Holiday Inn Express & Suites Amarillo West, an IHG Hotel

Excellent place to stay. Accommodations very nice, clean, and food was great. I believe the staff went above and beyond for me. They were HONEST, kind and prompt to respond. Here is why. I accidentally left a necklace in the room, the necklace was very precious to me and a bit expensive as well. The necklace was left on the dresser by the TV stand. When I realized what I had done I called immediately the next morning and spoke with the front desk supervisor named Kimberly Williams. Kimberly said she would check with housekeeping. In a short time, Kimberly called me back. She had spoken with the housekeeping staff and a housekeeper named Noemi had found and turned in my necklace. I was told my necklace could be returned to me by mail and when I returned home 10 days later, the necklace was in my mailbox. If you are undecided, do not hesitate to stay here. Best place ever! Fantastic job Kimberly and Noemi!

This property was our favorite stay by far. I was a little nervous, as we arrived after dark, and I had read that Amarillo as a city was not exactly the safest. In the dark, it seemed a little ominous on the outside. We couldn’t have been more wrong stepping inside, however, as it was beautiful. Our room was super clean and very nice, and it was one of the best nights sleep I got (I’m 7 months pregnant). We were very pleasantly surprised at how wonderful our stay was! And the breakfast was the best also, both in terms of variety of choices (yummy pancakes!) and how well stocked. Loved it!

The only downside was that the parking lot was pretty full, so we had to park around the back. Not a huge thing, but walking around the building with our suitcases to the front was not my favorite being so pregnant. I think there was a door in the back we maybe could have entered with our key, but it was dark and someone was out smoking beside the door, so it wasn’t where I wanted to go (still under the ominous impression then). Other than more parking, it was perfect!

We were fully impressed with this hotel. The lobby was clean, spacious and had a wonderful aroma. We were happy to open the door to our room to find it welcoming and well appointed. The closet was large. The room had ample seating spaces, lights and table top areas. The bathroom was one of the largest I’ve seen except for luxury resorts. There was a TV in the bathroom! Dove body wash, shampoo and conditioner was provided in the shower/bathtub. The lights switches on the wall lit up with a little red light (nice touch)! Our king size bed was comfortable with labeled pillows (2 soft and 2 firm). We had a mini Keurig coffee pot, microwave and small fridge. The breakfast was fantastic with a lot of options. They had the auto pancake maker, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and sausage gravy, cereal, fruit, yogurt, muffins, cinnamon rolls, oatmeal, walnuts, apple juice, orange juice, lemonade, milk, chocolate milk and even Jif peanut butter packets! I would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

I have zero complaints.

this is an amazing hotel! the rooms were fantastic. microwave, fridge, desk, chair, chair table, reading lamp… the list goes one. breakfast was delicious. had great seating. the pool! oh my gosh. the kids loved it after a long day of driving. pup came with us and pet fee was average. can I mention the lady at the front desk, Kim, who needs a promotion! or at least a raise/employee of the month. she went above and beyond! not only did she run the front desk, she answered questions from customers, answered the phones and ensured clean/warm towels were at the pool. I’m convinced she is the reason everything runs smoothly. this is the second time being here and we have saved it as our favorite so we can stay again. YOU will not be disappointed. if for some reason you are, Kim will be there!

My husband has a Telsa and we were pleasantly surprised that the hotel had an EV charger. I suggest that you advertise that luxury.

We stayed in room #215 and it was a room that was equipped for handicapped people. The bathroom was perfect for a person in a wheelchair to move around, but in my opinion, why did you add a tub with a fold-down seat? It would be better to just have a shower only with a fold-down seat. The tub is small and useless and with the seat attached to the wall, it makes taking a shower confining.

The front desk lady named Bridgett needs to learn how to talk to guest. She was very disrespectful to me because my My credit card was declined. She said well do you have a credit card that works. The card getting declined was my fault as I forgot to inform credit card company I was traveling. I did not get a notice from booking.com of the situation. She canceled my rooms and told me I had to pay 159.00 a night. Then she just walked off and told another lady help who was very helpful and let me have the room at the price online. There was also kids throwing food out of the 3rd floor window at us when we were in the parking lot. I’m not sure why the windows have no screen on them or why they open fully. The front desk did address this with the guest staying in that room.

Friendly staff, clean rooms and great food/beverage options. When we checked in, they couldnt find our reservation. Turned out booking.com switched my first and last name, but the woman that checked me in figured it out and was real helpful. We ordered food at 9 pm and they forgot the grilled chicken on the salad. They called the chef and he came back to grill it up to make it right. Definitely above and beyond. And the chef for the morning breakfast was fast, friendly and the food was yummy!

If I had to say one thing, it would be that they were resurfacing the asphalt near the front, so parking for check in was limited. But the staff apologized several times for the inconvenience and really did what they could to make it as less of a hassle as possible.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the pillows were amazing. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. We were amazed to see a TV in the bathroom.

Checking in. Booking.com would not let me see a confirmation number until I downloaded an app. The app link wouldn't download. The front desk couldn't see a reservation, so I had to book again. This time I got a reservation, but it turned out that we were booked with a sister property a short distance down the road. Now Booking.com has charged us twice for one room. NOT HAPPY!

This is a relatively new build hotel and is fresh and clean. Good sized room that was also comfortable. Reasonable breakfast choices available and food was of good quality and freshness. The hotel location is convenient to access to / from the freeway and is only a 10 minute drive from the historic old town Highway 66 strip which we visited to enjoy the old style feel and some great food.

Nothing to dislike relating to our one night stay.

Size of the breakfast area could have been larger, and or have the staff clean tables on a more frequent basis. The bed, not sure if they had old mattresses but, it seemed to slump in the middle. Also I did not bring it to the attention of the staff but had to deal with loud noises (stumping and running) on the room above us. Glad they finally stopped at 11:30 PM
