Our room was, in fact, a King Suite and included a King Size bed, fireplace, a full kitchen, a Jacuzzi, a sofa, a small table and 2 chairs and a double headed, 2-person shower. It also had a balcony that overlooked the marina and White Lake. Everything was clean and neat and worked well. The room was very comfortable and quiet (except for the early morning dredging at the marina docks. Certainly not the fault of the inn). Breakfast was Continental with a very nice selection of breakfast foods, including pancakes and breakfast sandwiches (microwave). There was a nice selection of coffees (including Michigan Cherry, one of my favorites), and there was always HOT coffee available. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful.

Not really a dislike but this is a pet-friendly inn and there were a LOT of dogs staying there when we visited. I like dogs but there was enough barking to be noticeable. The location is good but most of the restaurants are a fair walking distance from the inn. Fine for me but could be difficult for older folks or those with disabilities. Neither of these issues would prevent me from staying here again.

Check-In was easy. Room with a balcony was just what I expected. Nice to hang out with evening beverages and morning coffee. Good view over the marina. Close walk to town. The continental breakfast served it's purpose to fuel us for the morning. I like that coffee was offered during my entire stay. There is a nice walking/biking path that goes for miles and miles. I want to come back with my bike.

I reserved 2 rooms. One for me and my husband and a second for our single friend. It was odd that he got the duel shower head 2 person shower but my husband and I got the 1 man shower. LOL

We had a lovely stay here. All the staff was very friendly, the bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, everything was clean, and I especially love that they had a chromecast system set up so we could stream from our own netflix, etc.

The only negative thing about our stay was that we were in a room facing the parking lot, and we had to keep our blinds closed all the time because otherwise, everyone could easily see right into our room. It was a bummer to have no natural sunlight during the day because of this, and I'd encourage the property to put a privacy film over those windows, or hang sheers.

Goodness- this is now our favorite place to get-away to. It's clean, cozy, staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Our room was very clean, well appointed and perfect for our stay. The jacuzzi tub was amazing and they have plenty of hot water to soothe those tired muscles. The fireplace creates a lovely ambiance and cozy nook especially in the cooler off season months. The taller toilets are much appreciated too- it's the simple things! The mattress is really soft, I found it very comfy and slept 8.5 hours on our second night! We definitely will be back next fall! We've had breakfast here before- the only thing I could wish for were a few more gluten free options. Otherwise, it's pretty standard good "free" breakfast fair. If they run out of anything, you can ask if they have more. Often they do. Other notes from Hubby- Unfortunately, the pancake machine was down this trip around. Oh, if your sweet tooth hits ask to see if they have any ICE BOX brand ice cream bars! 5$ a bar of locally made deliciousness!! A great late night treat! Things to see or do (and eat!) in the area- Country Dairy in New Era is fantastic! Great little spot for a lunch and farm tour. Family owned and run. Baby calves, bottomless chocolate milk with your lunch, horse drawn wagon farm tour- need I say more and the best cinnamon rolls ever! Little Sable Lighthouse- beautiful beach any time of the year! We love the Whitehall lighthouse station- we hear it's haunted! The scenic drive all the way to Muskegon! Silver Lake Dunes. For food we absolutely love Oh Brother's- the brisket spring rolls are killer, my favorite is the beef tips and noodles. Hubs said the Jumbo Wings! We also enjoyed Bone Ends - both have excellent service!

The couch in our room (101) has seen better days sadly. It's really low to the floor and a tad difficult to haul yourself off of. They said they are in the process of replacing furniture, so I'm guessing (hoping) this one may be on the list. Please note - they are pet friendly! So you may hear an occasional bark or so. We did not hear it from our room - Thankfully, we only heard barking while in the common lobby area, and it was short lived. Just something to be aware of.

Staff was so nice and helpful, clean hotel, view was great. Loved the cookies in the evening!! Such a welcoming touch. Loved that small quaint town. Plenty of convenient parking and a cute grocery directly across the street. Small kitchen was great to cook small lunches and such for my husband and I.

Beds were not supper fluffy comfty but still decent! Blankets and pillows were nice. On Sundays everything was closed, this may just be an off season thing. Not many things around the area but for a get away its perfect small town vibes! You can hear other patrons in other rooms so thats a little annoying but personally not a deal breaker

There’s not much to NOT like about the Weathervane. Most rooms are equipped with a double whirlpool, double shower, fireplace, microwave, mini-fridge and so much more. On top of that, it’s dog friendly and very clean. We love it!

We would love if there was a restaurant occupying one of the adjoining properties. Or a pool. It’s also showing signs of needing a new paint job and other maintenance. Nothing serious yet but it needs to be maintained in order to command their prices.

Everything!! Great location looking out on the lake. Whirlpool was awesome. Nice balcony with chairs and a table. Comfy bed and sofa, small dining area. Shower was huge, nice free products and lots of soft towels. Microwave, fridge and gas fireplace in the room. Very good cherry coffee downstairs.

Loud neighbours next door whose conversations could easily be heard through the thin walls/connecting door. Beware of mosquitos coming inside in the evening, balcony door has no screen.

The cleanliness of the hotel was terrific! The staff was very friendly, and accommodating! The continental breakfast which ran from 7am to 10am was very nice...pancakes, and breakfast Sammy's were a plus.

The fact the fireplace is off for summer months was a bit of a bummer, but the hot tub in the room was sweet, and being that this is a pet friendly hotel...which I don't typically enjoy...you would NEVER know dogs stayed here. The hotel was super clean, and smelled fresh.

The room was excellent. It had a fire place and a jacuzzi tub in it. The bathroom had a walk in dual headed shower. There was a balcony which had chairs and a little table to sit at to watch people on the water.

The pilot light in our fireplace kept going out, simple fix; we just called the staff and the came to light it. Take a lighter with you incase it goes out on you as well. Also, if would have been great if they had shoveled off the balcony, another easy fix.... i just flipped the table over and used that.

Great location, breakfast options mediocre, but great options in coffee bar. Room clean and relaxing/spacious environment. The hotel lobby and patio is also aesthetically pleasing and peaceful (fish tank is cool!)

Breakfast selections. More fruit than just apple. Organic yogurt options would be nice. I find Activia is too sweet for my liking. A chobani or something organic and simple ingredients would have been ideal and nice to have in the selection.
