The new coffee bar is a nice addition. Staff were super friendly. Lattes were delicious.. Good proximity to St. Charles. Great decor, comfortable bed. Super friendly and helpful staff at the bar. Easy walk to Fresh Market. The private first floor lounge is fantastic, and the outdoor seating area is charming. Very easy check in. Friendly easy vibe.

Noisy room on the first floor with bar noise and other guests. Rooms and bathrooms are well done, but are small. We were surprised that the rooms weren’t tended to daily. Neighborhood is definitely “up and coming.”

Surprisingly a very modern and upscale hotel. As you first walk in, there is a somewhat enclosed sitting area that is mostly covered for optimal shade. There are enough relaxing corners to choose from with hanging chairs and easy casual sitting groups. The hotel has 3 floors but no elevator so be aware of that when booking. The rooms are minimalist design so airy and free of clutter. The bathrooms are no nonsense as well. Contrary to the belief of many that we spoke to, the neighborhood may have some poor corners but for the most part, the small victorian style homes are slowly being renovated and restored with alot of love and patience. The hotel has a very nice cafe and bar that is frequented by the locals. A great atmosphere for good and lively conversation. The manager of the hotel, Joseph, is unbelievably friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a really good cup of coffee or espresso (and I mean European style) this is the cafe to visit but ask Joseph to make it. He seems to have the „Midas Touch“ with the fancy italian coffee machine. Thank you Joseph for sharing some of your time during breakfast. You made our stay that much better.

We had only one cell phone that was capable of working in the US. This hotel doesn’t have 24 hour or late check-in which is usually no problem for the locals. The check-in process was for us a major stress factor: download an app, put in security code and hope the security system can read my phone…. If we hadn’t had my cell phone (extra costs just to get it to work in America) we wouldn’t have been able to access our room.

Great location for the Mardi Gras parades. Good remodel but some things not done well. In our very small shower they had drilled holes into the tile to put a door and then realized it was too small of a space so they added a shower curtain. Likewise the wood floor they made a wrong cut and just installed it instead of taking it out and cutting another piece. These type of things are not what I was expect at this price point.

Too impersonal Check-in was done via a mobile key. Only a guy behind the bar. Never had any housekeeping in our 4 night stay. Understand it’s an expensive time in NOLA but you expect to get some service. There was a sign in our room that said you had to run the shower and the faucet to get hot water. Did this for 5 minutes and no hot water. The next day was better.

The hotel was very neat and clean and the staff was very professional.

Check in was suppose to be for 4pm but my room wasn't ready until 6pm which was very inconvenient for me. I had to find places to go until I was able to check in.

We came and stayed for 3 nights for St. Patrick's Day. Great Location, very cute and clean hotel. The covered porch on the ground floor is awesome and has picnic tables that we utilized several times. There is coffee in the room, but they also have a coffee shop onsite. We had read several reviews that said the neighborhood was sketchy, but we walked to the St. Charles Streetcar (which was only 2 blocks away) at all times of day and night and never once felt unsafe. Nor did we think it was a sketchy neighborhood. I put pics of the houses across the street - which we thought were beautiful! Pics of the Hotel online are accurate. Fresh Market is a "knight's move" away from the hotel, and there are several restaurants within walking distance. We had planned to rent bikes, and found they were not necessary due to how easy the public transportation was to manuever. (Nola RTA app can be downloaded). However, there was a Blue Bike self rental depot down the street. The bikes were electric. (Nola blue bike app can be downloaded) so one day we did ride bikes. We were just about equal distance between Tulane University - which is very close to some of the most beautiful parks we've visited (Audubon Park - pics included), and the French Quarter. Towards the river, we visited a couple of quaint neighborhood pubs in the Irish Channel, as well as a couple of breweries along Tchoupitoulas street. These were close enough for us to walk to, but UBER was so inexpensive that we "Ubered" back to our hotel. It was off the beaten path, but convenient and close enough to get anywhere in a reasonable timeframe.

There are only 2 things that would have made the hotel a little better for us. We did not care for the chair in the room. While adorable, and comfortable for me, my Hubby is a bigger guy, and we were not sure his weight would be supported, so the only other place to sit was on the bed. The only other thing I could complain about was the bathroom latch. The bathroom door is a very cute barn style door, but the latch stuck out, and we scraped against it almost everytime we went in there.

This hotel was extremely comfortable, clean, and the bed was better than my own at home. The check in experience was a breeze, and I was in my room in under 5 minutes. I felt the security of the hotel was tip top, and the cafe downstairs was adorable. But seriously, the best part of the stay was that bed. Turn the AC down and make it cold and find the "fireplace" screen on the TV-best sleep of your life.

"Didn't like" is a little too harsh-the only thing I was mildly disappointed in was the location-while it was away from the hustle of Bourbon Street (I LOVED that part!) it was a slightly long-ish walk to Magazine Street and some of the more locals' nightlife. This is easily remedied by having access to Uber :)

Place looked newly renovated, everything was super clean, the whites down to the white wall paint didn’t have a spot on it. Stuff was very prompt and nice, literally took him like 2 seconds to check us in. Bed was comfortable. Great air conditioning, even had to cut it off for a sec because my wife got cold. Outside lounge area was relaxing. It was a little distance from Bourbon and Canal St but only took $20 to Uber there which is way cheaper than driving our car and paying $30-$40 to park in the inner city. Plus the Uber was the best idea anyway because we would been too lit to drive back anyways. 10/10 over all especially given the fact of the value we booked for during Essence Fest.

There was nothing I didn’t like really. The neighbor hood I thought was a little sketchy at first but after I realized that they had security riding around over night and our car was in the exact same condition we left it in. Very satisfying. Only other thing I can think of if I had to say something that wasn’t perfect but worked was the bathroom door latch that I kept hitting going in and out of the bathroom but I don’t think it’s much they can do to change that. Wouldn’t recommend more than 2 people to a room but we had a king sized room so I don’t know if other rooms are bigger. Still overall 10/10

The patio of the hotel was nice. The coffee from the attached shop was good. Everything was decorated well. The beds were really comfortable and it was quiet. Everything was very clean.

It would've been nice if there was a gym. We didn't have to interact with anyone at the hotel for check-in due to the mobile key available on your phone which worked for us but some people might not like. You could get a physical key if desired but not after 9 pm. It's near some very nice areas of the city, but also bordering on some less safe areas of the city so you just need to pay attention where you're walking around in the area. The bathroom was rather small.

The Marsh Hotel is an absolute gem. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The showers are hot and the water pressure is perfect. We stayed here as a group of friends in town for a wedding. We loved the hotel bar/coffee shop and the common space courtyard to hang out in during down time. The staff is incredibly nice and accommodating. They treated us like family. I highly recommend the Marsh Hotel!

One thing that could be improved upon is adding some room darkening curtains. The blinds didn't work well and the mornings are bright.

I loved the style of the hotel very quiet, very comfortable, staff were very friendly and polite. I love the outdoor area, the coffee was amazing and the cocktails. It felt very safe unlike the other reviews I read I had no issues with the hot water.

I didn’t like that there was no elevator however the stairs were not horrible but I feel like it’s something that should be advertised. I also think a luggage cart of some sort would be nice for guest. It takes a while for the room to cool off. since there isn’t a 24 hour clerk for guest there should be area guest can pick up necessities like towels and other items needed.
