We loved this hotel! The rooms were big and the hotel itself was fresh and clean. The location was great, the city is well set up so we walked a lot. The breakfast wasn't warm but the options were great-I highly recommend.

The beds weren't as comfortable as I would have liked them to be, although they didn't seem to bother my kids or husband :)

Where do I start?! I can not say enough about this hotel! Typically, beach hotels are full of sand, moldy, mildewy, and dirty in my opinion. Not this hotel! 1. The pictures online are accurate. The hotel is not baiting you. I honestly thought the inside looked better in person. 2. Staff is super friendly!!! Feels like friends. The manager Scott is very helpful and knowledgeable about tourist activities. Ms Tammi is so warm and nurturing. My family just enjoyed her. 3. Hotel is very clean and smells FRESH. 4. Perfect location!!!!! A mile drive to the beach area. You are literally at the intersection to drive onto the Ferry to go to Rockport if you like. You can walk directly across the street to the gas station for various needs or to buy a beach parking pass. The golf cart rental place is next door. And oh BTW, the place to rent fishing or dolphin tours is directly across the street. We loved the dolphin tour. You can also walk across the street to a decent bar and restaurant. 5. The rooms have good sized fridge, microwave, and nice keurig. But from 6-9am daily they have a really nice continental breakfast. And the coffee was great. And a nice sitting area. 6. Two story hotel. Cozy and quaint. Perfect location. We will be back. I honestly did not love the port aransas beach itself. Here in early August the water is HOT and I was not a fan of the tar. I just felt really yucky in that water. But I think port aransas is a fun town and there are lots of other things to do besides the beach. So I definitely plan to come back and when I do, The Place is our place!!

There is nothing not to like

Nicest place we've stayed at this far when we come to Port Aransas each summer! Smells clean when you walk in. The rooms are spacious and have everything you need. The staff is super friendly and helpful. It's in a good location next to awesome restaurants and shops. It was great for what we paid! We'd definitely stay here again!

For being one of the nicer hotels, I was expecting a better breakfast. It does offer more than most. It has a fridge with milk, juices, and yogurt, toaster with bread and bagels, individual cereal options, oatmeal, muffins, pastries, fruit cups, and fresh fruit, but I don't see why it couldn't include a waffle maker and some kind of protein option. We stayed at a motel before that was cheap, smelled like smoke and mildew but their breakfast was amazing. Also, the ice machine is on the first floor and we stayed upstairs so it would be nice to have one upstairs but not a huge deal. The pillows were a little flat and lumpy. There were a few lamps in the room and one main overhead light just in the area where you first walk in but pretty dim so wouldn't be good for anyone needing to do work.

great location for the heart of Port A. Not a short walk to the beach, if that is what you expected - but walkable to food, coffee, parks, the channel and fisherman’s wharf. Spacious breakfast area, really friendly staff. Big rooms ! that was a surprise- had a King sized bed and a full pull out couch, table and 2 chairs.

I knew booking that there was not a pool/hot tub, which was fine. Our room didn’t have any scenic view, just the building in the parking lot, so little natural light. Our room had a strange odor (possibly from the previous guest?) but it wasn’t something to mention or fuss over.

We were involved in a 3 car wreck on the way to the ferry because someone ran their red light then fled the scene. When I called to ask if there was a place I could wait until check in saying why we had to remain due to the wreck they quickly replied they had heard about it and to come one in the room was ready. This allowed us to check in several hours early to have a place to lay down and recover from the accident while waiting for the rental office to open.

The continental breakfast was great but a full breakfast would be better even if just waffles for the kids.

This is the best place to stay if you have any kind of boat tour/ trip with Captain Kelly’s Deep-Sea Headquarters. It is directly across the street and a great place to eat, Fins, is next to it. The hotel was convenient to everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable, rooms were clean, temperature in room remained constant, and it was super quiet. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Port Aransas.

I have no complaints about the hotel.

Everyone was amazing. We had to swap rooms after the 1st night, 2 separate bookings, but the staff made it so easy. We were even able to check into our new room a little earlier than the standard check in time. Itwas so refreshing.

Breakfast time was a bit of a struggle. The cereal would be put out and all the "good stuff would get taken and it was hard to get a cereal I liked to eat. But that was such a small part of our overall stay it didnt affect our stay.

It's close to the ferry as well as the jetty which is where we chose to swim. Most visitors go to the labeled beaches and it's crowded, but we went to the jetty and the beach is just as good but not crowded at all. But as for the actual hotel, it was great for our purposes. The outside looks a little beaten by the weather but the inside is nice. A lot of colorful decoration and a nice layout. The rooms circle around the exterior leaving the center for the first floor dining area and open space above it instead of closing thar off for the second floor.

These were not dealbreakers for me but others might care. There is no elevator so you have to use the stairs to get to the second floor. I didn't mind but my wife got an expression on her face that had the desk clerk offering to see if there were any accommodations on the first floor. There were and we got checked in right away. The other issue that wasn't a dealbreaker for me is the breakfast provided. It is a simple offering of fruit, breakfast pastries, cereal (hot and cold), yogurt, juice, coffee, milk and bottled water. If you want anything more there are plenty of little restaurants within walking distance.

Breakfast was nice. Tub floor in room needs to be thoroughly cleaned as the bottom sides of toilet. Bathroom vanity needs a good dusting and polishing. Room needs more lighting.

Noise during the night, like 3am loud male conversation that sounded like it was from breakfast area. There is also a weird smell every time you enter the building. I have stayed here before and each time I notice it.

The room was clean and we were very comfortable. We had reservations on the Red Dragon across the street. That is the main reason for booking The Place. Convenience to the venue.

The outdoor access door near our room had no outside lock, nor the enter door. Anyone could access the property at any time. We informed the desk staff but it was not fixed when we left. Very unsafe!! Otherwise the facility was nice.
