My Place Hotel-Portland East, OR

Nice, newer and clean room. Comfortable bed. Full kitchen in the room. 9 minutes from Edgefield.

Very close to the highway and constant traffic noise. Homeless people and garbage in the field nearby. I was told twice I could do late checkout but the front desk person CAME TO MY DOOR and asked if I was leaving even after we called the front desk and told them we were doing noon checkout. No breakfast or pool or workout facilities. Staff was in training and couldn't answer some questions and didn't activate my key the first time. No pet area.

Upon checking in, we were greeted warmly which was nice after a long day of traveling. Our room was clean, the bed was firm yet very comfortable. It was nice surprise to discover both a firmer and softer pillow on the bed to make each of us comfortable. Everything in our room worked- shower, hairdryer, outlets, tv, microwave, coffeemaker, icemaker. This was our first time staying in a MyPlace so we didn't know what to expect. I brought my IP and was able to cook meals in our room. The kitchenette was perfect.

The only thing I can say "negatively" about our visit was when we were leaving, there were MyPlace employees standing outside the front door smoking, not that we're judging but maybe have a separate place for employees who need a smoking break rather than the front door. The actual grounds of MyPlace were nice. The outside surrounding area does have a lot of garbage and evidence of houseless living there.

Property is new and clean. Room is equipped with kitchen (note: you need to bring your own cooking tools and plates and cutleries). It has a good size fridge with icemaking machine (perfect for coolers when visiting places during the day). Bed and pillows are soft and comfy. Price is excellent and parking is free! This place is about 20 to 30 mins away to Multnomah falls, the grotto , oregon zoom and downtown portland. Close to everything. Staff is pleasant and polite.

Location was a little far from Portland proper, but it has extremely easy freeway access and the room itself was not only beautiful and clean, but spacious and nice and chilly with a good ac unit. This was very much appreciated as it broke over 90 degrees during our stay. The room even had everything for a full kitchen shy of an oven and a dishwasher, with a stove, a full sized fridge, microwave, and decently large sink with dishwashing supplies included with the room. Excellent hotel, even more so when you consider it only cost $100 a night for a 2 queen room with all those amenities

The location is outside of Portland so this is not a place to stay in the city but if you are heading to Columbia River Gorge it is perfect as the exit to the highway is very close. The facilities are great, there is a big parking lot, elevator, laundry room available if you need it (additional charge), coffee & hot water available, very helpful staff.

When we entered the room there was smell of tobacco and there was a plastic bag on the fire alarm, looked like housekeeping staff missed it, though it should be non-smoking.

The rooms were squeaky clean. The beds are super-comfy, everything is good about the room.

The room is listed with the kitchen. The kitchen does exist, but without anything. No plates, not cutlery, no pots or pans - absolutely nothing. What's the point of having it? This borders misrepresentation! We were told that the reason is inability to clean it properly during Covid. What?! How other hotels deal with this problem then? The staff gave us disposable cutlery and paper plates and suggested we buy pans in a dollar store (that did not have any). Weird.

The coffee in the lobby was nice in the morning. I wish it would’ve had a continental breakfast. Everyone in the staff that I came in contact with was very friendly and smiling and asked how I was.

I can’t think of anything that could’ve been better. It was a new facility. Staff was great. The room was clean. It was awesome and out of microwave and refrigerator a recliner which I enjoyed.

The staff were incredible. A hotel that is close enough to Portland that you don't feel so out of it, but you don't feel that you are in a dangerous part of town. And free parking! Hard to come by with these hotels. The room that I had was extremely spacious also. A little annoying about the breakfast though, but we just brought our own cereal and milk. And a gorgeous view of the mountains also.

One of the beds had a strange stain on the linen and the sink by the kitchen kept on clogging up.

Great value and overall the best for the price. The facilities are well maintained. Between the soundproofing and comfortable beds, we slept really soundly.

The window shade was half broken in our room. It was hard to open and close. Also found some old soggy cereal in one of the cabinets so cleaning must not have been super thorough before we showed up.

the room had everything I could ever need. (stove, full sized fridge, arm chair, microwave). amazing value for the price. staff was also very friendly and could accommodate me with my late check-in just after midnight.

the only thing is it’s a bit far from most major attractions. perfect place to stay when arriving/departing Portland for its proximity to the airport.
