Holiday Inn Express Fairfield, an IHG Hotel

Assistant General Manager Heather Smith saved the day for us on Sunday, June 25th! My husband and I are on a 38 day road trip, stayed 3 nights, and were planning to see our kids/grandkids/great-grandkids for swimming and pizza…but a large group that was also in-house, unfortunately caused issues with the pool (and a broken window!) and it had to be drained, of course, on Sunday! Heather contacted a sister property 2 hotels down the road, Townplace Suites by Marriott, and arranged for us to use the pool at that property. Heather went way above and beyond…and we are extremely grateful for the service she provided! Thank you Heather Smith!!! 😊

Breakfast was outstanding/delicious and the quantity and quality unmatched. We were in the area for a close family member’s funeral. We were calling places and checking online and kind of desperate so glad to find a place and said only 5 some miles from Hamilton. We had planned to stay at the courtyard Marriott downtown Hamilton where we had stayed for another relative’s funeral, but decided the price was outrageous! Even with the HI Express one night was one price the 2nd night unknown unless you booked it and no cancellations so we took the total price offered on Bookings.com. I asked for a handicapped room with hip problem and was told it was 1st come 1st served and nothing available when we checked in. Room was spacious, bed and bedding pristine white. So impressed by bubbly, super friendly little person clerk at front desk-very sweet and helpful. Only negative was a dead cockroach in elevator to side of door that was there at least 2 days.just

Just commented on bug previously. Was also surprised when checking on prices that instead of maybe being rewarded by a discount or guaranteed same price for subsequent nights 2nd night most places higher if they would tell you and then all the fees on top of that and then tax was 12.5.

Friendly staff and good location near the highway and our destination. Easy in and out via a side street that had a traffic signal. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Nice selection of food at breakfast.

I missed the waffle maker (they had a pancake machine). Pool was too warm, almost uncomfortable being in the pool room. Television in the room was not a smart TV (I could not log into my streaming services).

The young lady working the desk Friday evening was really helpful to us with directions to avoid the traffic nightmare we just endured on I-75. There did not seem to be any other staff, although the room was ready and clean. Unfortunately, on the day we were to leave our third floor room, the elevator broke and it was very difficult for me to navigate all the steps as I am partially disabled. Very close to restaurants. The breakfast was not huge, but tasty.

Indoor pool was very cool for a heated pool, but the kids loved it.

It was close to the medical facility we had appointments set at, which was nice.

Lots of noise from room above, sounded like occupant was jumping rope for hours, Really wanted first floor because of back injury issues, ended up taking the stairs and suffering through the pain. We found previous occupants used socks next to the bed and fake eyelashes next to the TV remote. Thought it would be cleaner being still in COVID clean up rules. We wiped all the surfaces down with disinfectant after finding those items and sprayed the bed with Lysol.

The hotel provided sufficient accommodations for our family during our trip to Miami University’s Spring 2021 Commencement.

I booked multiple rooms and had a room cancelled prior to arriving and then was overcharged a upon our arrival; neither the Holiday Inn Fairfield staff or Booking.com took immediate action and responsibility for our inconvenience. Needless to say, I was NOT pleased with the way my booking and payment transaction was handled nor with the professionalism, kindness and competency of the hotel and Booking.com representatives.

The breakfast was great. Was told that there would not be room service for cleaning during our 2 day stay due to being the weekend.

Wish the trash cans would have been a little bigger in the room due to having a 2 year granddaughter and dirty diapers. Went to local store and bought larger trash bags to take care of the issue.

We were treated very well. The staff was polite and knowledgeable. We loved the breakfast and couldn't believe all the great food on the buffet. Mary, the lady who set up and served the breakfast was super friendly. We had a great conversation with her. Our stay was only one night but wish we could have stayed longer.

Nothing, we liked everything.

The breakfast was delicious, there was much to choose from. The pool was fun for my kids and not too difficult to get used to the temperature. The outdoor patio was a nice place to dry off after the pool. Our room location was great, we had our dogs and we were close to the exit. The room itself was roomy and comfortable. I loved that there was a regular sized hair dryer instead of that screechy little white one that are usually in hotels.

Loved the breakfast bar. Loved the hotel.

Maids threw away my retainer. Going to cost me a lot of money. Would have been perfect if
