The Alister is a great place to stay. We've been going to the beach every year for the past 6yrs and we've stayed at alister every year. Every year we've stayed in different rooms and all of them are always clean and fresh. Last year we stayed in a room with a mini- kitchen and it was perfect. This year we stayed in a smaller room. It was clean n fresh. This is also the first time we visited the continental breakfast as well. It was tastey. They had Texas-shaped waffles, fruit cups, bagels, cereals, milk, juice, pastries, and a coffee bar. The grounds are clean, pool area was clean. The staff are kind and courteous. The hotel is in the city center. Walking distance from the IGA, mobys, ice cream n candy shop. We give Alister 2 thumbs high. We highly recommend this hotel for those wanting a budget friendly beach stay.

This room we stayed in did not have comfy beds. The mattresses were very thin, you could feel the springs underneath the material they were wrapped in. Plus, the bed covers were also very thin. It was like covering with a thin curtain. The other rooms we stayed in in the past had very comfortable beds. That was only thing we didn't like. Everything else was great. Thank you

My family and I have stayed at this hotel during Thanksgiving weekend 3 years in a row. The hotel is clean... centrally-located... and an easy place to park my truck and small utility trailer as well as easy to get in and out of the parking lot... very affordably-priced... and even includes a decent breakfast which offers something for everyone in our family from the youngest grandkids to the oldest adults, and even for my always-healthy-eating wife (who is usually health-conscious about what she eats). The staff are friendly and helpful. There may be newer hotels, but we like the "feel" of this updated Port Aransas hotel... not to mention the deluxe rooms with kitchens (oven, big fridge, sink, counter)... and the BIG Suite at the front of the building with the balcony over-looking the main street was especially nice. The pool was warm/enjoyable in NOV and the hot tub was nice as well. We plan on returning during the July 4th weekend.

Everything ❤️ especially the attention to detail from the way the towels are folded in the room, to the fresh running water in the bird bath outside the office and live plants surrounding. Especially your amazing staff. These housekeepers are amazing. You need to hold on to them ❤️❤️

close to everything , pet friendly always stay here twice a year , friendly staff

room wasn’t cleaned for the whole time there , which I understand because of Covid but at least vacuum or leave one and check on us , had to take my own trash out , bought my own trash bags and get my towels from front desk person . I was told on last day I was supposed to put my towels out the door to have them replaced . I love this hotel but when pay suite price you should at least check on your guest . one other thing plastic over the front windows kind of ruined the suite , would of like to see out .

I traveled to Port Aransas with my partner and parents for a holiday. As they are a little elderly, I put in a request to have our rooms close together, and at least one on the ground floor. They were excellent with their communication and although couldn't get our rooms next to each other, we were only one room away, all on the ground floor, which was so helpful for us! We really appreciated that they did their best for us! The rooms were spacious and had kitchens which were stocked with everything we needed dish and cleaning wise, with a grocery store about 2 blocks away. The location is just a few minutes from the beach and we were always able to park right in front of our rooms. It made our holiday so much more relaxed not having to worry about where to eat morning, noon and night.

Not the fault of anyone but the walls and ceilings are a little on the thin side and unfortunately, we had some rather loud neighbors to the side and above us who liked to stay up late and get up early. So one might benefit from some earplugs just in case.

The Hotel is near restaurants, souvenir shops, etc. within walking distance. The accommodations were comfortable and spacious with a mini kitchen. Free wifi and parking. Staff was nice.

We had requested a ground floor room with kitchen and king bed and confirmed with hotel prior to arrival but were given keys to a 2nd floor room when we got there. The ground floor with the king beds were all occupied. But they had a ground floor with room same size with kitchen and 2 double beds. We were comfortable.

I had liked the location of the hotel and loved that I was able to find a lot of restaurants along the same street, along with the grocery store. Not to mention the staff was very accommodating, very friendly. When I claimed that my room got really cold, even at a comfortable temperature, they provided a thermal fleece blanket which really did the trick.

The bed was really hard, made my hips and back hurt some nights. First night I tried to cook something in the oven, it would always make the smoke alarm go off. The walls and ceiling were thin so I could hear neighbors, especially above me stomping, sounding as if they have lead feet. And as much as I respect the place being pet friendly, I couldn't stand the fleas that kept appearing even 2-3 days after maintenance came in and sprayed and housekeeping came and helped change the bedding. The first three things I could tolerate, but something more could be done with the fleas like spaying vinegar water everywhere or using a pet friendly fogger for fleas.

Room was larger than expected

Toilet immediately clogged. Young female guests were yelling till early morning . Floors looked clean but were sandy . No extra toilet paper or extra trash bags

clean room and linens, no pest issues, nice cold A/C, good breakfast selection, heated pool and hot tub, great location within walking distance to many places

thin walls - can hear everything your neighbor is doing. didn’t bother me that much as I’m a heavy sleeper but be wary if noise bothers you, especially late night partying and rambunctious kids.

Trying to watch tv was a frustrating disaster. Very difficult to operate channel search and could not get local channels or free views. All pay per view was pushed. I cannot stand Specturm’s operation. We were very dissatisfied with Tv service and did not watch it in evenings. The 1 dissatisfaction with Alister Square. Did not get a receipt at checkout.
