American Inn and Suites Houghton Lake

Breakfast was ok. Waffles were good.Location was super! Literally really close to food and gas, and both lakes were in not far distance. Front desk clerk when we arrived was very nice and helpful. Nightshift clerk was very friendly, tended to our needs, keep lobby and pool area very clean. Didn't have to wait long for extra towels. She was the best! She deserves recondition. There were cameras around the property, felt very secured. Hot tub was an added bonus, hot and roomy. Staff kept both pool and tub clean, some hotels don't care to check their pool areas, you did. Great access to front lobby and parking lot, Thank you!

More choices at breakfast. We did pay a decent amount of money to stay there. At least fresh fruit, and 1 breakfast meat, toast. And keep the orange juice machine replenished. Each day of our 5 days, the OJ was watered down. Wish they would of vacuumed our room at least once during our stay. Overall Nice hotel.

The Housekeeper and front desk staff were so friendly, they loved our Frenchie we took on vacation with us. This hotel is very pet friendly and that is hard to find! Also, the pool and hot tub are wonderful, even though the pool is not heated and a tad chilly. The family has so much fun just coming back after adventures to relax.

There were only 2 chairs and one small table on the patio by the pool, making it difficult for a family to get out of the pool to eat and get back in.

Breakfast was just enough. Suggest having some granola bars, some fresh fruit (even fruit cups) and maybe one type of sugar cereal for kids available. Bottled water or water cooler as well. Flavored creamer would have been awesome.

A little larger refrigerator in the room. Barely held a couple bottles of water yet alone any food leftovers for the night. A little bigger coffee maker. Our room only had a def packet. But coffee was available in breakfast area so not a big deal. Maybe have a few tea bags.

I liked how nice everyone was being we was homeless and everyone help us in every way they could and that you can have your pets with you I liked that we felt welcomed

I didn't like that we was told that y'all are going to where pets have to be 25 pounds or under not everyone has little dogs and we love going to your hotel I think if you are going to have a lemet on pounds should be at least 50 an under and I didn't like that it's $50 a night each dog when other hotels are only $10 a night an a little better breakfast food

The staff was very friendly and helpful if we needed something. The pool was very nice and refreshing after a hot day of travel. The nicest thing was that we had forgotten my wife's phone charger in the room and within 30 minutes of leaving, the front desk called us to tell us! Fortunately, we had not yet left the area, so we went back for the charger. Kudos to the staff here!

We have nothing negative to report. Everything met our expectations. I would definitely stay here again the next time we're in the area. Price was a bit high, but in line with all the other hotels in the area when all are nearly booked full.

Coming into the hotel the Front Desk attendant was welcoming, knowledgeable and confident. She informed us where everything is and the continental breakfast in the morning. It was quite a surprise to see how large the rooms were. The hotel was quite and the beds so comfortable. We fell right asleep. I wasn't sure when I booked the hotel but I I'm glad we did. I'll be staying next time we travel. The price was ood for the night

The breakfast was a little bland. 'the mini muffins were hard. More assortment with fresh fruit

Their was no bugs of any kind it was very quiet the staff was very helpful as they went and got me ok from the breakfast room as my sugar was low the breakfast could of been better a lot of carbs but it was ok for what it was the pool area was nice and clean the Landry room had acunits in it from rooms

Wish the pool area was open 24 hrs and wish they had soap and dryer sheets to buy in the laundry room. Area and a coin desperately and a lot better breakfast than they have

Great location and was very clean. Bed pillows were super comfy. Staff was very friendly. we would stay here again. Good value for the price.

Breakfast was lacking. expired milk in the fridge. Hot tub and pool were clean but need updating.

They were quickly able to accommodate us in a very late check in, as we just needed a place to sleep not in the truck for the night.

Only thing lacking was the continental breakfast. Only one waffle maker available, taste was normal. But oddly there wasn't any protein available.

everything staff was great no bugs of any kind and very quiet and rooms and halls was very clean pool area was clean and neat.

the plug for the phone didn’t work they gave me a block to use during my stay so I could charge my phone
