cottage Court". We think the place is run by a pair of cats ;) as we never actually saw humans with the exception of a teenager who was dropped off at the laundry room as we were packing the car for departure. I do NOT have texting capability. There was no one in the office nor anywhere around when we arrived at 7 pm for check-in. Two cats (well-fed and obviously well-cared for) greeted us and escorted me as I roamed around looking for people. I was angry and began to research other possible locations to stay when my companion decided to text the number left for deliveries. She was told to look in the mailbox and indeed, there was an envelope with my name on it and the key to our room. The room was clean and comfortable. The toilet is a bit of a tight squeeze for a plus-size person, but doable. The shower was WONDERFUL! The 1950s ambiance was delightful, in fact, the whole experience seemed to be enchanted, with the cats who were ever watchful, never obtrusive, and seem to run a well-maintained property. The location is on the outskirts of town which pleased us greatly. Downtown Hot Springs is more honky tonk than we ever expected from a National Park and there was some kind of festival going on which featured very loud (albeit pleasant) music, crowds and a large section of the central area blocked off into a pedestrian mall.

I would suggest a small departure from the mid-century modern, however, add a microwave! Oh also, a phone number or a note or something to indicate communication by telephone (not just texting) is possible. I almost missed this experience due to poor communication.

The owner and staff were wonderful! The location and layout of the property made two ladies feel safe. The beautiful flowers, nice lawn, and picnic tables made it so much more appealing and inviting than other similar small properties in the area. Loved parking right in front of our door.

Having no shower curtain allowed water to get on the bathroom floor, but there were plenty of towels. The bathroom mirror could use a little more light.

I was fortunate enough to arrive when the owner was in the office along with one of the staff. They were both incredibly welcoming and friendly, and I enjoyed the conversation. They offered a list of recommended places to visit while I was there since I was new to the area and provided me with a contact number in case I needed anything. My room was exactly as pictured on line, Cody and cute, super clean, and the prices are so good you'd be insane not to book with them. I very much enjoyed my stay here and will be returning in a couple months.

I wouldn't say there was anything I didn't like, I really have zero complaints.

This is our go-to accomodations when we visit Hot Springs! The rooms are so cute and extremely clean. The location is also perfect, super close to bathhouse row but JUST far enough away to not have deal with all the hustle & bustle there. The bed wasn't as comfy as I remember, maybe they got new mattresses or maybe I'm just used to my purple mattress and I'm pregnant.. It didn't sully our stay though. It's also super nice you park right in front of your room door! The owners are so kind & welcoming and don't bother you. If you stay here, walk across to Bailey's for a delicious burger & shake!

I don't believe there's anything I don't like about this little boutique motel!

It was clean and affordable. It was 1/4 mile down from end of Main St and was exactly what I expected. Could walk to downtown but only during day as have to walk past creepy closed Velda Rose hotel.

I arrived and office was closed with a note on the door that they would be in and out so I called and was told I received a text an hour before with contact less check in and check out. It was an out of state number with a suspicious link to click so would never have opened it. I don't mind the process, just wish I would have received it sooner and it had a subject line to clue me in.

While other guests of the wedding we attended in town stayed elsewhere, we opted for a place just slightly away from the tourist area. We appreciated the peacefully quiet area plus free, sometimes shady parking. The tasty juice truck onsite served a delicious non-tuna sandwich (vegan?) and healthy juices, too—a great option after many unhealthy choices nearby.

The bed and chairs could be more comfortable, which the proprietor could remedy, I imagine. This improvement would've made my rating a 10/10 instead of a 9/10.

Our noisy, checked in after 10pm, left the car lights on pointing into our window, neighbor in room 7...slammed doors, loud talking, bleep car 8xs. Please, communicate with clients about late check in NOISE.!! Woke us both up and we had a bike race at 8am. Grrrr 1. Please offer black out shades for windows. 2. Also, needs a shower curtain...whole room was soaked after shower... 3. Communicate with guests about 10pm cutoff for noise

Cleanliness was exceptional. The bathroom was spotless. The room was very clean. The television is streaming so you choose your own programs no cable. We watched some old programs and enjoyed it. The WiFi seemed slow the first night we were there and we could not watch much. The second night was fine. The owner and lady who runs the office were both friendly and helpful. We would stay there again Location is close to downtown and other attractions. It’s is easy to find your way around. We liked the noise cancelling machine and fell asleep to the rain sound both nights.

Only one hook for clothes. There was no closet in our room or hangers. We purchased an over the door hanger at the Dollar store and used it. There was a small refrigerator but it did not get cold enough for our ice.
