The front counter check-in gentlemen was the nicest I’ve encountered while visiting this property over the years.

The eggs on the breakfast buffet are not real eggs. The rest of the buffet is great.

Love the size of the room and the breakfast was great! Loved the ocean view from the room.

The balcony rail was loose

The room is very big and roomy! Breakfast is great, the pool is clean, rooms were cleaned and smelled clean, staff is patient and super helpful, every room has an ocean view and it's right now the road from everything. It's almost perfect

The air conditioners won't cool below 75 in the summer. We have stayed at this hotel a few times and it's been like that for years. I'm not sure why because other hotels cool fine. we have a stash of small fans so we packed several this trip and it made it so much more comfortable but it's still ridiculous that nothing has been done in all these years.

Location is perfect. The main traffic is closer to the center of Galveston. Being on the Seawall and close to the beach is one of my main requirements. This location provides both. Also, all rooms have a balcony and faces the Gulf. The breakfast provided in well maintained and offers great choices.

Three times this visit I had difficulty with the key-card system. On the second time, the entire system had to be replaced. The maintenance crew arrived in less than 30 minutes, which was great, but it took another 30-45 minutes to replace. Two days later, the card didn’t work again. I had to go back to the desk twice before being able to open the door. It was mostly just frustrating and time consuming.

We have stayed here several times and like its convenient location to the Seawall. It is a good value with decent sized rooms that have a partial ocean view, are clean kept, and have breakfast included in the price. The lobby is inviting with its aquarium, brightness, and cleanliness. I love the cucumber infused water kept handy by the elevator. The staff keep the breakfast stocked.and.the eating area clean. The AC works great during Texas summers. In general, I recommend this place.

We didn't get our room cleaned, which is possibly due to Covid changes, but even after requesting fresh towels for our 2nd day, we never received them. When you have 4 people, plus a baby, in a room, that's no good. The facilities could use some refreshing. For example, we had broken tile in our restroom. The breakfast could use some variety throughout the week. The description on Booking.com needs to differentiate ocean view from partial ocean view.

My maintenance request was handled quickly. The hotel and especially our room was very clean.

The air conditioning/heater unit was very noisy. This hotel is advertised as smoke free. The first room we were assigned smelled of previous smoking. We were quickly assigned another room which was acceptable however, I believe the first room should have been properly deodorized before it was assigned. The bottom line is that the housekeeping staff, while good at cleaning, needs to be trained to recognize and report faults in the rooms; ie, plumbing problems, lights that don't work, torn curtains, broken door latches, inoperative coffee makers, smoking scent, etc.

Loved the room with a balcony overlooking the Gulf. Even though it was hot in Texas, the breeze off the Gulf was very much welcomed. This trip was meant for the wife and I just to get away for the weekend, and to be alone, just the two of us. It was very relaxing. Given the chance, we would repeat the whole experience.

It was a busy weekend in Galveston, so the property was at or near full capacity, they offered breakfast in the dining room, which was very good, one of the two waffle makers was not working so needless to say there was a bit of a wait in line for a waffle (15 min.) Its not a perfect world!!! It was a little pricey but hey, its Galveston

Theft at Best Western!

What I didn't like about it was that my money was stolen. Housekeeping found my wallet, and they took pictures of the stuff that was in my wallet, and there were over 1500 dollars in it. They called me on the 17th, saying they found my wallet with the money. On Wednesday 19th the GM called me to say that the money was gone, but he was going to send me the wallet, and he was going to call the police to investigate. The police called me, and they assigned me a ditective with a case#. The GM said he was going to call booking.com so I could get my money reimbursed for my stay. So far, they haven't done it, and it's 8/1/23-
