Hampton Inn & Suites Fort Wayne Downtown

I liked the variety but would have liked more fruit options. Was disappointed that there was no coffee the one morning we were there due to lack of coffee cups. I will bring a travel mug next time. I would have preferred a microwave to heat up certain items located in the breakfast area rather than the front desk.

We needed a microwave in our room as my granddaughter has to bring her own food due to dietary restrictions and was surprised when our room with two queen beds and a refrigerator didn't have one. However James at the front desk did get one for us. He was wonderful to us and always very helpful in many ways.

Over all very nice place with great staff. Clean with a comfortable bed and big room, and clean facilities throughout the building in a great downtown location.

On our 2nd day, especially disappointed with their "hot" breakfast selections, all overcooked and dried out at 8:30am and nothing refreshed. Definitely was not the normal for the Hampton reputation. For supper we wanted to eat in the attached "Burger Bar" restaurant and even though all day the sign was lit up showing "open" it wasn't. So we had to hike to our car in the parking garage and drive somewhere.

The front desk is weird. It’s like three small podiums instead of a proper front desk. it makes the operation look temporary or janky. We would have appreciated valet parking. The parking lot is pretty close, but it’s not an easy parking lot to use, and it’s a bit of a hike back to the hotel. Paying for parking was weird, too. The person who checked us in said he could validate our parking, but validation is really not what he meant. Anyway, the parking is a bit of a hassle.

The young lady who checked us in was VERY friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The breakfast offered choices and varieties not often available at other hotels.

The parking was lacking since we had to walk outside to get to the hotel and it was cold. The young lady on duty Sunday morning had an attitude that made us feel unappreciated. I asked for a bottle of water and she in turn gave me a whole dissertation about charging $2 for it when a whole case of 36 would only cost $4. Her attitude about it was condescending. She displayed poor customer service.

The location is excellent and the hotel and surrounding grounds are lovely. The hotel was much nicer than I expected, and the location can't be beat. The breakfast was ok. It was nice to have the option to have something to eat at the hotel in the morning. The quality of the food was ok and the selection as well.

It was not explained to me upon check-in that service in the room was "on request". I didn't really need any cleaning in the room, but would have appreciated some extra TP, towels, and shampoo, etc since nobody would be coming in to replenish them.

The staff was INCREDIBLY helpful, friendly, and kind. The front desk and breakfast staff were all great!! We LOVED the safety and security of having to have a room key to access our floor from the elevator. In a busy, downtown hotel this extra security measure helped me feel much safer.

The hotel was quite noisy. We had noisy neighbors (the front desk did send someone up to speak with them) but I felt that we were hearing a lot of noise through the air vents. We also heard a great deal of city traffic through the windows. Also, I missed this while booking, the hotel does NOT have a pool.

Breakfast was nice…I’m a tea drinker so the all day access to tea was amazing. The. View from my room was pretty especially at night. I liked the safety of patrons. There was a lock on the elevator so each floor was accessible by hotel key and there was a phone on every floor that immediately linked you to staff in case of emergency. I can’t stress how important that was considering I’m a woman. Considering the location there weren’t any stragglers hanging around which I noticed immediately. There was more than enough for room and board. I didn’t have to call down for any extras. You can tell patrons are top priority.

I didn’t like that we had to pay 15$ to park, however it was for unlimited entry or 8$ for a one time in and out. That information wasn’t displayed upon booking, nevertheless the hotel made it easy and convenient to pay the one time fee at the counter. Next was the distance from the parking garage to the hotel. Unfortunately I visited at the wrong time of the year so the weather was ice cold, but I’m sure on a nice day it wouldn’t be so bad. And lastly considering the price of the room it would be helpful if a microwave could be easily accessed in the room.

What a surprise that we could see the ballpark from our room! Ft. Wayne was busy the night we stayed. We went to a concert at the beautiful Embassy Theatre, just a 500 ft walk away. But there was a baseball game and live music outdoors just around the corner. The Hampton Inn is beautifully clean. Our room was lovely and spacious. The bed was comfortable, the sheets crisp, the towels soft and fluffy. Plenty of power outlets for our devices. Tasty morning breakfast, too.

When i called to get parking directions, Lily was incredibly helpful and gave perfect instructions. The room was tidy and comfortable. Noise was minimal. Staff was helpful and friendly.

The pay for parking was confusing because we had an in/out pass that we paid 15 for that was billed to the room but then at checkout they told us we had to pay 8 dollars at the exit, but they fixed it for us and we didn't end up paying the 8 extra dollars. Also the door for the bathroom was a sliding door that didn't allow for good privacy in the room you could hear everything from the bed going on in the bathroom

Patrick and Pamela at the front desk were phenomenal after booking.com messed up! Booking.com did not forward the hotel my reservation change made well in advance. I needed three instead of two nights. So when I arrived after a long flight and a three- hour drive because American Air had cancelled my flights, Patrick and Pamela helped me sort it out. could get to my room and relax after an awful, long day of travel.
