The Litchfield Inn

Everything was exceptional, the staff was friendly, the rooms were comfortable, they gave you home made chocolate chip cookies. The breakfast was second to none.

We were staying just one night while attending a music festival in Goshen. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and set us up with a room near the exit just as we requested. The room was nice sized and comfortable with a nice view out the back. The breakfast was decent, with an option to order fresh made eggs and other hot options. The hotel is located about 1.7 miles from the Litchfield town green.

There was nothing wrong with the stay, but it was a little pricey for one night ($338). I know things have gotten more expensive during the summer, and I cannot fault the hotel for wanting to cover costs and make up for lost time, but I'm just not sure, in total, if it was worth the cost.

Scenic property. Beautiful facility. Gracious and kind staff. Beautiful common spaces, I loved the library and also fire pit/patio, fireplace. Rooms are beautiful, beds comfortable, everything clean and comfortable. Breakfast delicious with wide spread of options. 24/7 snacks was loved by family.

Nothing, all was really great!

I thought everything was wonderful. I had read previous reviews and am surprised of some of the harsher critiques of this place. The moment I walked in I was impressed and reassured that it was going to be a good stay. The lobby was completely immaculate, clearly recently updated (as was the rest of the inn), with very elegant and clean decor. The front desk staff was extremely nice. I also thought the snacks in the lobby and coffee/tea was a lovely touch. The breakfast was also wonderful. It was buffet-style so you really could find anything, even for pickier eaters. They had someone staffing the "egg bar" so you could order eggs however you wanted. Plus coffee, tea, juices, etc. There was also a really nice outdoor area with electric firepits you could easily turn on and off. Whoever decorated/updated did a really nice job making the outdoor area extremely welcoming and some place you could relax. As we were traveling with dogs, we were really happy that there is a huge meadow/field right against the inn that then leads into woods/more rugged terrain. The dogs loved it. I also found the staff really welcoming to our pets. Coming off an experience where that wasn't the case, I felt extremely happy and relaxed. The room itself was beautiful; again, everything was very updated and renovated, and it was a surprisingly large room, with two TVs, a desk, and a little sitting area. The location of the hotel is excellent to get into Litchfield's town center for restaurants, coffee, etc. There was a little bit of noise leak from other rooms but in a hotel or apartment that is inevitable. I always bring a sound machine and ear plugs when I travel just in case. Overall, I felt very happy with my stay and would absolutely come back if I were staying in the area.

I didn't mind how lovely the halls/rooms smelled, but some of the air fresheners were slightly too strong for me

Building is a late-20thC vrsion of a typcial New England inn--but without the creaks & squeaks and accumulation of age-old crotchets: Newly remodeled and polished and furnished in excellent taste in a fashionable, up-to-date way. It's NOT in Litchfield proper and this may be a minor inconvenience, though it certainly is accessible. Rooms are super-sized, beds are great, amenities generous. It provides a luxurious, quiet stay.

Breakfast, though generous, is presented in a confusing way & guests seem bewildered about what's on offer, even though the fare is extensive (including made-to-order "omelettes"). Tips are solicited. The place is "run" by one desk clerk: the mid-day clerk was pleasant and helpful; the late shift clerk was too young, inexperienced, and rude, by no means up to the inn's near-impeccable standard.

Spacious room with a wonderful spa tub for 2. Shower was very nice as well. The little bar area was nice for eating (we brought in sushi) and the bed was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and the staff in the breakfast room were very friendly and helpful. This is our third stay at the Litchfield Inn and has become our go-to hotel for the area.

The room was lacking in two areas: no full length mirror and only one easy chair. A second chair or couch/loveseat would have nice. And the only mirror was in the bathroom.

Wish the common room was a bit cozier and more condusive to casual engagement vs lots of tables & chairs. Wish there were more conversation areas within it.

Breakfast exceeded expectations. Complimentary wine on F and S was a nice surprise. Exceptional staff.

Not much! A couple common areas were a bit cold, but I’m sure the staff would have addressed if we asked.

Loved the back garden and the fire pit in the evening. And the chocolate chip cookies. And the friendly staff. Especially Beth who worked in the evening. We’d never have been able to turn on the jacuzzi in our room without her! We will return!

Excellent mattress and bedding, slept very well. Nice property and appearance with plenty of parking. Excellently cleaned and prepared room. Enjoyed a nice evening in front of an outdoor gas fire pit. Good self serve breakfast options, plus eggs made to order. Very nice room and furnishings. Overall an excellent stay. Would definitely stay again if in the area. Complimentary snacks, water and coffee available in lobby and 2 bottles of water included in the room.

Water pressure in shower was a bit weak, but that was the only non optimal thing we encountered.
