I stayed here during Miami Art Week, a time when all the hotels on South Beach inflated their prices by almost 3 times, so this was an affordable option in a prime location. It's Collins Avenue, alongside many other hotels, and a few minutes walk from the beach. There are cafes nearby, and a CVS. Public transport to get downtown and north of the city is also closeby (across the street), and great walking distance overall to where I needed to go. The room was cleaned (and cleaned everyday), as well as the bathroom, and spacious for what it was. Fresh towels and options to change bedding also. I didn't have the hotel breakfast and ate at a local cafe every day instead, but that was only 5 minutes walk away. Staff were friendly and enough communal space.

The air conditioning in parts of the building was very high, making it very cold (I say this as someone who had just arrived in Miami from minus temperatures and snowy weather in the UK). So much so that I forgot how warm it was outside. Other guests complained about this too. The no outside food option. I understand it for the shared rooms, but for the communal space, for example, the pool terrace lounge it should have been ok, providing people dispose of trash properly. I found it inconvenient to come back after a long day, and the only option at the hotel was Hoja Taqueria, which had its menu limitations but also was very busy at times. When I did order outside food I ate it uncomfortably on the steps outside the entrance.

No kitchen no microwave neither a coffee maxhine

Literally right across the street from the beach! The place has a restaurant and cafe in the lobby. The place is very clean and comfortable and the pool was a very nice surprise! I dont often leave reviews but this place deserves it!

The room was pretty chilly. If there was a way to control the temperature in the room it would be great! But, we were still able to sleep in the cold.

It’s near the beach and a bus station. Also there are some stores and cafeterias near to eat

There’s no kitchen. Could be great if there was a mini fridge in each room o a fridge to share with

This hostel is one of the best I have stayed and I travel a lot. Friendly and helpful staff at reception who were happy to assist with any queries. The hostel was very clean, beds, communal areas, toilets and beds. Nice swimming pool with outside space with plenty of tables, chairs and sun beds. Comfortable sofas inside fully air con. Nice bar and restaurant, perfect to meet new people when traveling alone, they also have a pool table. quiet rooms, this is not a party hostel, however in the right level is not too much of a party, but people like to seat have a drink relax music playing but not a proper party hostel which is good for some travellers. There is the Freehand hostel around the corner which is a proper party hostel with dance floor and disco, anyone can go there to drink and party. However, stayed there one night and don't recommend it for sleeping, this hostel is much cleaner and comfortable. Breakfast is too expensive for what is is, nice supermarket down the road which you can get hot food for lunch, dinner and drinks, also subway down the road I don't recommend as it is not very clean, next to it there is a nice café and big supermarket. Filtered water dispenser available for guest in lockers behind reception. Towels provided free of charge and can change them any time. Beds were very comfortable and clean, the cleaner comes every day to clean the room. The beach is just across the road, safe area to walk around at night near the beach and roads. Easy access from the airport, bus 150 drops you off one block behind and pick you up right in front until 11:00 pm, Other local buses also stop there for other locations in Miami.

Only one receptionist dealing with many guest and other stuff at the same time. At times it takes long to check in or ask anything at reception as receptionist is busy running around the building doing other stuff or serving other guests. No privacy curtains in bunk beds. I wish the little side table inside the bunk beds were a little bid bigger to put stuff on. No kitchen for guests

It is really close to everything, the pool is great, staff friendly and very helpful, comfortable beds, and very nice interior of the place, there is a bus stop right in front which is quite useful, also if you are going to Key West the Flix bus stops really close so it is a great location for real!

This is not a negative to the place but just an advice to other solo females: I should have taken the female dormitory, instead I took the normal one where you could be mixed and I was with 3 males who were extremely messy, and since I was the last to arrive at the room there wasn't free space for any of my stuff. Also people were not cautious of the rest and were very noisy in the night when coming/ going out at 2-5 am. I know this is not male specific but would have been easier to talk to women (for me)

I had a fantastic stay at the Generator Hotel in Miami Beach. The location is excellent, just a minute away from the beach in a quiet neighborhood, yet still within walking distance or a short bus ride to the lively Ocean Drive area. The staff, especially the receptionists, were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautifully designed with a minimalist aesthetic, and they were always clean. I particularly appreciated having a mini fridge in the room, which added to the convenience. Overall, this hotel offers great value for the price.

The spring mechanism of the body wash dispenser in my room was broken. Although this was a minor issue, as I could still use it by manually pulling the nozzle, it did detract slightly from the otherwise excellent experience. However, this small inconvenience did not significantly impact my overall satisfaction with the stay.

One of the most important aspects for me in a hostel is its location and here Generator Miami is quite good. You are going to be on the beach in a 5 minutes walk. You will have easy access to buses, coffee place (Starbucks), supermarket and some restaurants just around. Staff was always very friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious. The common areas are quite nice decorated, pool are is quite nice as well. I was lucky enough to get good prices but I recommend booking with some advance. Access to airport is quite easy.

The room I was had a problem with a clogged toilet but this was solved promptly. The building has 7 floors and the elevator is quite busy, there was an issue with the elevator one the days during my stay. These were all small things and when visiting Miami in a next opportunity I would definitely stay with them again.

The staff were always polite, friendly and helpful. Check in was super quick and easy which was great after a long day of travel and late night arrival. The room was very clean and modern, the bed was so comfy and we were never disturbed by other guests, despite being right by the elevator. We had a nice view of the beach from our window. Location: we liked being slightly out from South Beach so it was quiet and calm (we stayed during Spring Break) and about at 20 minute walk to get to the more popular areas. Beach is across the road. Starbucks is next block and opens at 5am! Perfect for coffee and sunrise on the beach when jetlag had us awake early! There are all-day lockers for your valuables which we used when we had to check out, think a large was only $10. Late check-out is reasonable at $20/30. Free refillable fountain water so we didn't need to keep buying water. Uber eats was really easy to order and receive there. All in all, a great experience.

The music played by the DJ in the lobby was far too loud. I didn't like walking in to that every day - it felt like there ought to be a party going on for the volume of the music, only it seemed people in the lobby / common areas were straining to concentrate on their laptops or hear their phone calls. It's kind of isolating and overwhelming and it felt out of place for the lovely environment the hotel has created in the lobby and chill-out area. There was nowhere to get away from it unless you left the hotel or went up to your room. The A/C in reception was freezing haha but I think that's the norm here! Also, the free wifi was really slow in my room which made it harder to work. I wasn't aware there was a paid option so the staff could definitely up-sell that at check-in.

Pleasantly surprised by this place, bed was solid and comfy, rooms were very modern and new, plenty of seating area, wifi fast enough maybe 20-30mbps+

Definitely got bedbugs from sleep here which was the only downside
