That there was a fire pit with wood and kindling. Also that there was a nice playground, pavilion, games, and other things that could be used. Obviously the bathtub had been replaced and the whole bathroom had be remodeled. The mini kitchen with stuff to make meals was unexpected and a nice touch. Also loved the fact that there was no need to check in or out of an office and that no key was necessary to enter the room

The room was a little small, but not bad. We were in room 16 and the drawers need work. There was either no guide or it needed to be fixed and a little bees wax to make them come out. The fire pit was in a hole and sloped around the edges. Making it really hard to arrange the wood and a bit uncomfortable to sit around. Raising it up and leveling the ground around it with maybe a few inches above the ground would make it easier to use especially for older folks that may have a harder time bending down.

It was easy to find. Contactless check in which was great for a late arrival. Text updates. Clean room, soft linens. Good water pressure. It looked like they had nice outdoor amenities but we didn’t get a chance to use them.

Only complaint would be the bed sagged in the middle causing you to roll to the center. There were two beds in the room. If we stayed more than one night I would have tried the other bed.

Check in was so easy, because our code was programmed into the door, and we could enter our cabin right away. We were suprised by the generously sized and clean living area of our cabin suite. It was wonderful to walk into. We had everything we needed - including a coffeepot, dishes in the kitchen, wastebaskets wherever you might need them, and plenty of towels in the linen closet. There was even a utility room in the cabin to put our used towels, so that we could keep the bathroom looking and feeling nice. We had a regular dining table, a high cafe style table, and a table on the deck with this unit. The television was working well and easy to operate (unlike some we can't even figure out in motel rooms!) The morning we checked out, we discovered a 'game closet,' and pulled out a game to play while eating breakfast - that was fun. We have already decided to return here the next time we visit Hartwick Pines!

the microwave didn't work

This is an older, well maintained motel located just outside of town. It's clean and comfortable. It represents good value and I would recommend it to others.

The walls are thin so you and your neighbors can easily hear each other. This wasn't an issue for me but it might be for some others. This is the only reason that I answered no to the romantic getaway question.

we were camping during the weekend but after a massive rainstorm we discovered all our gear was soaked- friends recommended this motel and we were very impressed with its cleanliness. Nothing fancy but everything you need from a hotel. we only stayed one night and didn’t even get to sleep in because we had early morning activities to get too. But if circumstances we different I could see my family and I staying here for a weekend getaway or vacation

Woodland Lodge is comfortable, clean and close enough to town to be convenient yet, outside of the suburbs. I love the trees, campground atmosphere and the kitchenette in the room. The owners have been accommodating and helpful both times I have stayed there.

Grayling has become busier and the road noise carries. Since our room faced the road we could hear the trucks. It was not enough to keep us from sleeping though.

This is a clean comfortable no frills place that is perfect for those who don't need anything else. It is perfect for fishermen and birdwatchers who like to get up and go in the morning. Remote check in and billing and a very reasonable price are included.

We didn’t have time to get the breakfast and didn’t hear about it anyway. No big deal. Check in was easy, room was clean and cozy comfortable. We will return if we ever need to stay in the area again 🙂

The parking lot was a huge ice puddle. Deep and icy under the water. No parking close to our door. I got soakers and was sliding all over nearly falling multiple times. Annoying to have to dry out my shoes and socks but everything else was great.

I love that the bathroom is renovated and clean. Everything was so cute and functional and I adore the fact that we can do self check in and check out. The owner is so friendly, this place is just perfect. cannot wait to be back ! Thank you 😊

We spent one might here. It's a very traditional, 1-story motel. The exterior was impeccably maintained and had a very peaceful, retro vibe. The room was your basic motel room, was clean and cozy, and had extra pillows. The info from the owner was very welcoming. Our room was away from the road, which was great. The A/C was quite.
