We loved the location. Everything was within a few blocks and we were able to wander the town easily. The room was simple but clean and comfortable. My son loved his bed and said he was very comfy, to the point that he preferred to loll there over hopping in the pool. I appreciated the fact that instead of a bar of soap, we had liquid hand soap... so much better! The sound machine in the room was a great touch, and using it at night we didn't hear anything while we slept. We also appreciated the breakfast pastries from a local bakery, as those bakeries are part of what makes Solvang so special. What a lovely touch. The check-in clerk saw us looking at brochures and came around to give us a couple of magazines with more localized information, which was very nice. We will 100% return.

We were really happy with everything. If I have to nitpick, I'd say that maybe adding a towel bar into the empty space between the shower and the toilet would be an easy upgrade, as you would be able to reach your towel more easily without making a mess.

The best thing about this spot was the location. It’s in the perfect location for everything in town. reasonable walking distance for everything.

The only issue we had here, whether it was because I had the 2nd story corner or just the whole facility, is that it’s an old building so the walls and windows are really thin. we could hear every motorcycle that passed by day and night. definitely was the most annoying thing to hear while in the room. Also we couldn’t hear the people next door sneeze, cough, and mumble. The bed frame needed to get every bolt and nut tighten because it squeaked and after angle and movement of the bed.

Perfect location - the King Frederik Inn is right in the middle of Solvang. The pool was never really busy so it was great to take lovely dip. The staff were courteous and very helpful. Breakfast was simple, but great - a choice of drink and then some delicious danish pastries! The receptionist also gave us a discount card which was surprisingly useful - had a 10% off a meal in local place (Whiskey 'N Rye Smokehouse) and then a 2-for-1 wine tasting a beautful bar nearby (Sanger Wine Tasting Room). Highly recommended place to stay.

Convenient location in the center of town, you can just walk to see all the tourist spots. Free parking onsite, and even on checkout day they are happy to let you leave the car there for the day. It has a swimming pool and jacuzzi but sadly it was too cold to enjoy it. They offer 10% discount in many shops and restaurants in town. We visited a few and enjoyed the discounts.

Breakfast is quite poor. Just instant coffee, tea and powder milk. Juices are quite bad. It is nice as it is complimentary but don't rely on it, go somewhere else for a proper breakfast. No blinds on the room and no separation with the bathroom so light enters freely into the room - it will wake you up if you are a light sleeper.

Staff was friendly, rooms were very clean and roomy, beds were comfortable. Pool and hot tub were very good, heated. Perfect location, right downtown. Appreciated the roll-away bed provided for our stay for our extra guest in our room. Simple, but good.

Breakfast is small: Danishes, juice, oatmeal packets & granola bars. We were in a room (105) that had an accordion door for the bathroom that was hard to use, and doesn't afford much privacy when using the toilet. The rest of our party had a room (101) with a much nicer bathroom.

The hotel is in a perfect central location. You can easily walk to almost all of the shops, attractions, and food. The temperatures changed quickly and we were able to run back to the car and get a warmer coat. The room has all of the basic amenities at a very good price. The hotel's free morning breakfast had plenty of coffee and some tasty Danish rolls.

You could hear a lot of sounds through the walls. The rooms also face the outside and room doors are right next to each other. When our neighbor opened their door, we thought someone was coming into ours. Once we realized that it wasn't our door, it was ok.

Originally when we checked in, we were booked to an upstairs room, I asked if they could change it to a ground floor room, because I have very bad knees. Without asking why, they changed my room to a ground floor room. Much appreciated.

There wasn't much to dislike, except my room door was right next to the other rooms door and so when my neighbor left or came back to their room, It sounded like they were coming through my door, although they were not.

Staff is EXCEPTIONAL! Ebony at the front desk was beyond helpful from the start of our stay to the end. She was always smiling and super friendly. The gentleman at the front desk was excellent as well. I booked the wrong date and arrived a day early (NYE) with my family (yikes!), but Ebony was super reassuring and saved the day!

My only recommendation would be to remove carpets from ALL the rooms. It would just feel 100 times cleaner and actually be 100 times cleaner. I walked past a couple of rooms that had wood flooring and they looked so much more beautiful and sanitary. And it would probably be cheaper to clean and easier for housekeeping.

Staff were exceptional. Helpful, professional and kind. Allowed us to park our car on the property a couple hours before check in. Excellent location, very clean, comfortable and had everything needed for this stay.

Hot water and pressure problems in sink/tub/shower during first 30 minutes of starting our morning. **Problem was quickly corrected.** We stayed in room 215 which is directly above the jacuzzi. Unfortunately for our preferences, we could hear the guests in it at night as if they were literally right outside our door. Would stay at this accommodation again but not in 215 or a room on that particular wing due to excessive noise at the jacuzzi.
