Courtyard by Marriott Kalamazoo Portage

The location was great. It was near many restaurants and attractions. But the best part was the guest service. The staff was so amazing! They were extremely kind and helpful in providing recommendations of nearby places to visit. Qwana, who works at the front desk, was beyond exceptional! Her energy was so welcoming and she was also happy to assist us. She truly made our experience even better! Please give her the raise she deserves. Her work ethic deserves compensation because her positive attitude is very hard to find in people, especially within customer service work settings. Give her that bag!!! I will definitely be back again to stay at the Marriott because she gave us such wonderful interactions.

The cleanliness in the rooms could’ve been a bit better. Some of the sheets smelled a bit old as if they weren’t dried properly. The appliances in the room, specifically the coffee maker, was filthy. The pictures on the website of the amenities could’ve been updated as well. I think the photos were a misrepresentation of the size of amenities. Smaller pool and gym than expected. Back patio area was also unavailable for use.

The pool was very cold, and hot tub was out of order! because of that; my kid couldn’t enjoy time in the water. this was the reason I chose the accommodation!

The desk clerk that night. There was a super loud party in a room underneath us. The desk clerk was trying to quiet them down but they did not quiet down so we moved rooms. Thank you again to the desk clerk that night, he was trying so hard to control the situation.

Room was just like photos. Clean and comfortable no problems. Easy check in.

The in closed pool area was small and very hot because the hot tub was right beside it. Water in pool was also warm.

It’s conveniently located and had great staffing.

I thought the hotel would had the newest amenities! I thought it was a brand new hotel. But this slight downfall would not stop me from staying here again.

Clean Staff Location

The only thing that I didn't like was there was no ice machine on the 1st floor. Other than that it was really really nice. The location was great, the staff was friendly . The rooms were cozy & cute.
