Room was really clean and staff was very attentive to our requests. Historic hotel, so no A/C or fridge in the room, but the staff readily provided a fan, which was perfect, and we used a simple ice chest for our items needing refrigeration. Nice big closet for storage. Breakfast was available in the cafe and 24 hours coffee and tea. The location was perfect access for our hiking and Silverton was my favorite town on our trip - great people and nice small restaurants with delicious food - all walking distance from the hotel.

Our room was a little small for four adults. (We got a basic two bed suite, but I believe larger rooms are available.)

n/a on breakfast. location perfect. Excellent shower. Good beds. Little coffee shop next door had good coffee and good breakfast sandwiches and very pleasant staff. Made up a bit for the lack of breakfast at the hotel.

free coffee (Keurig) in the hotel lobby but constantly out of creamer. someone should tell them that you can buy little individual creamers that last forever. That is pretty picky but a number of people getting coffee commented on it and it seems so easy to fix I don't know why the hotel would want a sore spot on such a trivial matter.

Loved the location! Beautiful old building with antique furniture and decor that made the place feel unique and fun. It was antique feeling but also exceptionally clean. We loved the family suite which had two bedrooms plus living room, which allowed for happy sleeping arrangements with the kids.

Everything was great except that we were uncomfortable at night due to the heat. Since there is no air conditioning, we simply wanted to open the windows and let in some cool mountain air. BUT there are no screens on the windows, which meant bugs came and flooded the room instantly! Wishing for either A/C of some kind or at the very least, SCREENS! Otherwise we absolutely loved the hotel!

The staff and owner at this hotel were nothing short of AMAZING!! We had a medical emergency while there and they were so very kind and helpful! The owner took care of our boys (4&6) while EMS was in the room and then brought them in his own car to follow us in the ambulance to the hospital. We can never thank them enough! The hotel and room were lovely too! Clean and comfortable and right in the middle of the little town. I’m only sad that we didn’t get to enjoy it to its full extent because of my injury. If we get a “redo” of this trip we will definitely stay here again!

It is a beautiful hotel that has kept its charm for over 120 years. Antiques are shown throughout. The bed was comfy, the bathroom had a classic claw-footed tub and wainscoting. A very nice place for a couple to spend the night.

It is an old hotel, so I really can't complain. But know that there is no elevator. Our room was on the 3rd floor, at 9300 ft elevation. Be prepared for a bit of a trek to your room, especially if you are not use to high elevation and/or have a lot of bags. The room didn't have AC, which we knew. But the window didn't stay open on its own. I used the ice bucket to prop it open for a breeze, and then it was quite nice. We stayed in mid-May. Not sure how hot it gets in late summer.

This hotel was fantastic. As old as it was the renovations were incredible. It had the modern feel but still kept the history of the hotel itself. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Was a little expensive but well worth the price. Would definitely stay here again given the opportunity.

The parking was terrible as it was on the street, no designated parking place. Stayed on the 3rd floor, no elevators. But to keep the aesthetics of the hotel, I completely understand. Maybe a bellboy?

99% of everything, my wife and I loved....

Did not like was the inability to open a window and have it stay locked open.... But not open so much that a person could fit through the window. Outside the window. I would easily be able to get into my own bedroom. Or walk along the ledge. And enter other people's bedrooms where the windows were left open... Love to see that safety feature in the future.

The location was excellent and it is a gorgeous hotel, restored so beautifully. Our room was comfortable, clean and we loved the furnishings and claw foot bathtub in the bathroom.

The hotel was built in 1882 and there is not elevators to the 2nd or 3rd floor, which is understandable because it’s a historic hotel, but this will be an issue for a disabled person.

This is a great and unique place to stay because of its history. The rooms are clean, remodeled, and well appointed. The only complaint is that there is no AC and on a hot summer day it can be a bit stuffy. There are ceiling fans and if you open the windows, by morning it feels good. Silverton is at 9300 feet elevation so I can see why they don't invest in AC as you probably only need it like one month or two out of the year. Overall, a fun and unique place to stay!

Great location in the heart of town. I was on the third floor which was fine with one medium suitcase. The hotel and rooms are beautiful and unique for keeping the old Victorian intact with modern amenities. I love the down to earth restaurant of the old west. The lobby is unbelievable with the huge painting of Lillian Russel and the two original Remington sculptures. The whole place is like a museum of the West in the Victorian mining days

Nothing at all It was perfect.
