Briarwood Bed & Breakfast

The breakfast was excellent, served by the cheerful and delightful Dorothy. The rooms were extremely nice, and being able to go sit in the sun parlour or the living room to read, or wander around the beautiful grounds, was so relaxing. It is about 12 minutes from the airport, on the other side from Halifax. the drive to the airport was fast and easy. One thing, Miller road is the small road just before the lights, not the turn at the lights. It's easy to miss the first time around, maybe that will help someone. :)

The property is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. The owner of the establishment, Con was incredibly welcoming and showed me around the house upon arrival and recommended a local restaurant (Bitars) for dinner, which was delightful. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Con prepared a delicious breakfast for me of eggs, bacon, toast, coffee, juice, pastries, fruit, and yoghurt. The B&B is in a great location if you need to stay overnight near Halifax airport. It was a few minutes' drive away. However, once you're at the B&B, you would never realise you're close to the airport as it's in a very tranquil setting. I would most definitely stay at this property again.

Wish we could have stayed here longer. This property is lovely and the owner/staff was very thoughtful. Access to several lovely public areas. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Close to Halifax International airport which was important to us for very early morning departure for early flight. Owner/staff put together a nice bagged breakfast in the refrigerator for us to grab before early morning departure to airport, including a large apple that my husband Ron was admiring the night before, lol. Thank you!

Our room was better priced because it didn't have a private bathroom, instead the bathroom was in a nice hallway. I was fine with it but my husband didn't like having to walk into a hallway to pee in middle of night. But the property provides nice bathrobes in the room so if you're ok with that (as I was) it's not a big deal. I'd go there again and rent a different room that does provide a private bathroom for my husband in future.

We do not like to leave shoes at the entrance As we had a lot of luggage we found the room cramped. It could be more useful for travellers without wide chair and large bureau. One or even two luggage holders would help No air conditioning and the room was very warm due to outside temperature Only one time 8:30 am for breakfast Unfortunately could not return before departure as no availability. Book early is advised

Classic country home. Our room was a beautifully decorated suite with a big comfortable bed. Lots of choices on the TV as well. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and served in a beautiful dining room. There is a lovely patio outside. Very friendly owners.

Lugging large suitcases through the house to get to the room is a bit of a challenge. Breakfast hours are a bit limited (7:30 to 9:00).

Briarwood is such a gem! The owners and staff were lovely, and the breakfast was beyond expectations. Although situated in the middle of a town, the property wonderfully feels miles away from anything. It's expansive, peaceful, and a place to which we will return the next time we're in Canada.

Very comfortable bed. Excellent bathroom. Great range of rooms and garden terrace to relax in. Host stayed up late when our flight from Boston was delayed. Hosts and staff could not have been more helpful with advice about places to visit. Enjoyed sharing travel experiences with fellow guests over breakfast table.

Location was useful, quite near Halifax airport. Breakfast was excellent. The old house was a beautiful building, and splendidly furnished.

It was the most expensive B&B/hotel of our entire holiday. Accommodation prices seemed to have increased significantly, and this was just too much to pay for a night's sleep, however nice the place.

The house is an venerable and gorgeous estate. The house and rooms are furnished with antique quality furniture and fixtures. The breakfast was sumptuous. The owners/hosts were very friendly and helpful. .

Minor annoyance: We couldn't figure out the TV controls. We did not ask for help, just turned it off and read.

LOVED this stay! I usually utilize the airports directly on the airports property but this time I went out my comfort zone and I’m so glad I did! It was a convenient 10 minute Uber away and the accommodations were just darling! The owner waited for my arrival despite flight delays and was kind enough to even give me a house tour despite the late hours. 10/10 recommend will be staying again!
