Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Trinidad

The property has been updated since the last time we visited. Our stay was wonderful last time and this time as well! The staff is always so friendly. Chris was especially friendly and such a kind soul! The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious. I love the long countertops in the bathroom! Pet fee was only $20.

The only issue was that the handle in the bathtub wasn’t cleaned off. It had a bit of soap dripped on it from the dispensers above it. The dumpsters are a bit away from the hotel so you have to drive/walk to get to them which can be kind of inconvenient.

It is a motel style setup which I like because I travel with expensive equipment. It is easy to bring it into the room being able to park just steps away from the room. The room was modern, clean and adequate. The restaurant was an unexpected bonus. It looks like a standard sports bar so I sat at the bar and asked if they had wings. The bartender looked at me like he didn't understand the question. He spoke English just fine. What I didn't understand was this was a sports bar with and upscale menu. He handed me a menu like you would see at an upscale steakhouse. I spied the seafood plater and ordered it. It was excellent. The chef came out a couple of times and asked if I liked it and if I needed anything. It was obvious after some employee interactions that he was the owner or at leased acted like it. I could also tell this was a local favorite. There was a constant flow of customers coming in to grab take out. 9 out of 10 stars for the food and no one gets 10 stars.

The room was very clean along with the beds, bathroom and shower. Along with a great view, their restaurant Sunset Grille had great food, better than expected, I'd really recommend the Garlic Naan bread appetizer and they cook a great burger.

We originally booked a king room the same day but when checking in that evening the front desk person explained there were no king rooms available but accommodated us with a 2 queen bed room, which was a little disappointing. Otherwise everything else was great.

Room was very large and clean. Bathroom area particularly was massive. Breakfast was very good. Nice area to sit for breakfast with a good view of the mountains. Son of owner was friendly at check-in. Price was very good, especially considering we booked at the last minute. It's a motel, where you can park right in front of your room. Absolutely no complaints.

Only some "shady" characters hanging about, a bit. But, that's Colorado for you.

As we were about to check out, all our items still in the room no where close to 11, the housekeeper, male, was about to bring our luggage to the front desk (his words) because he thought we were already gone...checkouts at 11 right? We just took our things and left at that point...

Staff was very welcoming and friendly upon my arrival. Lobby was very clean, room was clean. Housekeepers were absolutely amazing. Pool and hot tub area very well kept and clean. Parking lot very clean and very well lighted at night. And very dog friendly my most important.

I didn't like that a very few housekeepers didn't give u time to answer the door after knocking and announcing themselves.

The room was unusually large and also clean and comfortable. I liked the soap and shampoo dispensers located in the sink area and shower because they aren't wasteful. Check-in was quick and friendly.

Fox News was on the TV in the breakfast area. No one should be forced to start their day with Fox News, which is statistically likely to displease just over half the country. Don't they get the Denver news stations in Trinidad? Or the Weather Channel? Or plain static? Anything else, please, or nothing at all.

Room was large, clean, and quiet. We asked for a pet-friendly room, and was delighted that it included tiled floors and did not smell like a pet room. Tiled floors made us more at ease (because we were traveling with a new puppy) and knew if there were any mishaps, it would be easy to clean.

Traveling with a pet, it would have been nice to be on the first floor. Unfortunately, we were placed on the second level. On the upside, the room was right next to the stairs.

This motel was TERRIFIC! The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable! There was a clean, convenient laundry room that required room key entry… and had two washers & two dryers. Best of all, the sports bar/restaurant was AMAZING! Enjoyed a VERY GOOD STEAK DINNER AT A REASONABLE PRICE!

The cannabis dispensary on the adjacent lot was — initially— a concern. But my concern was really the result of my own biases. Everyone I met at the motel and nearby were all friendly and polite. Besides, cannabis dispensaries are extremely prevalent in ALL of Colorado.

Jacuzzi was hot and a wonderful surprise! Easy access after a long drive. LOVED the Sunset Grill adjacent to the motel so we could enjoy an awesome dinner without having to get back into the car. Fabulous sunset. Tasty breakfast.

All the good things outweighed the fact that the rooms have carpet. At some point I would suggest flooring but everything else was so good it doesn't matter
