Upon arriving Marybeth greeted us with such enthusiam. The property has been part of her family for a long time and is steeped in local history. You will see photograhs and paintings of generations of her family and Marybeth explains how all of this came to be. The property is located in a quaint part of Nachez a short walk (50 paces) from the banks of the Mississippi and couldn't feel safer (we've just spend a few days in Memphis - a polar opposite to Nachez in every way). We strolled along the water front and ate the most fantastic food at the Magnolia Grill which came highly recommended. Local people are incredibly friendly and restored our faith in the south. We stopped in at the Corner bar for a nice refreshing beer before retiring to our lovely room. The room was comfortable, the property was spotless and breakfast and chatting with other guests was a great way to prepare to travel further south into the chaos of New Orleans. This was a perfect respite for our trip down the trace parkway - we only wish we had spent a little more time in this fantastic place. Marybeth - you are so lucky we didnt steal little Stinkpot - your dog is a cutie.

The short duration of our stay - however - we can't blame Marybeth for that. If we are down this way again - we can rectify that situation. If you've come via Memphis spend AT LEAST 1 day here to restore your faith in humanity.

The whole property was clean and comfortable. The beds were wonderful! The staff was friendly and loving and a pleasure to deal with. the property is located on the main street downtown, all shopping is walkable and only one block to the river.

Property was being painted externally rendering the beautiful front patio unusable. The upstairs bathroom does not have a usable full shower. The first morning we stayed was very chilly and the space heater in the green room bathroom was usable.

What a superb find! Traditional Bed & Breakfast in an old riverboat captain's house (still owned by the same family). Ideally situated for downtown Natchez (one street away from Main Street) and viewing many of the antebellum homes of the area by foot. A 15 minute stroll from the riverboat landing (although please note down a fairly steep slope - not recommended during the midday heat) where there are wonderful views of the Mississippi and the river crossing...catch a view of the sunset over the bridge if you can! Our host was so nice, welcoming, and informative. Excellent home cooked breakfast. Absolutely could not fault this place!!!

The place was superb. Only small gripe (but not the fault of the owner) is that Natchez is pretty much "closed" on a Monday! So try to stay a few more days if you are there over a Monday.

The location is central, near the Mississippi and you can walk everywhere. The hostess’ hospitality is outstanding. She cooks guests a breakfast using eggs from her chickens. She also helps guests find the different Houses, makes good restaurant recommendations, and told us about a photography exhibit in a church that we would not have known about. Mary Beth takes time to answer guests questions about the Southern region over breakfast. It is so relaxing staying in this period decorated Bed & Breakfast.

A grab bar in the bathtub for guests over age 65 would be nice.

Location was great and MaryBeth was as the best hostess ever. Her knowledge of the area and suggestions for sightseeing, restaurants and shopping was invaluable. She even carried our suitcases upstairs and her breakfast was absolutely delicious!

The stairs were a little steep for older people. Also the parking area would have been too far to carry our bags, if our hostess, MaryBeth, hadn’t carried them for us.

We ate breakfast 1 of our 2 mornings there because we left early our second morning. We were within walking distance to many nearby restaurants and attractions., especially the river bluff.

The bathroom in our room was a little cramped. We are used to taking showers and there wasn’t any room to stand in the claw foot club. The sink was also a little awkward to get to and use.

Quaint historic small B&B run by owner. Great location. Clean and comfy. We will stay there again.

If you are hyper sensitive to street noise or looking for high end/fancy, then this is not your place. It is located on a Main Street so there is road noise. Rooms include sound machines which worked for us. Our room had a shower but I know another only had a tub.

Mary Beth was a great host! Met us at the property to ensure we knew where everything was located and gave us a history of the home. Delicious breakfast in the morning. Very clean accommodations.

There was no shower curtain for the shower which is kind of odd.

The owner, Mary Beth, treats you like a family member. You can sit in her kitchen and chat while she makes breakfast! The bed was comfortable and the furnishings lovely. The location on Canal Street puts you within walking distance of most everything.

The hosts were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable with a great location with many restaurants in walking distance. There was a great homemade breakfast.

There could have been clearer instructions on where to park prior to arrival. The lock on the guest room door didn't seem very secure.
