The hotel was close to freeway so easiy to get around and about. Parking was very close to hotel. Breakfast was great! Kids enjoyed the stay and the breakfast. The pool was a plus as the kids got to enjoy a pool time.

Our reservation got a little moxed up but was easily resolved and fixed. Although says non-smoking room, we got a room that had smoking smell. Everytime we closed the bathroom door, smokes gets inside through the wall vent in the bathroom. The bathroom have no vent fan, only a entire building exhaust fan. Carpet is outdated and a bit dirty, and room doesn't smell fresh due to the aging carpet.

This Best Western in Hickory NC was in a great location, near the highway for convenience but not too loud to disturb my sleep. Breakfast was excellent with eggs and a side meat every day, along with biscuits and gravy and fresh made waffles. An abundance of fruit was also offered. Having coffee and bottled water available all day was also great. Staff was very helpful and everywhere was very clean.

Knowing in advance that there is no elevator to reach the 2nd floor of the hotel would have been helpful, as I would have requested a first floor room as my husband and I are both seniors and carrying our large suitcase up and down the staircase was very difficult.

Great place, especially for the money. Felt like a safe area. My room was nicely decorated and extremely clean. Outlet situation was good. The pool area was nice, with tables/umbrellas and chairs. All employees I encountered were friendly and helpful.

My bed felt like it was on an incline because I kept sliding down to bottom. Would love to have had an option for queen beds. There were some ants and bugs in the room. Breakfast was just okay. Would have liked to have eggs, sausage, etc like most hotels do now for their free breakfast. Parking was scarce. I came in later one night and was lucky to find a spot. Vending machine near my room was empty. Wifi was TERRIBLE. I had to use my mobile data the whole time we were there.

Our room was spotless and the beds were extremely comfortable. The staff was amazing. From check in thru check out every single staff member we talked to, and I think we met them all, was exceptionally nice and very helpful. They were the reason we extended our stay.

Our only complaint was that we could not stay and enjoy the pool another day!

The breakfast lady was very cheery and passionate about her job. She made the best peanut butter cookies we have ever had. We liked the peaches, pineapple and blueberries. The room was older, but clean and comfortable. We were able to go into the room earlier than usual time.

The internet went slow or dropped out now and again. The pillows were too fat for smaller people and sheets not wide enough for king bed.

John, at the desk, deserves a 5.5 out of 5 stars. He is very friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We were given a room recently renovated, which was excellent, except that was next to the vending machines. We could not sleep the first night. In the morning, I went and talked with him, and immediately he moved us in another room. The other 2 nights were great to sleep; no noise at all (we stayed 3 nights). When you book, ask for John: he will take care of you.

Rooms were a little too small and the lighting inadequate. Also, the lighting in the bathroom, it looks modern, with the bulbs behind the mirror, yo cannot see your face in details; especially women putting on make-up. It also needs another mirror attached to the door, so women can see their back while doing hair.

Right off the bat the man working the front desk was very welcome and such a pleasure to talk too. He told us his name -may have been Steve? Our room was very clean and the breakfast was very good! Wonderful stay. We will be back!

Would love some board games as an option to rent from front desk. The nice man looked for some but couldn’t find any.

Great location near lots of things like shopping, food, sights. Great staff, very friendly. Great room, I asked for a quiet room with private entrance. Clean, clean, clean EVERYWHERE was nice and clean!! Great breakfast, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, and plenty of healthy options. The staff kept everything refreshed to be sure nobody ran out of anuthing.

We found this motel to be an exceptional value and so close to the Interstate and everything we needed. Although it is an older motel, it was exceptionally clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the room came equipped with a TV, microwave, fridge, and coffee machine - all in good working order. We are not fancy people and prefer to have a reasonable price for the basics rather than luxury at a steep price. I was also able to use the computer in the business area so I did not have to lug a laptop. Continental breakfast was just fine, too - with restaurants nearby for those who want bacon and eggs. The lobby was very comfortable and beautifully decorated for the holidays. Staff were cheerful and so helpful.

The young guy who checked me in wasn't really rude, but he needs tips on being a little more personable and not so robotic. Also, there is highway noise.
