The location where the river flowed into the ocean was spectacular. Many flocks of birds to watch from our private balcony. Room was large, comfortable and clean. The restaurant on the property also had the great view and the food was very good.

Staff could have been a bit more helpful. We were looking for nail services and they didn't know. They were polite, however. I also wish they had told us about the Farmers' Market which we saw when we left on Saturday morning. It was right in front of the hotel. We would have like to have gone if we had known about it. They also did not volunteer suggestions about places to visit, i.e. the Beach you reference below. We didn't know about it.

The location, right off Hwy 1, is central to the town. The food market is across the street along with two gas stations and a specialty market with a deli is right next door. The rooms have a balcony overlooking the ocean, fireplace and large walk in shower (plus a microwave, mini fridge, and kcup coffee maker) that made the room feel special. They are pet friendly, and offered complimentary coffee and mini muffins in the lobby in the morning. Vue, a restaurant that shared the parking lot, is open for dinner only and didn't require reservations.

The bed was just okay. Mattress felt squishy, bed squeaked. The facility was clean but the facade appeared tired and in need of a renovation.

Spectacular location right on the beach. Are unit felt like a tiny apartment and nicely furnished for comfort. Large spacious bathroom good for two people. I love having a microwave and refrigerator so we could make some snacks. Bed was super comfortable and I travel a lot for work so I know hotel beds. Plenty warm in the room as there was a space heater and also thermostat so we were very cozy. Good towels

Would have liked to be offered fresh towels and amenities each day even though we did not ask for any maid service. Coffee is not very good that is provided and I brought my own. Need more than tiny bottles of water

Directly overlooking the river estuary and headlands reserve. Right next to a well stocked market. Walkable location and dog friendly. Not too far up the coast from SFO. Very spacious room and deck. Soaking tub and king bed. Fridge and microwave.

Fireplace didn’t work, sheets were ripped and no spare blanket. No room refreshing during our stay. No way to make good coffee or tea.

I loved my room right where the river and ocean meet. There are so many hiking trails right on the ocean nearby. Everyone at the hotel and in town was amazing. The lady at Four Eyed Books was so nice and told me where I could see mama seals and their pups. Saw a whale and baby right off shore (May). I loved sitting on the balcony and watching all of the many birds fly by. It was a wonderful trip!!!

The view is incredible - which I wasn't expecting. We quickly booked a room because dog-sitting overlapped with our trip, so we needed a hotel that was pet-friendly. Last minute, dog-sitting fell through but we kept the room and Breakers and I'm so glad we did. The room is huge (we booked a king room) and floors don't have carpet which is particularly nice if we'd brought a pet. Each room has a private patio with very nice outdoor chairs with cushions. You can see a stream and the ocean! We sat outside during the day (to see the ocean and wildlife) and at night (to see the stars). The view exceeded our expectations, it is excellent seeing the ocean from your room.

While the room didn't have ac, we actually didn't mind (just keep the windows open to get that beautiful ocean breeze). And the countertop in the bathroom is unusually tall (I stood on my tiptoes to wash my face at the sink). But these are both not a huge deal, we throughly enjoyed our stay and will go back to Breakers.

The staff at the front desk started the weekend off great, with her warm, genuine welcome and helpful information about the area. The room was amazing with exceptional views of the ocean. The room was well appointed, and the fireplace made the room romantic for our anniversary weekend. We will return again for sure!

The location is excellent. Our room had a balcony overlooking the bay. Very pleasant. The room is beautifully decorated, very comfortable chairs, bed. I loved the walk-in shower. The jacuzzi tub was very nice. Gualala is very small, but this hotel is located next to a grocery store and across from a strip mall with an excellent bakery, etc.

The room has poor air circulation, so smells stale. The mini-fridge also needs deodorizing.

The view was awesome. Your staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was beautiful. I asked if the fireplace was wood burning and the staff gave us a complimentary fire log. The room had a homey atmosphere.

The beds weren't as comfortable as I would have liked. You could tell it had been around awhile because it was a little lumpy and it creaked.

This hotel has one of the top views on the Pacific Coast! lots and lots of bird life and even a lone harbor seal in the lagoon below, with 15-foot waves crashing on the beach.

There doesn’t seem to be much insulation between the floors, and we could hear our upstairs neighbors stomping around. recommend asking for a room on the top floor.
