Great location and value in Encinitas, close to 2 beaches and several restaurants and coffee shops. This is an older hotel that is going through a remodel. Staff is great, helpful, and someone at the front desk at all times.

New bed was very hard and did not sleep well, older beds were much more comfortable. Bathroom door automatically closes and it would be nice if it would stay open as the ceiling fan does work well to dissipate moisture. Shower water pressure was very low.

We had a great experience here. The hotel is nice and they are even making it better with renovations. One lady in particular who was at the front desk on Sunday and Monday was very hospitable and congenial. I had questions. Her and the cleaning lady (who was working on Sunday) helped me out at the front desk. On Sunday We checked out at 11am and the same lady checked us out. I can't remember her name yet She made our weekend enjoyable with her friendly and helpful attitude.

We love coming here! It's a long 7 hour drive for us, but when we want to go to the beach, this is where we stay. We have stayed in several different rooms and they have all been great. Our only problem this time was the bed.

We have been to this property several times. The ONLY complaint I have is that the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. We have not had that problem here before. We will come back, put hopefully that bed will get replaced.

Ap called before check in time to determine what time we were arriving, he was welcoming warm and accommodating. He explained the deposit process and got us checked in quite efficiently. We stayed from a Friday to a tuesday, and adored the location, the room was so charming and clean, the housekeepers were super nice and accommodating as well, making sure we always had clean towels and even swept up all of our sand. Ap was kind enough to discuss our daily plans and give me input and tips to enjoy the activity. He even was kind enough to keep the pool open a few minutes late so that we could enjoy an evening swim. We will definitely be back soon!!!

I initially found the price to be a bit high, the location and friendly service made up for it. We were not happy with the setup in the bathroom, the top flusher on the toilet was under the countertop, which made it difficult to push to flush.The TV remote did not work too well, but other than that zero complaints!!

For the price (under 100 dollars, including the tax) it was a great value. The room was very nice. There wasn't much of interest on the property grounds, but there were plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Also shops (didn't go inside the shops)

At night there is a lot of noise from a train going by, and occasionally super loud cars going by. The place is near the train tracks and a big road, so it's understandable.

All of the staff were absolutely lovely. The room was nice and spacious and clean. We had a little fridge in the room and a little table so that was a nice touch and helped us to feel more at home!

Not the fault of the hotel at all but there's construction ongoing outside of the hotel and as we didn't drive it made it quite difficult to order an Uber as the road was closed. The pool was freezing too and it had dead wasps in it lol but very minor issues and would not put us off staying again at all.

We don't stay at Econolodge much, but needed a nice pricepoint at this location for a longer than usual stay. So I wasn't expecting much. Especially being this close to the beach and at this price. I had to stay for a couple nights and then switch hotels, and after a terrible experience with Roadway Inn up the road (bad rooms, smelly, very noisy, wifi inadequate to do my work), I was so relieved to be able to get the Econolodge for the rest of my stay. I highly recommend this hotel. Very nice area of Encinitas (Leucadia?) and very close to the beach with clean, up-to-date rooms, excellent wifi, and quiet. Staff was great, too. Breakfast is meager, but you probably want to try Pannakin up the road for coffee and breakfast anyway. The Stone Steps is only a couple blocks away to see an awesome sunset.

Hotel staff very friendly and brought extra towels and hair dyer when we asked. They also allowed us to switch rooms as first room smelled moldy.

The hotel is under construction so the parking lot and some of the rooms near us were cluttered and a bit noisy.

This place is a total steal !! 5 minute walk to Stone Steps Beach and then if you walk about 8-10 more minutes you're at Moonlight Beach! No need to worry about driving to the beach or finding parking near the beach. I'm not from California so my main thing i wanted to do was go to the beach. Staff is super kind and helpful. Its exactly what i wanted, something affordable, clean and near the beach. This is a 20 unit hotel so its nice and quiet and to the point. My room had a nice king size bed and had a vaulted ceiling which gave it a nice spacious feeling.

The only thing was that the coffee maker needed an upgrade, was a bit dated and didn't work too well.

Some pillows were “yellow” and appeared dirty. The other pillows were white though. Luckily I took my own pillow. Room missing coffee maker, had to get one from front desk. No biggie. Staff was apologetic. And bed was too stiff for my liking.
