Nice quaint, little place. The rooms are cozy and remind you of how hotels used to be. I think there were 7 cabins with two rooms in each like a duplex. The place has been remodeled but not too much to lose the old-school feeling. Coffee maker, hair dryer, tv, free wifi, A/C, Bluetooth radio and fridge with snacks included. Lots of Route 66 memorabilia outside and in the rooms. Back up or ride right up to your room. Has a really nice outdoor meeting area for groups or to just hang out and visit. Don't expect a Hyatt Regency, not what this place is about, just a cool little place with super friendy owners. Mom & Pop place.

It's the smallest sink in a bathroom I have ever seen with no counter space.

This is such a cute little place. There are just a few rooms and it's clear that they're all put together with a lot of care and attention to detail. And the beds were sooo comfortable that we all overslept! We will definitely be back when we're passing through on our next Route 66 road trip!

The lids of the ice buckets looked like they could use a wash. But other than that, everything was clean, comfortable, and well maintained! I guess the only other thing would be that we prefer non-dairy creamer as we're all lactose intolerant, but that's just a personal preference and we usually travel with our own stuff anyway.

The warmth of welcome and the genuine desire to delight were evident from the moment I met Phylis in the Car Park. Just as the property dates back to a bygone era, so did the level of service, cleanliness, and style. Anyone wishing to understand hospitality should spend some time with Phylis. One VERY happy customer.

Not a thing

Great sign, kitschy attention to detail in the room decor and great common areas outside. Always like parking right outside my door if "just crashing." No breakfast, but lots of snacks in the room. Phylis was nice. Best place so far on my Route 66 solo adventure.

Only thing was that the blinds and curtains weren't completely blackout, so woke up a bit earlier than I wanted.

Owner was really nice, the rooms and hotel were very clean. Loved the vintage decor and the work the owner put into restoration.

It was quiet, small, cozy and scrupulously clean. Price point was very good. There were small "extras" - a small basket of snacks, real ceramic coffee mugs, free bottled water, a can of air freshener in the bathroom, facial soap as well as regular soap - that took it from "Nice enough place" to "they paid attention to details". The person that checked me in was pleasant, polite and helpful. No checkout hassle - leave the key & lock the door... I really like this place and would definitely stay there again.

I'm being picky here, because there was little not to like. But the water took a while to run hot. It got there, but took a while. It *is* a little off the beaten track, but for me that was a plus not a negative.

No breakfast. AC wouldn't work overnight so very warm. Room very small for a couple. Strange floating bathromm/wardrobe door!

Authentic old Route 66 ambience with updated, super comfortable accommodation. Convenient location, space to relax and eat outdoors, friendly and flexible management.

I enjoyed my stay at Rockwood, it was very unique and nostalgic. The bed was also very comfortable. The owner was extremely nice and I would definitely stay there again.

I didn't love the neighborhood, but it was not a problem.

The route 66 decor (in the room & outdoors) is great. The staff/owners are really friendly. They have an area in the courtyard where the guests can sit & chat. There are several places to eat within a few minutes drive.
