Cozy room, exactly what we expected. Nice that the lodge rooms are clumped in 4's so one shared entryway for 4 rooms, not just rooms along a long hallway or corridor. Made fore a more homey feeling! Wish I had brought my kids when they were younger so we could take advantage of the snow activities.

Nothing to do with Granlibakken itself, but we got stuck in a storm on the way there so arrived much later than anticipated, and were not able to take advantage of any of the extras (pool and hot tub specifically). We weren't able to do the buffet breakfast since we needed to head to Palisades early, and unfortunately ended up checking out a day early to get back on the roads home ahead of the next approaching storm (the much-feared "Atmospheric River"!).

What I loved: Winter wonderland vibes: The location nestled amongst the pines and the snowy grounds truly captured the Christmas spirit. Sledding fun: The on-site sledding hill provided endless entertainment for the whole family. We made memories that will last a lifetime! Relaxation under the stars: Soaking in the jacuzzi and sauna under the snowy sky was pure bliss. Culinary delights: The tavern's food was delicious, and the holiday drinks were festive and warming. The breakfast buffet was a perfect way to fuel up for Christmas day adventures. Friendly service: The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Cozy and convenient: The lodge itself had a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the location was perfect for exploring Tahoe City.

What could be improved: Treetop park blues: It was a bummer that the treetop park was closed during the winter. It would have been a fantastic addition to our Christmas experience.

The location is beautiful and convenient to town The staff are wonderful and friendly. The food at the restaurant, though a small menu, was excellent. The tennis court, pool and hot tubs were clean and in good repair. The grounds are well kept and beautiful.

We stayed three days and received no room service. When we requested restocking of towels, coffee and trash removal, we received clean bath towels only. The room was old and the noise between rooms is significant. I think we were booked in the oldest building (typical when you book on booking). Breakfast was extra $20 each because we did not book direct. Overall, these are just cautions. It was a good stay.

As some point out the hotel might not be the most up to date or flashy but it really surpassed my expectations by a mile. I’ve been to a lot of 3* and 4* hotels in the US and it had by far the best breakfast I ever got in the states in a hotel with a good variation and a lot of freshly made food and fruits. The heated outdoor pool and sauna were nice, the gym was totally worth a visit. We had food in the pub which was also very nice. And all of the staff members were super friendly and welcoming. Would definitely love to comeback for snow season someday.

Nice hot tub. Didn’t use the breakfast so can’t comment on that. Close enough to drive to Palisades but too far to walk to downtown Tahoe City.

The building layout is a bit odd so lots of up and down hallways and stairs to get to the exit closest to the pool area, unless you’re on the first floor. Also the television didn’t work; no cable TV or streaming features and none of the local broadcast channels worked.

Lovely quiet location, bed and pillows were very comfortable, and clean. Lots of facilities on site to enjoy, and the pool is open until 10PM which is great for night swimmers like me! Dinner on site was amazing (we loved Alex!) And though we had dinner plans on our second night, we wouldnt have been upset to miss them and "have" to eat at the hotel instead.

The air conditioning in the room seemed not to work. Or even exist? While there was a fan, air conditioning seemed pretty necessary. It got pretty stuffy in there even with the window open.

A great accommodation experience! The seven of us booked two apartment suites. The apartment is very tidy, the things are very complete, and it is very convenient to eat with plates and knives. It's great to have a balcony. The room is very tidy and comfortable. The heating is warm. It's very close to the scenic spot we are going to.

after being placed in a room with only one bed when I booked a room with 2 beds, we were promptly upgraded to a nicer room with 2 beds and a spacious living space. I also booked this in a rush so the on site hot tub was a nice surprise

finding where to check in took a little time as did getting the right room but the staff were great and the place was perfect for a place to stay while skiing

Breakfast available at the main hall it was a plus we did not need to drive into town everyday for breakfast. Even tho the Location was only two minutes from downtown. The snow was really coming down and they did a great job keeping the road and walkways as clear as possible. All staff where very kind. It was convenient having the snow school on property.

suite was a good size for our family of five. liked the pool and hot tub. Instead of the 1.5 hour slot of sledding that we paid for, they let us sled all day. Staff was all friendly and helpful.

There was only one knife in the kitchen and it was very small. Also, there needs to be additional paper towels and garbage bags stocked.
