When we arrived the owner explained that our room was on the 3rd floor which I had not realised when we booked and I have arthritis in my knees. I asked if there was anything on a lower floor and he said that he did have a room that was available so I asked how much it would cost to have that one, the owner explained that as it was a Monday night and a quiet time he would move us to this room for no additional charge which we thought was very good of him and we greatly appreciated it. The room was large and the bed was comfortable and the owner helped us to carry our cases up the stairs which was also greatly appreciated. There was no tea and coffee making facilities in the room but I asked if we could make a drink and was shown where things were that we could use. The breakfast was continental but with a good choice and fresh fruit available. The restaurants belonging to the property were not open on Monday and Tuesday so the owner directed us to a nearby place which was good.

Breakfast was ok, but the other restaurants were awesome. Was hoping to get a room With a jacuzzi tub, but maybe next time. Very Lovely property and helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Wonderful experience!

Shower in Wednesday rain ok was complicate to use.

Excellent breakfast …

The only problem was that there is no shelf or anything in the shower (Saturday room) to put shampoo, soap or whatever.I liked the rain shower on the ceiling but it would even be better to have a wall shower option.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Belfry Inn, the staff were very helpful, our bedroom was very nice and the beds were really comfy. We had a delicious burger on our first night and went to the bistro on the second night which was superb!

I made the reservation on booking.com which made it seem like all rooms were in the church building. There is actually at least one other bldg next to the Belfry. On-site parking was appreciated. To my surprise, our room, Idas Room, was not in the Belfry, it was next door to the Belfry in a tall attractive Victorian style house called “The Painted Lady”. The ground floor was a hamburger restaurant called Next Door. We were a bit surprised by all this, but took it in stride as we were ushered next door to our room, which was up some narrow spiraling staircases. It was cute clean and white. To my chagrin, It lacked any chair to sit on so we used the beds to relax on. I am friendly but did not receive any warmth at checkin, nor at breakfast which is served in The Belfry building (previously a church). Do not get the waffles you will not be happy. This place was a bit of a splurge for us and, although it was charming and clean, we didn’t feel that the proprietor made it worth the extra we paid. Lackluster staff, no chair, very average breakfast.

Rather unwelcoming staff at reception and breakfast room. No chair in the room. Breakfast was average. Waffles were sandy tasting and dry.

The breakfast was specially prepared for your individual needs as well as providing the usual American Breakfast items. Yogurt, fruit, eggs, pastries, and sausage as well as coffee, milk and various fruit juice were available. Parking was ample and convenient.

The breakfast selection was good but could be further improved. The rear garden setting was excellent and very relaxing.

A little more variety in the breakfast offering would be a bonus.

The Abbey is beautiful and the food and service at the Bistro made for a wonderful dining experience.

We were supposed to receive vouchers because of a change in the breakfast due to COVID-19. The owner was away because of a death in the family. The managing staff was very pleasant but seemed extremely busy and overlooked directions on going to breakfast.

Beautiful stay, centrally located. The stained glass and overall architectural style felt warm, peaceful, and welcoming. Would definitely return!
