Holiday Inn Express & Suites Muskegon, an IHG Hotel

The property was brand new and it showed. I could even smell the construction scent lingering in the hallway. And no, this is not a complaint. I have stayed in several much more expensive hotels and they were by far not even close to as nice as this property. I will absolutely stay here again when I am in the area and will not even look at another place! I loved the simplicity of the furniture, most especially the little coat rack/wall shelf for your jacket and keys. So often overlooked, it was a detail I loved! And the bed was very comfortable. And I LOVE the new two-part blinds rather than the typical curtains. They blocked out the light better AND it minimizes places for dust to collect over time. These little details will make my stay 10 years from now still be as enjoyable as now. It will be easy for housekeeping to keep the rooms clean which is a huge part of what makes me feel comfortable and relaxed while away from home. And breakfast was great also!

It took me a minute to figure out how to turn off the uplights at the top of the closet. Loved the ambiance but I had a 30 second panic thinking I would have to sleep with them on all night. Maybe a little note about how to shut them off posted somewhere would save the next guest the same.

Everything was very nice. Clean rooms and facilities, breakfast was good and well stocked.

The pillows weren't great, sort of flat. It would be nice if you had some adult only time for the pool, maybe in the evening. Every time I tried to use the pool there were about a dozen children in it horse playing 😅 no thanks.

Rooms were clean. The bed were comfortable and the pillows were so nice as well. Breakfast was good and very friendly breakfast attendant. I appreciated the walk-in shower , seeing that I need a forward knee replacement soon

Our TV did not work at all.

Great location and reasonable price, friendly helpful staff, very clean hotel.

The hotel is only 6 months old, so they still have a few kinks to fix. They had to give us a different room because our original room window shades didn't work.

I love this location absolutely stunning —- hopefully other business will come out to this location

Nothing it was perfect

The 3-star hotel, which more or less corresponded to that.

Bathroom could have been better furnished, seems like unfinished. Breakfast was same every day and no fruits or vegetables.

It was clean

There was an odor in the rooms that did not smell fresh and clean and the apps did not work on the tv as advertised and the pool was small and no jacuzzi

The area was nice and the property was new

The rooms had a weird smell, there is no jacuzzi and I had to wait two hours before my room was ready, Netflix did not work internet kept going in and out

The front desk was very rude. He charged us more and just kept repeating "we have our own price, we don‘t honor booking.com‘s price." If we stayed inside the room long enough, we had difficult to breath, due to the strong smell from the wall paint. WIFi was on-and-off.
