This resort far exceeded our expectations on every level. The staff were always very friendly and attentive. Our room was fabulous, nothing better than seeing the ocean from an amazingly comfortable bed. The food was definitely a highlight, starting with the most extensive breakfast menu we have ever encountered. It was always beautifully presented, fresh, and delicious. We had room service, which in a lot of hotels is usually luke warm, ours was hot and tasty. We had two dinners out by the waterside, both of which were outstanding. They also offer free kayaks, snorkelling equipment, bicycles, and helmets, a massive clean swimming pool with all sorts of floatation toys, etc. We will definitely return to this hotel in the future, and I will have no hesitation in recommending this resort to all of my friends and family. A must do for a tranquil relaxing holiday.

We went as a family with a four year old. The place was perfectly set up to enjoy the pool and the beach with a delicious in house restaurant. The pool came with pool toys available for anyone to use and there was plenty of seating around the pool. The rooms are a very generous size with bottles of water dropped to your door daily. We stayed for four nights and later in our trip around Vietnam we returned another four nights as we had such a good time. The staff are excellent especially Quan who our daughter adored and would run to give a hug every time we saw her in the restaurant. There is a bar onsite but we couldn't hear any of the music in our poolside room (127) which is on the other side of the property. Instead of using the inhouse laundry I contacted a local launderette via google maps (Laundry P Ganh Dau) that did a 24hr pick up and drop off, it was VND50,000 per kilo. It is near enough to the Bee Farm (free entry, wonderful coffee and fruit juices with honey as well as great products) if you wish to visit something on the island and about an hour from the airport.

It would have been great if there was something over the shallow end of the pool to shade from the sun so that the kids could play without as much sun exposure.

Absolutely perfect resort. The food was absolutely phenomenal and had so many different options that you could have something new for every single meal. The drinks were also very tasty and fun! The setting was out of this world and was the most peaceful resort I’ve ever been to. It was so fun to use the snorkel equipment and kayaks around the property! We saw so many beautiful fish and coral and spent many hours reading on the beach. It was absolutely perfect and I would have stayed for so much longer if I had the time! The staff was also so helpful and kind they really made the stay that much more enjoyable. This was a perfect spot for any age or sized group. The pool was also super nice for when it was a bit too windy to swim in the ocean.

This is the best looking/well-maintained hotel on this stretch of the beach/bay, more classy. We had such a relaxing time here. Not many restaurants in the nearby town so we ended up having dinner at the hotel every night. Food presentation is very good, must try the spicy grilled squid here! The breakfast is semi-buffet, you order your mains from a list they give you, you can have both Western and Vietnamese. Only 2 selections of breads but it is adequate for us and laid out on the buffet table including fruits, cereal, drinks and waffles. We loved the relaxed atmosphere esp their different types of lounge chairs by the beach with enough hammocks and swings.

The housekeeping could clean the floor a little better (I found a bit of blond hair on the floor which is def not mine) but this is very minor compared to what we got for what we paid for.

We had a FANTASTIC stay here! A pristine little beach with gorgeous calm seawater in front of you and a stunning tropical rainforest backdrop behind you. Plenty of relaxing sun loungers and hammocks in the sun and shade, and beautiful water walkways to appreciate the scenery from all angles. I'm not sure I've ever been to a more picturesque beach! The hotel itself is also wonderful. Huge, lovely rooms. Helpful staff. Delicious and very reasonably priced restaurant with a wonderful breakfast and happy hour in the evening on their excellent cocktails. The hotel also had free kayaks and bikes and a free boat tour to Starfish Beach when we were there (very cool, though it was upsetting how many tourists were killing the starfish by touching them and picking them up out of the water, just to take a photo... please don't do that if you go!) We did a lot of research before booking Gold Coast and we could not be happier with our choice... it's an awesome, secluded resort that is perfect for a few days enjoying amazing food, drinks, and relaxing beaches!

Nothing- it was perfect!

We arrived into Phu Quoc by ferry…took the excellent free bus up to Wonderworld…and wondered what planet we had arrived on! Venice in Vietnam and lots of monstrous resorts en route. So we were so pleased to arrive at Gold Coast…surely one of the best places to stay on Phu Quoc. Very laid back resort…in a lovely location 15 minutes walk from a lively fishing village. Help yourself to bikes and kayaks etc. Nice beech, great pool. Well priced beers etc. Wonderful staff.

Laid back certainly…and the service was sometimes a bit too laid back!! But work around it…eg order beers in an ice bucket…so you only have to order once!!

This was the most expensive of the 6 locations we stayed at on the island. Probably 40% up on similar locations but also 40% or more better. Great, quiet location and beach. Rooms were large, well equiped and modern. Pool was newish but a dated design. Food was pretty good and nice efficient staff

Being picky but green light flashing on the ceiling above bed was very annoying. We found it strange to walk across sand to sit in the outside restaurant areas Overall there is not much to dislike at this resort although for some reason we didnt feel the love. It is good value for money but the atmosphere was more holiday park than resort

We had a lovely stay at this apartment. The beach was beautiful, and the bungalow was spacious and comfortable. The location was relatively quiet, providing a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle. We particularly enjoyed the delicious breakfasts. Great staff. Sea is nice and clean. But do not look on next beach - it is really dirty with trash.

The location is a bit removed from the city center, requiring walking or a motorbike to get around. The local restaurant was of average quality. We found that nearby restaurants in the city offered a more diverse and authentic dining experience. We occasionally encountered difficulties in getting a taxi. The presence of stones in the sea may be not enjoyable especially for first-time visitors, it can be an unpleasant experience.

Very tasteful food in the restaurant for reasonable price. Breakfast was also good, not too diverse but enough for us. Here you can rent a bike, a kayak and some snorkeling/swimming stuff for free. Hotel is just by the sea so moving around it is very easy. Beach was nice, it looks natural and not many people here even during high season. Friendly staff who were doing their best to help us and make feel comfortable despite language barriers.

Need to be careful when swimming in the sea due to corals on the bottom. During stormy weather it is hard to see them from above water so mind your step. Location is quite far away from many interesting sights. Probably this is the cost of exceptional atmosphere.

This is a lovely little resort by the sea where we found everything that we needed: quaint little bungalows aligned along pretty alleys lined with gorgeous plants, a big pool with sunbeds and all sorts of toys for kids, hammocks under coconut trees, sunbeds by the sea. The rooms are spatious and clean, the bathrooms huge. The place never seems crowded so it is peaceful and relaxing. They have free bikes - which we took to go into the nearby village - and also canoes. They even organise free boat trips every fee days. The restaurant is huge with a lot of tables on the beach itself or in gazeboes by the sea. The food is quite good for a resort restaurant, a bit on the pricey side though not exaggeratedly. The breakfast is delicious and there's a steady supply of fruits. Also, the staff is absolutely wonderful - they go out of their way to accommodate all guests' wishes.

Right next to this place, there's an abandoned beach that's covered in rubbish and looks disgusting. When there is a high tide or simply a more agitated sea, the occasional bit of plastic might get washed away on the resort beach, too. They strive to keep their beach and water clean, but it's a neverending battle if they don't do something about that place. Also, their beach is tiny and it almost disappears with the high tide. But they do have sunbeds under the palm trees and a gorgeous pool area. One last thing that could be annoying if you let it: the English spoken by the staff is barely understandable so it may be an issue if you're picky or you have very specific requests. And the restaurant service is also really slow. But we could easily ignore these things.
