Moody Gardens Hotel, Spa and Convention Center

Breakfast was good ... Spa was Excellent (a bit pricier) Room was quite pretty and our View of Islands & Schliterbahn water park was amazing. A plus was their Hotel Gym offered Free Yoga classes but I didn't know about it until After the fact. *****🔺I did like the Friendly Smiles of all the Valet ppl especially Randy who went above and beyond by taking our Luggage up to room then went to another floor to get ICE for our cooler WOOHOO THANKS RANDY🔺

I didnt like nor having extra towels as requested when I booked thru 3rd party site only to get to property and be told that Request Not Honored until you are assigner a room upon check in I did not like No Microwave was in my room. I did not like No Hotel Shuttle Bus to take me to local places nearby. I did not like no Blankets in closets

The location was perfect for visiting Moody Gardens attractions. Our rooms was very comfortable and roomy

the room was very nice and big we enjoyed the view as well.

so randomly our bathroom would start smelling like cigarettes'. and I got bit by bed bugs all over my ankles. My child got bit on her back. when we called about the cigarettes' smell they said all they could do was re clean the bathroom i told them it was okay and the kind ladies asked us if we needed anymore towels or if they could help us with anything else

Very comfortable bed, easy to control room temperatures. Well appointed bathroom. Not a lot of noise noticeable from adjoining rooms or corridor. Elevators all in working order. A lot of attractions are onsite.

If not careful you could use the two bottles of electrolyte water placed in the room and find out later they are $6 each. It did say $6 on the cap, but some might not notice. Restaurants are quite expensive , makes it more desirable to go and eat out . Having to pay for the attractions on top of the hotel charges. At keast one attraction shoul be included in te price in my opinion

I don't like that they automatically charge you 25% for tips. Your waitress don't even serve you when you buy a buffet but then they charge to and make you pay a 25% tip and the waitress don't deserve it.

Moody Gardens has the feel of an upscale hotel. It's the little touches, such as bringing a petite size jar of honey with your hot tea or croissants and wait staff who dress to impress and don't refer to guests as "you guys." We enjoyed eating in their first floor restaurant, and the food was good and reasonably priced. The large rooms are nicely decorated with wonderful king-size pillows and a comfortable mattress. We almost sleep better here than at home. All of the bathrooms have safety features, of grab bars, and a tub mat in the shower. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has a resort size swimming pool with a very large hot tub. Both were sparkling clean and well lit at night for safety. The hotel is centrally located and close to the Seawall, Pleasure Pier, and the Strand. Moody Gardens also has a variety of activities located next door... The aquarium is our favorite, but there are others too. We love their winter activities and the feeling that we are part of their family. This is our hotel of choice for every visit to Galveston.

The bathroom needs towel racks closer to the sink.

I booked this through booking.com. After booking I read more reviews, I started to get worried as many were not favorable. To our surprise, we did not experience any of the complaints that we read. The water was hot and good water pressure, the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was beautiful and clean. We would absolutely stay at this hotel again. The value for money paid was more than fair. (We stayed here the week before spring break). Oh, and the beds are above average (unlike some reviews stated.)

Kinda bummed that the breakfast buffet was only on weekends. From a management view I understand the cost versus guests would equal a ton of wasted food. There is the option to order from the table. I graded this super hard and somewhat selfish, but the breakfast buffet was that good.

The Moody Garden Hotel and Spa will be much better when I return during Off Peak Times. In my opinion, Off Peek months/days will be best to visit with adults. I attempted the swimming pool by 9:45 Saturday morning. Unfortunately, there were at least 45 children that had already taken over the swimming pool. It would really be nice if Moody Gardens invests in an Adult Pool only on a different side of the hotel. This being said, I will return, but again, the kids will be in school when I do.

That I couldn't enjoy the swimming pool. I opted for the beech instead. Again, this is my opinion only. I understand Moody Gardens is a family resort. However, I believe an (adult swimming pool only) is badly needed.

We liked that there was pretty much any and everything you needed there at the property and several things to do there.

Really the only complaint I have is that you can hear pretty much everything your neighbors are doing and if there’s a crying baby…. You get to hear that as well. Lol It was fine. Life happens and it’s to be expected. Also, it reminded me of dorm living between the hours of 6-8 am because everyone is up and moving around and definitely don’t think to be quiet for those who may be sleeping in…. But - there again - it’s kind of expected when you travel. Just be aware if you’re wanting something super quiet, this may not be the spot for you.

Breakfast: Great manager and great team. Restaurant hosts and both servers especially Brenda (waitress) were wonderful.

Pool: Some visitors with loud Personal Music Systems, vaping openly was uncomfortable, especially for families with kids. Lots of guests seemed to know a way into the pool without room key!
