Holiday Inn Express - Fort Walton Beach Central, an IHG Hotel

The hotel was very nice and clean.

It says 3000 from the beach. Well not really, its on a small area without beach/swimming access. It's a 15-20 min drive to the beach.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast was great. We stay here every year and for the past few years breakfast has been good for the COVID restrictions in place, but this year it was back to normal. The hot food options every morning were excellent. They had biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs every morning and they changed out the other options like bacon, sausage links, sausage patties, and egg white omelets on different mornings. They also had pancakes, muffins, toast, grits, yogurt, and fruit. Coffee, milk, and a variety of juices were also available. The pool is small, but nice and clean with plenty of seating around.

The room is bigger than it looks in the photos, the beds are comfortable and there are different pillow firmness, soft and firm. The facility is really nice and the employees that clean the rooms do a really good job. We really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend and would definitely stay here again.

The tub and sink drains were really slow, like taking a bath and shower at the same time. I wanted to let someone know when we were checking out but there was no one at the desk, there was just a box to put your keys in when you leave.

The room was very clean, good size, very good lighting. Staff was awesome, food was ok. I did have to call the staff to let them know the iron board was broken and they replaced it immediately which I was very pleased. Also the tv lost signal and they also went immediately to fix it. Other hotels take their sweet time to go up and resolve anything.. Didn't happend with them i give them a 10. Overall I would stay here again.

The breakfast was pretty good! Sausage gravy was available 1 morning. It was the best thing! The beds were very comfy and the room was cold! I love to turn air down at night and it be a cold room. Most places will have a cut off and the room will not get cooled enough. The location was perfect. Avoided most traffic from the Destin area.

Wish they would have at least taken out trash out and gave 2 new towels while there for a 3 night stay but I guess I could understand why they may not have. Other people trying to check in need to get an empty room cleaned for new guests. Maybe they were short staffed. Did have to get toilet paper from front desk.

seemed like the hotel was fairly new, if not is well taken care of.

couldn’t sleep in the bed, not their fault though, because they had new beautyrest mattresses but I have gone through three beds at home to find one that lets me sleep due to back and hip problems. the only other problem was all the white milk for breakfast was bad, soured and curdled. didn’t try the chocolate.

Our room was huge (although I can't guarantee it was the size of every room, as we are at the end of the hallway), and the bed was VERY comfy! I was stoked they had ther full breakfast open in spite of Covid-19 - the only modification being they had an attendant gathering everything for you. The hotel was super close to everywhere we wanted to be.

The only reason I'm not giving this place a perfect 100 is that I could tell the bathroom floor had not been mopped (or mopped properly). Kind of gross, especially when it's an easy task. (And I can say this as I've cleaned rooms before.)

THE STAFF WAS GREAT!!!! Regardless of how many times we called for towels😊 The staff was honest, helpful and did not hesitate when we requested towels or information. They were knowledgeable of the area and gave great directions Breakfast was hot and on time and in my opinion very good. The beds were very comfortable, there was little or no noise and we slept very well. The pool was clean and the pool area was clean.

I didn't give a 10 for my stay for a couple of reasons. It was 3 of us in a room I had requested extra towels to be placed in our room upon check in. For whatever the reason it did not happen. A change of linen had to be requested. They were short handed... Despite placing the service tag on the door no one came. We placed out trash on the hall and other guests were doing the same. The amenities stated daily housekeeping. We ran low on toilet tissue and had to go down and get some, which could have been avoided if housekeeping had been coming through. For all of our stay ample towels were an issue.

Great breakfast in the morning. VERY clean. Large room. Great price. No weird hotel smells. Decent pool. Friendly staff. Good parking. Great pillows. My fiancé and I decided to stay here and just drive in to the beach to save some money on hotel rooms. We definitely didn’t regret it!

Obviously it is not directly on the beach, it’s on the other side of the bay, but that helps keep the price of the rooms significantly lower than comparable hotels in the area. It is maybe a 3 minute drive over to Okaloosa island. TOTALLY worth it. No negatives that would’ve brought my rating down.

The staff was very friendly. They were always wanting to be super helpful. Their printer wasn’t working and I needed to print stuff for my homework and they were very helpful with getting what I needed. I asked if they sold notebook paper the front desk said no,but they were more than happy to give me printer paper if I needed it. We were there earlier than expected for check in and even though the rooms weren’t available yet the woman at the front desk was very nice and said we could wait in the lobby if needed instead of us hanging out in our car. The ladies cleaning were very helpful if we needed to switch out our towels or extra bags for trash, very helpful. Loved this place,if we ever go fort Walton this is the place to stay.
