The room had hardwood floors which were nice and clean. The bed was soft and a bit worn, but we still slept well. The AC kept us cool during our entire stay. Kate and crew were helpful with any tips we needed for "things to do". We even were able to enjoy the outdoor relaxing chair spot. Evenings were quiet and the place was tidy and comfy for the few days we were there.

The bathroom was a bit outdated and looked to be recently remodeled. It reminded me of my grandparent's place as a kid. The shower could have been tidier, but we loved the makeup nook that they had. The towels appeared to be clean, but since they were colored, you could see they had bleach stains. Maybe white sets would be better than dark-colored sets?

Charming, quaint 1930s motel, semi renovated, wonderful staff, great location. We’d stay again. You need reasonable expectations - it’s cheap for San Clemente. They’ve made it cute with extras like a tiny picnic area and dog area, nice linens, table/stools in room. But it’s old and not soundproofed. The main negative is it’s on a busy street and noise is significant. The positives are: super kind staff, 5 mins from T-Street beach, awesome bagel/coffee cafe next door.

Traveled from one hour away just to have some alone time and this place made it well worth it! Can only speak of the suite since we chose it as it wasn't much more than any other room. It did not disappoint and we will definitely be back again to stay in the suite. Room was terrific, view was ok, staff was great. Highly recommend based on a one night stay in the suite.

The motel is along a busy street, the suite being the closest to the street and along the sidewalk where people walk and ride by all day & night, but it's to be expected when you stay here. Didn't affect our stay.

The room and decor was definitely older, but clean. The staff and management were incredible! Wonderful service and the location could not have suited our needs better. We were in town for a wedding and with its central location, everything was handy and nearby!!! The staff and willingness to provide great service was the highlight. Jenny was great at check in and beyond. Unfortunately, I did not get the name of the other person who was so very helpful. Thinking the manager or owner.

What a lovely place to stay, convenient to restaurants and shops and the beach, relaxed atmosphere. I stayed in the suite for three nights, and was sad to leave, I enjoyed it so much. The manager was very helpful and a lovely person, and clearly runs a very good operation. The room was clean and pleasant. I will definitely stay there again, and highly recommend it.

This is not a negative against the Patriot, just be aware the location is on the main highway through San Clemente, so of course there is traffic noise. I knew that when I booked it, so be prepared for that. But inside the room at night, it was not a problem and didn't disrupt my sleep.

What a lovely place to stay. The location is within walking distance from restaurants and the beach. It was clean, comfortable and I loved having a hot bath. The staff were exceptional and extremely helpful.

Good location. I was attending a wedding at the Casa Romantica and could walk there and back. very close to a supermarket, Starbucks, the main pier, and many shops. I didn’t have a car and didn’t need one.

at night it could be a bit loud as the rooms are quite close to the road and the parking lot.

Quiet even though it was on a Main Street. Close to the beach and the famous Fisherman’s restaurant in the pier and many restaurants on the Main Street within walking distance. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Had microwave and fridge. Air conditioning unit.

Not sufficient parking for the number of rooms. Had to park on the street. No hairdryer or coffee machine. However, the Bagel Shack is right next door. very good.

Clean room, a little small and cramped. Comfy bed. Staff was not available when we wanted to check in (1 p.m.) and we had to come back, but it was not a big deal. It's about a mile walk to the ocean/beach, but well worth the walk.

Room was pretty small, parking spaces cramped. We were able to park off-street.
