Econo Lodge Ankeny – Des Moines

The hotel was the best value in the area for a last minute busy weekend booking. The staff were courteous. The breakfast was standard two star fare. Parking was easy. The room met my expectations for minimum cleanliness and comfort. There were no funny smells. There was a desk/chair as well as a small easy chair.

The hotel is located just off the interstate on a street with several other similar hotels. Not a problem per se but guests need to know they must drive to do anything else. There was only one curtain (blackout) and it would have been nice to have another option especially on the first floor. The walls in the bathroom were not spotless.

Very welcoming, looked just like in the picture. Super clean , fresh smelling, room was exactly as pictured in the advertisement.Upon arrival staff greeted us, check in smooth, beautiful pool area , tables and chairs to lounge around and enjoy the views outside. Room was comfortable, clean , refrigerator,microwave, coffee maker, comforts of home. In the morning,wonderful breakfast is served , eggs, sausage, etc served if you leave hungry it’s your own fault. We will stay here again . Thank you for a GREAT stay.

not a thing , this was the most clean hotel I’ve been to.

I liked that the hotel was in proximity to the highway. My grandson was in a track meet and being by the highway made things easier. I also liked that their was a gas station across the street. The grounds were serene with the water/pond and it was clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable and the room a nice size.

When we went down for breakfast it looked like scraps were left, but there was more than an hour and a half remaining. We had to search for the lasy who was in charge of breakfast. We found her talking to the lady at the front desk. We had to ask her to replenish food (coffee & milk). The front desk staff was m.i.a. several times when we needed assistance.

The hotel was beautiful, however, there was 2 busloads of teen boys that stayed there also. They were on obnoxiously loud and even had a fight in the hallway. It felt like they were jumping in the room.

The beds were really too high to climb into. I'm short and also 70 years old. Very hard to get in and out of bed for those night visits to the restroom.

Everything was fine. Front desk girl was very nice. Clean and comfortable.

I was given the option to reserve a smoking room on the app, so I did. When I got there, they said they don't have smoking rooms and that shouldn't be an option. So I had to walk all the way outside in the snow and wind everytime I wanted a smoke. Of I had known, would have booked different accommodations.

Breakfast..Lots of variety , hot and cold, balanced with protein , (eggs, sausage, peanut butter) Carbs, (waffles, cereals, bread varieties) fruit and juices as well . Breakfast area kept clean and supplied. Coffee very good, not too weak or too strong, hot and fresh. Our room was so fresh and clean, well appointed, comfortable bedding, quiet, everything worked!

Can't think of a thing. Wish we could have stayed longer. Was convenient, right off the Freeway.

The breakfast was wonderful, food was hot and plentiful. The location of the hotel was convenient to the freeway and nearby shops and restaurants. The hotel was very clean and well maintained.

The parking lot was small, and with a full hotel, people had to park in odd places.

Location was good, staff were friendly, things were clean. Handicap bathroom was excellent.

Some of hallway carpet was bubbled up in areas which was difficult for me as a handicapped walker. Also there was no freezer compartment in the refrigerator.

The staff was ALL very friendly, professional and helpful. We were especially impressed with the breakfast that was served. Delicious, fresh and the cleanliness was exceptional! Great job all around!!

There was nothing that we did not like. ALL GOOD!!

it was easy to get to and parking was close

I didn’t like that the girl checking us in had both headphones in the whole time she was talking to us. the beds weren’t comfortable and the bathroom was crowded with a coffee pot and ice bucket in it.
