The room was pretty basic as far as hotel rooms go. It had all the amenities to make the stay enjoyable. The bed was very comfortable. As far as amenities, there was a decent pool and hot tub which is a must as far as I'm concerned. By far, the best thing about this hotel was the breakfast. There were so many good choices for any type of diet and they even had a woman making specialty omelets. The breakfast went above and beyond the usual complimentary breakfast.

Starting from my first impression, the reservation desk personnel were not very personable or upbeat. They didn't seem too happy to be there. Second, the icemaker was not working on the 3rd floor. Third, I was under the impression that the Blue Gate Restaurant was attached to the hotel and it was not. I also didn't realize that everything was going to shut down so early every night. The fact that there is zero alcohol sales anywhere in the county also came as a surprise. I suppose the whole Amish life style is to be experienced but I think that the early closure of restaurants and stores and the zero alcohol should be mentioned in the description. There wasn't much to do in the evening. Thank goodness for the pool and fire pit area. If I come back I will bring my own alcohol.

The room was absolutely immaculate. The cleanliness of the room made my stay very comfortable. The furnishings were new. The bed was extremely comfortable. Overall, I couldn't have had a nicer, more comfortable room. I felt very at home there. I look forward to staying there again.

The front desk staff could be a little more friendly. The sheets were microfiber material, which is very warm for sleeping. Cotton would be expected for a hotel of this quality. Also, the velour blanket was very worn out. The view from the room left a lot to be desired as well; photos are attached.

The overall atmosphere of the Blue Gate Garden was welcoming, fun, and engaging. This was our first stay, and we will definitely be back. It was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and there was plenty to do. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a good amount of options, including gluten-free! I am very picky about hotels, but Blue Gate Garden Inn quickly became my favorite.

We had a blast playing teather ball, but if I had to find something to improve...the cement playing area was too small. The ball rope length reaches outside the perimeter of the circle.

Perfect being right next to the concert we attended!! Liked that you could get a pizza right there, except we had to hurry up and order because at 5:00 they only had 8 crusts left for the whole night.

Breakfast!!! That was “ included” in our hotel price! When we arrived at 8:30 there was such a stack of omlete orders that the cook advised us to just eat the buffet! So we settled for that, about 4 bites into my breakfast I ran across a hair in my potatoes!!!! That left me pushing my plate aside and finding the first exit door!! Next time I choose to stay I will ask for a rate that does not include breakfast!

An absolutely fantastic hotel! Brought my mum for the night while she was visiting from England and it exceeded our expectations. All staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was well maintained and had everything plus more that we could want. The decor and decoration was beautiful. The breakfast was the best one I have had in a hotel in the many years of travel I have had. Have already recommended to friends and if in the area again would book without a shadow of doubt!

Have real butter as a condiment instead of margarine, use real eggs for the omelettes. Also our food was Luke warm so butter didn’t melt on biscuits. The light in the smoke detector in our room kept flashing, and it was very bright, keeping me and my husband awake throughout the night. Even with our eyes closed, you could see the bright light from the smoke detector flashing through our eyelids did not get much sleep. OK

Large, clean room and bathroom. Breakfast was one of the best I have ever had in a hotel. Love the fact that the Blue Gate Theater I'd across the parking lot from the Inn. Location of the hotel made access getting in and out easy and it was close to all the shops in town.

Actually everything was great. The selection of food for breakfast couldn't have been better. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that I only booked the room for two nights!

Our room was comfortable, clean & large. We enjoyed the back patio with the fire & waterfall. Lots of places to sit & gather with friends or loved ones. It was very cozy & relaxing. The creamery with a choice of pizza is a great addition. Your breakfast buffet is amazing. There are so many endless choices & everything is so good! Do not miss the breakfast! The pool & spa were a delight & so clean. Absolutely loved being able to walk to our show at the Performing Arts Center. We loved everything!

The couch in our room was a little awkward for someone with short legs. It made it hard to sit up. Felt like you were laying back. That was the only negative experience during our stay.

The staff was phenomenal, they were very accommodating. The room was so nice and comfortable. I love the one king and one queen bed, it suited a family of 4 nicely. The arcade was a blast. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge and watching the big TV. The free lemon/lime water was a bonus, it was delicious. And the breakfast was top notch. The best hotel breakfast we've had, so many choices. We will definitely be back and it's so close to the flea market.

The only downfall was that the ice cream shop was closed (it was a Sunday), which is normal for them. With it being a holiday weekend, we were hoping that it would've been open. But that didn't stop us from having a great family getaway.

The property is located in a great spot! Had there not been construction on the main road, you could walk to quite a few places. The hotel was clean and well maintained. If you stay on a Sunday understand you will have to go to another town to eat or do anything, Shipshewana is basically completely shut down on Sundays

my only complaint is there was a younger gal working the desk that when asked where we could go eat on Sunday said- in this town, nothing is open. Now when we went back and another lady was working the desk, she was able to provide us with a pizza place that was open and a menu to order from.
