The Inn at Boatworks is located in Tahoe City on the west side of Lake Tahoe. We loved the location because it had plenty of dining options within walking distance and was also close to the bike/walking trails that go around the lakeshore. We requested a wheelchair accessible room for my husband who is a bilateral amputee. One of our biggest challenges while traveling is finding accommodations that are truly wheelchair accessible. Keeping in mind that everyone has different physical abilities, here is what we experienced in Room 8, which is their wheelchair accessible king room. This room had plenty of space for my husband to maneuver around the side of the bed in his manual wheelchair. The bathroom was spacious, with room to roll comfortably under the sink, adequate grab bars near the toilet and a huge roll-in shower that had an easy-to-reach handheld shower head as well as an overhead showerhead. This room included a refrigerator and microwave oven, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was very clean. We would definitely stay here again on our future trips to Lake Tahoe.

There was nothing that we didn't like! Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet.

My room was clean and spacious, the bathroom facilities including shower were also very spacious (possibly recently refurbished), the bed was very comfortable. Location was a bit of a problem in that my room (like all the rooms at this facility) was very close to the main drag in Tahoe City, and the traffic noise continued until late in the evening. Since my room was adjacent to the office, foot traffic and noise from visitors to the office was a problem until late in the evening.

Location and noise issues reported above, and the fact that check in was not available until 4 pm. Other loud evening noises (possibly caused by movement of machinery nearby) that shook the room and which must have originated adjacent to my room.

Very clean as in spotless Fridge and microwave in room

A freak problem the room key jammed in the door lock one night. No staff were on site at that hour. We used just the chain & latch till morning- not very secure. Arrival date was during the worst storm day or the year.. took 10 hours of driving instead of 2 1/2 hour as usual. Only one road from west (rt 50) was open.

The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The location to Tahoe City and the lake is fantastic. The rates are super reasonable and leave you with money to spend on dinner.

The bathroom and room were pretty dated with few "extra" comforts. There was no place to put one's clothes, other than your whole suitcase on a tv table.

Location was convenient. However, at check-in we were told not to leave anything in the car. That made us wonder about the security of the property.

No housekeeping. For a stay of 2 or more nights you would expect bed to be made & attention given to bathroom supplies such as towels, etc.

As a woman traveling alone, grieving the death of my Mom, I felt safe & appreciated the occasional calls I received during my drive from the front desk check-in concierge. I was open about my reason for getting away and my road trip progress was slower than I expected. It was thoughtful of him to be sure I was ok on my drive. The room was perfect for me. I felt I had the peace and safety I needed in such a beautiful setting. I highly recommend this Hotel for couples. The cute heart shaped bath hot tub in the king sized bed room would be perfect for two. I love Lake Tahoe. It is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. I spent many summers with my family there growing up. There’s a great deal of serenity to be found just looking out at the Lake. All kinds of shops and places to dine. A nice getaway for sure. Knowing the area, I can say that a weekend stay would have been far more crowded and the traffic tends to be a slog so bring walking shoes and park up your vehicle during weekend tourist season in the summer. The Hotel is centrally located in Tahoe City, making it easy to walk to the beach, the store, tons of restaurants and the unique shopping boutiques and art galleries near by.

Lower price to stay on week nights.

Super friendly & helpful staff, comfortable & great location.

A bear had damaged some pipes under the property, which meant a day without hot water. 💦 but this was no problem, they were working on it as fast as possible & the staff made every effort to accommodate.

Good location. Had everything we would’ve wanted for a comfortable stay except that they didn’t have free kayaks as they had advertised and no central ice machine.

The bikes were difficult to adjust, one had no brakes.

Location is beyond belief, minutes walk to the lake front and central Tahoe City. Access to sporting equipement including bikes and SUPs was awesome.

We did not get he room we reserved, but the staff was gracious (the room had to be deep cleaned due ot issue with a prior guest).
