Historic hotel… location can’t be beat. They were in the middle of renovations but it was fine.

So.. when we checked in with front desk girl X, we were NOT told that the hotel did not have a system to charge drinks and food from the bar to our room. Regardless, we had a lengthy conversation and she knew our names/ faces. Around 6 pm, we sat on the patio and had drinks /appetizers from the bar. We told the bartender we were staying at the hotel. When we were finished, we decided to go for a walk on the beach so we took the plates inside ourselves and went to the beach. When we came back after 45 minutes, the bartender and girl X were in a total panic because they thought we had skipped out on paying for our dinner.?????????

What a great location! Right behind the dunes on such a lovely beach. As a historic hotel, it has charming architecture, the room was large and the rate was very reasonable. I loved being able to eat breakfast in the courtyard, which has a very European feel, and have a glass of wine in the fresh air in the evening looking at the ocean from the Rooftop bar. The bed was comfortable and the sitting room had plenty of seating options. The bathroom was a good size with a tub/shower and shampoo, conditioner, soap, and makeup remover. Parking is free and you can walk to many restaurants and bars.

A few minor things - you have to go downstairs to ask for ice when you need it and parking is free but limited. A bigger issue was the noise level - my room was under the rooftop bar and the noise of the live music and patrons could be very loud, but they were always quieted down by 10:00.

The room was great. The lounge was nice and the bartender fun and friendly. I love the historic building, the beautiful beach and location to great food, drink and entertainment. The hotel is lovely. I will visit again.

Booking.com didn’t have the room description correct. It said inner courtyard and ocean view. I had ocean and roof top. The halls had things stashed, like a headboard and rollaway bed in the hall by the elevator..seemed unkept and short staffed. Could have been because it was a weekday. The hotel is lovely!

Everything! This will be the hotel I come to any time I get to visit my home town, Jax Beach! The breakfast, far exceeded any breakfast I have been offered at any other hotel. Offering a quaint historical architectural building grasping true characteristics and cultural design of an authentic Floridian atmosphere. The room was perfect with a comfortable bed, clean and crisp linens, and natural light. It felt like a room in a house, not a typical hotel room in a hotel. Staff were very friendly, attentive, and presented as if they enjoyed working there!

I truly love this place...I will be back!

Breakfast was good and complimentary, real scrambled eggs and real potatoes, good waffles. The View from the room was exceptional, the view from the upstairs lounge is fantastic. Drinks are good and priced moderately and so are the appetizers. Ideal location right on the beach. Nostalgic hotel, great pictures in the hallways of yester years at the beach.

Some of the furniture can use updating, no microwave.

The whole experience was awesome. My child has autism and at check in I was telling the clerk about it and she immediately moved us rooms because she was In the know about children with autism and sensory issues to noise. We never heard a thing in our room the entire say it was GREAT! The whole building including the rooms has an amazing old school feel to it. It was beautiful. The beach was just steps away from our room. The breakfast was actually hot and not just bagles and cereal. Anything we asked for they were so nice about getting.

Our entire stay was great we loved it and have zero to complain about.

It was so good. I paid for ocean view. Had street view. I was very upset. But the overall service and breakfast made it a 10.

They need to talk with 3 party bookings better. My room wasn't ocean view. I paid and only booked it for ocean view. Was upset at street view. But the clean, comfort bed, and peacefulness of this place made it great.

The lady at the front desk provided us with excellent customer service! Kudos to her! We love the location super close to the beach. Love the history of this hotel, this is our 2nd time staying here

The only thing missing is the microwave in the room or at least in the common area on the 2nd floor, also an ice vending machine in a certain place available for guests to use as needed, without having to ask for the staff to get us some. Hope they also build a swimming pool in the future

Old fashioned with a bar and food. Staff were great and efficient and friendly, In this post covid world where nobody cares about anything it made a difference to have real staff who did care. Well done Actually got a real China plate with metal cutlery to eat off at breakfasts. No plastic!!!!

It rained!!

Beautiful historic hotel right on the beach, with a full hot breakfast included & with an outdoor terrace to eat on. staff was very friendly and helpful especially with us arriving late at night.

Air felt a little stuffy in the hotel room, like it had some allergens and could've used a new air filter
