Americas Best Value Inn Fort Myers

Large room with table for 2 bags, desk, lounge chair, ironing board, microwave, mini fridge. Clean and comfortable. Nice pool area. Better than most other places of this type. I had no problem with covid-safe, virtual receptionist; he's a real person that you can ask questions of. I asked for -and received- a room on upper floor facing north. I phoned reception about wifi and talked to real person - same one, I think. Construction didn't bother us.

Wifi kept dropping, even with the second option we were given. Grab & go breakfast: instant coffee, variety of sweets,. Activia yogurt and apple the only healthy option. Horrible value. We have stayed there in the past and found it good; price has doubled. For $164 I expect good wifi at least. Breakfast wasn't much better in the past but price was lower. I was ready to rate much lower, but compared to the alternatives, it's still the best option. This area was devastated by the hurricane and still rebuilding at a tremendous cost. Accomodation supply plunged and demand spiked.

The overall quality of the older hotel room was average at best. The person that cleaned the room was excellent. The towels and linens were clean. The food was good. I dont like the video check in/out even though Trever did a good job, but a little hard to understand. Video service is very impersonal. Good to have a Gideon Bible. Thx for that.

Rooms were nice. Beds are soft. The location was also great there's a lot of places around the hotel. The staff was great with accommodating us with a room on the bottom floor after learning that one of our guests could not do stairs and walks with a walker

There is construction going on at he moment. Just be careful and you do not talk with a person live to check in. There is a computer and everything is done virtually

Checking in was done via remote video chat using a kiosk in the lobby. Very easy. Same for checkout. The room and the amenities far exceeded my expectations. Wonderful. At times there was also a staffer at the desk for assistance. The dehumidifier was helpful to dissipate humidity from the bathroom/shower. Good thinking! The bathroom fan was more of an air filter that recirculated the air. It was not hooked up to any exhaust system. Great pillows made with shredded memory foam. I brought my own and used yours more than mine. I bought similar ones as soon as I got home! The shower had all the hot water one could want and great pressure with multiple spray options. Fixtures, such as the toilet, the bathroom walls, and the vanity area's counter-top were modern and lavish. The Coffee maker (brewed a single cup at a time) worked flawlessly. One could get additional coffee packs at the office/lobby. The blow dryer was powerful and quiet. The TV was nice and had plenty of channels available. The linens were very nice. The bed was the perfect comfort level for me. Not too stiff and not mushy. Roomy fridge and nice, newer microwave. Nice basic desk and a chair like one would find at an office, not just something to sit on. It had tilt and height adjustment for comfort.

Just a caveat to others: Due to the pandemic, there was no breakfast or coffee in the main lobby. This is a good thing, albeit a minor inconvenience for travelers. They are only practicing safe measures in these times of rapid spread. I was able to make my coffee in my room and eat out or shop at the grocery with such a roomy fridge. I presume they have adjusted their rates accordingly. The value for me was amazing.

Our first room had a leak at the sink. Your staff quickly provided us with a new room. The room we stayed in was clean and smelled nice. The cleaning staff was efficient and friendly.

We were greeted at check-in by a remote person. I didn't appreciate this. Our mattress was somewhat uncomfortable. We were nervous about having the dehumidifier running all day while we were out of the room for fear of it filling up and overflowing. We turned it off at night because it was noisy and produced lots of warm air.

Although you could tell the property was older, it was very clean and comfortable. Cleanliness is HUGE for me when I travel. The property is nicely upgraded. Bed was very comfortable. Lobby kiosk made for a completely non face-to-face check in/out experience. Price was extremely reasonable. Although no hot breakfast, grab & go bagged breakfast was offered and sufficient. I didn't use the pool, but it looked nice. Iron, hair dryer, coffee maker in room.

Guests in adjoining room were noisy from time to time. Guests stood outside rooms loudly talking during the night. Not really the fault of the management, although it was disturbing. Somewhat expected with lower cost hotels.
