The room was large enough to be considered a suite. Great location for walking to shops and restaurants etc. Well furnished, and comfortable.

We were out of the hotel most of the day, when we returned our room was not refreshed. I went down to the front desk to inquire and was told that they did not clean rooms unless requested, however we were not told this upfront. It is a real shame because they otherwise wouldA have received a 6 star rating.

The service was genuinely friendly and thoughtful and made us feel at home in an instant. The rooms are spacious yet cosy and have a lovely view. The communication was on point and we were given more than enough consideration.

While the restaurant was pretty yet the breakfast selection didnt meet my diatery restricrions. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to include more of a vegetarian take. Also, it would be nice if the ballroom was accessible. Otherwise nothing to worry about.

The location was perfect. The room was luxurious. The welcome was wonderful. There was valet parking available, which we found pricey. We were given options that were more affordable.

We did have trouble with the ac one night. We had complained earlier and they thought it was fixed. We could have moved rooms but chose not to and we were given a 50 % refund , which I think was reasonable. The staff was wonderful, especially Alfreda and Curtis or Chris. We were disappointed there was no bar or restaurant.

Amazing room to stay in, extremely comfortable bed, clean and nicely decorated, felt like I was transferred back in time. Staff was extremely friendly and available. Will definitely tell my friends to come and come back to stay myself.

I wish there were some additional amenities, such as a microwave and fridge. Those two items would have made my trip from exceptional to pure perfection. I would have loved if my phone also did not trick me and said there was room service

The room we had was much larger than average. Great furniture for sitting. Really liked the location of the hotel. Many restaurants nearby to choose from. Staff was consistently friendly.

Would have liked a small refrigerator in room. Hotel's website says that a fitness facility exists in partnership with a local YMCA. That appears to no longer exist. Should remove from your website.

I enjoyed my stay at The Berkeley -- the staff were probably the nicest and most helpful staff I've ever encountered, and I've traveled the globe, and the room was perfect (comfy bed, quiet, roomy, cozy, big bathroom, solid water pressure) -- but the hotel sits on an old, cobblestone street in Richmond's historic district. If you're cool with your car on streets like that, then have at it -- you'll love the place. But I cringed whenever I left the hotel and drove down E. Cary (1-way). You can, of course, ask to have your car brought from the garage and placed on 12th St, right around the corner, which I did after Day 1.

The cobblestones (but they're a part of the charm, so it's a catch-22). =^)

For starters; the bell hop was polite and friendly. Not sure what his name was, but he said that he just started working for the hotel a few weeks prior. Secondly, we loved the room 608. The room was spacious and comfortable. A bonus was the replica of the ancient Egyptian Fish God on the balcony! We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony in the evenings. The bed as comfortable and high! The walk in shower was spacious and excellent. All in all, it was a great stay.

The coffee maker did not work.

I loved the location and the atmosphere when entering the hotel.

I expected the room to be more updated considering the price per night especially when purchasing the “Deluxe” room. Poor lighting and old model TV. Also, continental breakfast should at least be labeled with allergens. I have a nut allergy and there were muffins mixed together and some contained nuts and some didn’t.

I love the beautiful chipendale old style. Like you are in an historic city. I’m sad I heard from the front desk associate that the histories look will be changing to the cookie cutter laminate more minalmslist look

I understand the upgrades planned will be easier to clean but it will not be reminiscent of the history of the city.

The Berkeley Hotel is a good example of old world charm. Our room was very spacious which made it comfortable with a loveseat and a couch. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Parking garage is 1 block away. Easy access to the Canal Walk and the James River. Restaurants are within walking distance.

The noise level was a bit high but it was New Year's Eve so it was not unexpected.
