Red Lion Hotel Port Angeles Harbor

The property is right on the water with private balconies. It was so fun watching otters every morning and evening. There is also a short trail to walk along the water edge. The restaurant on-site was very good and also offered water views. The shower was so hot and amazing! They have laundry facilities on-site that are convenient since we didn’t pack a lot of clothes. If you are whale watching, it is just a short walk to the dock.

The hot tub wasn’t hot but I don’t think there is much to be done about that since the temps are so cool there.

I had an online class for work and needed power for the laptop. We were way early for the room check in time. I explained my problem to the desk clerk and asked if she could help me out. She let us into the room several hours early. I was extremely grateful due to the online class being mandatory and having consequences if I missed it. I felt like the hotel gave exceptional customer service in helping solve my problem, which is sometimes a rare thing to find now days.

The chair at the room desk was to low for desk height and didn't seem to be able to be raised. It wasn't a deal breaker though.

The location is great, close to the ferry. The room size was excellent. The bathroom was good and it had an extra sink outside the sower/toilet area. It was generally quiet. This is in great contrast to a room I had here just five days ago. Really there are three levels of rooms. The sea view room is best. It is roomy, quiet, has carpet, and is entered by an interior hallway. The rooms in this building that face the parking lot is the second level. They have the emenities mentioned but they have an exterior wall that faces the parking lot which can be noisy. The third level, where I stayed previously, is the lowest level. These rooms are in another building on the other side of the parking lot, furthest from the sea. They have exterior doors, no carpet, and face the parking lot. The swimming pool is on this side. So the rooms can be very noisy.

There was a little noise coming from the room above.

The day we checked in there was a computer glitch with the cleaning crew and the front staff computers to determine when the rooms were clean at checkin at 4pm and there were lots of visitors checking in at the same time. The staff were courteous, polite, patient and did the best they could with the situation. I was really impressed with them and told the Red Lion staff they were doing a great job. There were a few hostile patrons that were not very understanding and taking out the frustrations on the staff

Our visit was during some remodeling so there was some dust and workers throughout but overall the hotel is great and location was perfect for everything we did and we loved our view on the balcony every night. There’s an amazing walking path immediately outside and the Wharf pier was so close in proximity.

Great location. The long trail right next to the hotel was an added bonus. Staffs were accommodative with our upgrade request. The room was spacious with reasonable amenities available. Restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops all are within walking distance. Nearby attractions (e.g. Hoh rainforest) are within day-trip distance as well

The property seems to be in the middle of a renovation/upgrade/remodel project work (during our stay) and thus there were bit of inconvenience. However this is not necessarily a down-side. As a matter of fact a return trip after all of this is over will be an interesting proposition

I love that it's right next to the festival when we go there.

No sitting chair in the room. Just the desk chair. Bathtub had a lot of hair in it, and it seemed unclean. It also didn't drain quickly so you stood in water while showering. I upgraded before we arrived, and I felt that it was a rotten deal. No chair, no deck, a hefty price for a Friday and Saturday. I've stayed there many times before during the crab fest so I am comparing. The hinge came off our door to the room the first time we opened it, then it wouldn't close but it was fixed proper and right away after we called the front desk. IDK...I might look for more price conscious if prices are like that next year for a basic no thrills room.

We had a room with a view of the water. Excellent!

The way the check-in building is at the far end of the l-o-n-g parking lot, it's a very long walk from the buildings with the rooms. Parking at the building is at a premium so you almost have to walk if you need to get there.

Location, spacious rooms, great refrigerator, high end toilettes.

A lot of other room noise, parking bc of the great location a lot of people park in the hotel area, the parking permits were not enforced. Staff was ok nothing special. I was under the impression when I booked every room was water front for the high price of this hotel, and this is not the case.

Great location, super cozy, remodeled looking rooms, clean, comfortable bed, great place to stay on Halloween! The whole town, including businesses, had set up trick or treating booths for kids in the little downtown. Very busy and fun.

It was loud at night, we didn't have a fan for white noise but I downloaded an app and played white noise which helped. The fire alarm did go off in the middle of the night, and it took a while for it to be shut off.

Price of room was exceptional. Love that we are able to bring our dogs when we visit my parents and there is easy access to the grass/hollywood beach.

There were 2 staff members working when I went to check in. One got pulled off to go check if a room was clean leaving the other worker alone to check in 4 people. The wait was a little long but I understood and the woman who helped me was very nice. Also if there's any way to monitor the traffic that happens in the park area of hollywood beach it does seem like there's homeless/drug activity that is unsettling for me as a guest.
