The Harkness Hotel

Room. It is gorgeous! The best room we had so far and we are traveling through the USA and staying in various places for weeks now. The bathroom is larger than some rooms we had in other places. The rainfall in shower is extra perk. Bed is as good as we have in home. Air conditioning is perfect. The network is fast and stable. The hotel is an unexpected gem on the road to Yellowstone or Salt Lake City.

There is a microwave in the room, but there are no utensils, not even a cup to make our own coffee. There is an available coffee machine in the lobby, but the lack of containers to heat stuff was limiting the microwave use in the room. We would love a coffee machine in such an otherwise perfect place. Nespresso would be awesome! The other thing I missed was a work desk - it would be great to have a better chair and separate desk to do some work on the computer.

The Hotel has been restored with great care! The workmanship and attention to detail was worth the trip. The staff and town were friendly, and kind. The hot springs were well maintained and relaxing.

The only area for improvement was we assumed the room we booked online was what we saw in the picture. We ended up paying more to be able to get the room. The overall stay was enjoyable. The Thai food and Rosie cafe were exceptional! The hotel is interesting and the details made it worth the trip. The staff are wonderful . So clean !!!!

Quiet. Good location for family activities (just short drive away to hot springs.) Exceptional property and very friendly staff/owner(s). Family loved it. Super comfy beds too! Great gift shop and prices, and excellent Italian coffee machine! We will be back for sure.

Property across street - gas station with big bright sign. But it was a quiet area and the room was so comfortable for our family we really didn’t notice. It wasn’t a distraction.

it was an old building but the renovations were excellent. my family of 6 stayed there, the best part we had our own separate room, and they had two sets of bunk beds for my boys. it was perfect. I have stayed in several different accommodation, but this one, felt like home away from home. I will come back and stay here again!!!

there was nothing I did not like!

I actually booked the wrong day so when we arrived we didn’t have a reso until the next week. Since I booked with booking it made it a lot more difficult to fix the problem but the girl at the desk was very patient and accommodating and we finally got a hold of booking by phone and we were able to change our reso. The place is beautiful inside, don’t be fooled by the outside. Our room was super clean, beautifully decorated and the shower was amazing. I would definitely stay again!

There’s nothing close by but a gas station but it was only a 10/15 min drive to town.

We weren’t sure what to expect when booking, but fell in love with the hotel upon arrival! The history is fascinating, the decor absolutely beautiful and the rooms couldn’t be any more comfortable!!! The beds and pillows are the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced! The staff was so helpful and kind… and how can you not love a place that uses the original building safe as a gift shop?!

The building and new renovations are incredible! The staff ALL were exceptional. We stayed in the Ruby for a night and we were pleasantly surprised! Wished we could of stayed longer. The hot springs are only 15 min away, the diner and gas station/grocery store are so convenient for additional items needed

The bed was a little squeaky.. but maybe that's too tie in the old feel.. lol. The rack in the bathroom was a little loose as well. Minor fixes

We loved everything about our room (Indigo) Bed & pillows were perfect! The fireplace, tub, dual head shower, double sinks were great! Loved the good size shampoo and conditioner and lotion that was there for us to use. We also loved the cute nostalgic microwave and mini fridge! The history of this building is amazing and the renovations are wonderful. Heidi welcomed us and the lobby has an Amazing hot chocolate, coffee, espresso etc machine that is incredible!! It also had a cute gift shop inside the old vault! We love the location because it was quiet. It was just a short drive into to town and while we were in the hot springs the trains are right there. So glad we stayed at the Harkness to avoid all the train noise in town at night! We felt very safe staying there. Definitely that hometown feel of safety and hospitality. I forgot to take photos!

Nice kitchen and furnishings. Very friendly and helpful staff! We enjoyed the hot chocolate bar :)

The only mirror was in the bathroom- for a family trying to get ready it would be nice to have mirrors in bedrooms

The hotel has been restored and updated. Very charming rooms. Excellent linens and small touches. The hotel is in McCammon, ID, a small ranching town, south of Pocatello. We liked the rural atmosphere.

We had the room right overlooking Center Street, which was very nice, but the few cars passing by at night were noisy. Also the "Ebony" room we were in could use a small desk or table. Lastly, a hotel stay there will be further improved once they open their new restaurant in the building, otherwise the closest place to eat a sit down meal is 12 miles away.
