Stunning hotel, beautifully decorated, comfortable room

Staff weren't the sharpest - we mentioned on check in that the number registered to the booking (my cell) wasn't working in the US (we don't know why as I have a US usage add on for my phone plan) yet received multiple delayed messages and voicemails to the number once we were back in Canada. Their website also promised a $25 light rail giftcard, $30 credit at the rooftop bar, and $15 breakfast credit - which the staff refused to honor when we enquired about, despite having screenshots from the site. Rooms were a little on the shabby side with peeling wallpaper in corners and a musty smell in the closet. Elevators were so slow that there was a near-constant queue in the lobby, we ended up taking the stairs all but once.

The room was lovely and very clean, the staff were friendly, the hotel is only about 2 mins from the train station which was very convenient. No kettle provided but when I asked for one they sent one up

$5 each for the two bottles of water left in the room and the room looked out onto a building site. Not much they could do about that but it did detract from my enjoyment

I loved the old style hotel and how spacious our room was. it was close to the University arena that we needed to go. They provided a pack n play for our toddler. We were pretty much the only family in the hotel with a small child. The staff were incredibly helpful and the food from the Mountaineer Restaurant was very tasty. We stayed on the 5th floor. The art and style of the hotel was so fun! Would love to come back and stay here on a child free vacation. 😁

For convenience we did valet parking though it was $42 per night, felt a bit on the expensive side.

The view. The mountaineering club. The location.

We could hear the person next door as if they were in our room! We could hear them in the toilet, snoring, and when they were on the phone. Paper thin walls. The hotel didn’t have available Electric vehicle chargers because the students apparently take the spots and apparently it is too much of a hassle to tow the cars. We had to drive around and find a spot to charge our vehicle and then walk back to our hotel. The hotel should tow the cars.

Great location, close to subway, close to restaurants, close to university campus and museums. Plus, coffee shop at the entrance and bar on the roof, with great views!

Needs a little more attention to details. Towel hanger broken, we had to bing in the room a small refrigerator we found on the hall after we asked staff they were surprised there wasn’t one already in the room, but no one volunteered to fix this… little things like that. We run out of shampoo day 3 and we’re able to get some day 5, the reception gave us soap bars instead (the person to refill shampoo was out!). They were nice people overall, and we felt good, but it needs a bit more “human resources” to operate.

In total very nice facility- especially the roof top bar. Also good public transportation connection to the city center.

Room service was ok, but not as expected for the money. Two nights the bed wasn’t made. Coffee & water weren’t filled up every day. Toilet paper wasn’t refilled. All not major things to complain about, but all of it would need improvement to value the money spent.

I stayed at a big, comfortable room. The furniture is orginal and different than other hotels.

I had a problem with the charge to my card. Unfortunately the front desk employee working this day was out able to help me at all. I left mid conversation because he was rather rude. This was the only timeI encountered someone not being absolutely amazing and super helpful. The rest of the staff is incredible.

Great location in the university district. Fantastic rooftop bar with excellent drinks and great views, and great staff at the bar. A woman receptionist kindly gave me the code for using the toilet on the first floor. Another guest, who used that toilet, had been unwilling to tell me its location.

In the evening, the reception staff was not extremely helpful for a friend of mine, whose flight had been cancelled on short notice, and who, therefore, needed a room for one night. The reception staff offered a rate much higher than what was available on the internet at that moment (and much higher than what I had paid). I was taken aback by the attitude.

Nice decorations of the main lobby, large and comfortable rooms, and great location. Very close to the UW campus! And a special bonus their Mountaineering club on the top floor is beyond amazing for evening activities and celebrations!

It was extremely hot in the rooms and no way of controlling the temperature because the heating is pretty much central. Huge construction projects around the building with a lot of notice and extremely problematic parking. Parking was difficult and felt unsafe. While it's good to have a cafeteria in the facility, the food options were pretty limited and mostly gone by 9 am.

Great view. Lots of stores and great restaurants within a few blocks. A coffee shop right there in the lobby. Ravenna Park is nearby at the north end of Brooklyn Ave. and is definitely one of the crown jewels of the Seattle parks system.

The rooms need a spacer at the bottom of the doorways between connected rooms to help diminish the amount of noise that carries between them. You will probably want to set a rolled up towel there during your stay so you and your neighbor aren't hearing each other constantly.
