Quality Inn & Suites Altoona - Des Moines

The breakfast was very good! Nice variety & tasty. Clean accommodations throughout. The staff was very friendly & helpful & made checkin & checkout simple. Bed was very comfortable! Nice, newer tv. Mostly updated. Quiet, even though it was right off the interstate.

The room had been partially updated & looked very clean & nice. The only exception to that was the toilet & tub/shower. Although they were both clean, they were yellowed with age & just didn't look as good as the rest of room. The toilet sat at an odd angle as well.

breakfast was ok eggs were nasty but the rest was ok pool was good needed a hot tub conveniant to get to and was where we wanted to be close to shopping also

holes in the wall in our bathroom and some one stuck toilet paper in the holes and the towel holder was falling off the wall where they moved it to. I assume that is why there were holes above the toilet

We had an awesome experience at this hotel. The staff was very friendly. We asked if we could check in early and the manager had no problem with us coming in early. He waived the extra fee for us. When we got into the room if was very clean and even smelled clean. The beds and pillows were absolutely the most comfortable I have ever slept in. It was wonderful.

Could have had a bigger room for breakfast.

Room/facility was fine. Rooms are a little dated, but not a big deal to us. Great location for all we wanted to do (weren't there for Adventureland).

Staff was mediocre. Late arrival staff was fine, though wasn't sure what to do about lack of parking that night. Lot was full so "not sure what to tell you" about where to park. We just parked in the "special parking spaces"...the second night parking was not an issue thank goodness! Second evening staff (young lady) seemed bothered by our request to borrow some tape. (Maybe she was just having a bad day?)

Very clean and bed was comfortable. Fridge & microwave in room.

A bit dated. Restroom had no exhaust fan nor was there a counter or even a sink for that matter in the actual restroom (just outside the restroom). None of which was actually that bad given that the cleanliness was above average.

The staff let us check in a little early so we could drop our stuff off and then head out to eat with some friends.

It smelled really strong of cleaning chemicals. Smelled good but very strong.

It was a nice, quiet area. Staff was very nice.

There was supposed to be a bag to grab for breakfast but there were none there. All that was available was coffee, juice, apples, and oatmeal packs.

Comfy bed, nice large room and quiet

Pool was chilly, my daughter fell and hit her head on the floor in the pool area, she was walking very slowly, so be careful if you use the pool

nice pleasant staff, clean, room was ready when promised, Excellent location.

There was a lot of floor noise from above floor from children after midnight.

Location was close to where I wanted to go and easy access.

The room, outside conditions, and descriptions didn't match the ad that interested me in booking the room.
