Barb and Strick were perfect hosts, friendly and accommodating. They are really chatty, informative and nice but also leaves you alone if that's what you prefer. Being Vegan I was curious how they would accommodate that, it was no problem. I got what i asked for for breakfast and was really pleased! The old house with it's history is facinating and beautiful. I would definately choose to stay there again if we're visiting Austin TX again, and would reccomend ohter's to check this hidden gem out!

The outdoor pool was not always so clean. Were some little critters floating about when I went for my morning swim.

Why stay in a generic hotel when you can stay in this lovely old house? Comfortable, charming, with elegance and grace, it's like going home to a REAL home at the end of the day.

Breakfast could use some improvement, though the self-serve aspect is extremely convenient. I took my coffee and yogurt and sat on the back porch and listened to the birds.

This is an early 20th Century house with wonderful verandas on which we could sit in a variety of settings at all times of day. We particularly enjoyed lazy outdoor breakfasts and reading on the swing seat in the evenings. There was also a swimming pool and nice garden. The host was friendly. Tea and coffee available all day. The property had free parking, the house was near a very useful bus route to downtown, and there was a cluster of restaurants and useful shops nearby.

We were initially surprised at the very hands-off policy; reception was a note on the door, breakfast was entirely self-service and there was no servicing of the room. However, it worked out fine for us.

This is the most charming place I’ve ever stayed! The back yard in unbelievable and a great place to unwind and relax. Wonderful location and had everything one needs for a great stay.

There’s nothing I didn’t like. Timing didn’t work to meet everyone who works there but I enjoyed the short time with those I was able to meet. James gave me a great tour for my late arrival (8pm).

The owners were so sweet & hospitable. The room was perfect for my husband and me to have a relaxing getaway weekend. The location was great, too - near lots of restaurants. Our room took us back to Victorian times with the tall four poster bed, lace curtains, and heavy wooden doors. It was just the cutest house, and would be perfect for a girls' trip, too!

The breakfast was very disappointing for a bed & breakfast. They were still not cooking hot breakfasts due to the virus in the February 2022. Hoping they start cooking again as they pictures on here looked amazing.

Very much liked being able to make coffee and eat any time I wanted. Stricklands were very nice and gladly available if we needed anything Great location to restaurants, places to walk, and family. plenty of towels and wash cloths great to have luggage racks loved the porches

room had a lot of large furniture for the size.

I loved the pool area for relaxing on a hot day. The room was spacious and comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The location was very convenient and there are many restaurants and shops in the vicinity. It's also well-connected to public transportation.

We felt like home in this marvellous old house. The room was big, the garden green and our hosts so welcoming and yet discrete. The breakfast is made of fresh fruits, pastries and cereals/mueslies. The neighbourhood is calm and beautiful. You will need a car to move around the city. We loved it so much and will come back at Strickland arms B&B. Thank you to Strick and his wife !

The location was great. The experience was great. The bed and breakfast seems to have aged and the upkeep of the property is not well represented in the online pictures. The value was great and the owners are sweet as pie.

There was sap all over our car from the tree. We had to get a car wash.

Info about parking at check in: I was able to determine where the off the street lot was but not initially before unloading when it would have been more convenient
