Secluded cabin close to shops, general store, coffee house and restaurants.
Parking for the cabin was shared with the restaurant and atrocious. Even though the signs say cabin parking, not available due to people parking there anyway!

Came for a day's bike ride around Cade's Cove on automobile free Wednesday, and it was wonderful. Our cabin had full kitchen facilities so we had dinner in each evening. The breakfasts at the Dancing Bean cafe (coffee's, muffins, bacon-egg-cheese sandwiches) were filling and complementary. The lodge is literally minutes away from the Great Smoky Mountains NP. Townsend TN is a far cry from Gatlinburg, the other gateway to the Smokies which I found to be too crowded. I can't wait to return to Townsend and the Dancing Bear Lodge. BTW, on our first night we crossed paths with a black bear as he ambled (not danced) across the road we were using to head back to our cabin. On our Cade's Cove bike trip we encountered 6 more black bears! Amazing! Loved this place....

The management of Dancing Bear has provided such amazing hospitality. The “hiking” gift basket with treats and waters was so thoughtful and appreciated. So enjoyed the granola. Love that there is a porch in back to go sit and enjoy the trees and being outside. The options for in room coffee with real cream in the refrigerator was so appreciated. Make sure you book the Appalachian Bistro on the property for a lovely dinner.
Wish we could have stayed longer.

We love the location and comfort of the Dancing Bear Lodge. Townsend is a great place to stay. The Lodge is on beautiful grounds, our beds are extra comfy. The property has everything you need.
The only complain was that the hot tub was not useable. The chemicals were so strong that air coming off the tub irritated your eyes.

We stayed in Twin Creeks (left) and it was awesome. Lots of space, king bed, full kitchen, and a hot tub. The staff was great. Breakfast at the Cafe was huge with the best biscuits ever, or at the coffee shop with very good pastries and coffee drinks. The location was perfect for the event we were part of plus easy access to the Park. We'll come back.
The only issue was the floor had been waxed and was a bit slick.

We loved the setting, very secluded yet everything you need is nearby. We had breakfast at the Apple Valley Cafe the first morning, and then did the Bluegrass Brunch at the Bistro the next morning. We were given two $10 breakfast vouchers for each night we stayed which we really appreciated! At the Apple Valley Cafe the food was very good. We both got large breakfast sandwiches and coffee, and with the breakfast vouchers we didn't owe anything. The Bistro was more expensive but we still got $10 off apiece, and it was definitely worth it. The bluegrass band was great and the buffet was top tier (shrimp and grits, sliced ribeye, biscuits and gravy, breakfast meats, eggs, fresh fruit, white chocolate bread pudding, etc. were all divine). All that said, the highlight of the property by far was dinner at the Bistro. We went for a few drinks and dessert the first night and right away loved it. The bartenders were great, service and presentation was top tier. We went for dinner the next night to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. Dinner was delicious, the service and ambience were again excellent, and despite being somewhat pricey we both agreed the quality of the food and dining experience made it well worth it. As for the room itself, the back porch was great to sit out on while we had morning coffee. I loved that there was a kitchenette, full size coffee maker with local artisan coffee provided, as well as coffee mugs, dishes, and silverware. The light in the rooms is great, tons of windows, and tasteful rustic chic decor. We also enjoyed the outdoor apparel store in the little village. We bought a few items and as a promotion they gave us a $20 gift card which we were able to put towards our dinner at the Bistro. Overall, I would recommend Dancing Bear to any couple looking for a relaxed, romantic getaway.
The front of our room was all glass, floor to ceiling windows, which we liked. However, the blinds that gave us privacy were not in very good shape when we arrived. Several were torn, broken, unable to be opened/closed, or hanging awkwardly. I was able to fix them enough to gain some privacy, but given the price of the stay I was surprised to find them in that shape upon arrival. Had this not been the case, I would have rated 10/10.

Wonderful lodge, beautifully located in the forest. Breakfast and dinner available in two restaurants and a coffee shop. Although close to the highway, you do not hear the sound of the traffic
If you want to do activities like rafting or go to Gatlinburg, it is a bit far.

Dancing Bear is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a quiet, peaceful visit to the Smokey Mountains. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very clean.
The roads around the cabin area can be a little narrow and you have to watch out for trees and branches.

The cabin was perfect for us! Cute and felt homey-we especially appreciated the welcome basket with hiking-safe snacks! The front porch with rocking chairs was a bonus-we loved sitting out on it and reading. And the breakfast was excellent!
The bathtub was a bit hard to get in and out of. And we could hear a lot through the shared wall.
