Hotel Halifax

Location and amenities were good. Easy access to public transport to venture the city with many well-connected routes as well as an hourly route to the airport and multiple routes to Dartmouth. Next door, Scotia Square offers a food court and various stores for amenities that may be desired during the trip.

Nearby construction made for some undesired early wake ups and a slight required detour due to a large area being cordoned off for works. This would not prevent me from staying again if works are still ongoing as the positives and value for money vastly outweigh such a minor inconvenience

The hotel room felt dated, but it had the basics. The telephone was a trial and error service, i had to go down to reception at times to check on laundry because the phone was not working. I felt the location was perfect for me and my family as it was located around all the things we needed. The beds were good. Service with a smile was a staple with everyone in the staff. I will definitely recommend Hotel Halifax w to anyone who visits Halifax and i too will stay here next time

Phones should be upgraded. As mentioned before, rooms felt dated. A revamp would be nice.

We had the best time and visit. My partner was quite impressed I picked this great place. We loved the ambiance of the hotel and that it had that nostalgic feel. We were impressed how big the elevators were. The beds were super comfy, clean and we loved sitting out on the balcony, which was beautiful. The location was great for where we wanted to go which was quite convenient. We enjoyed the views from the skywalks (my partner calls them) to the casino. We would definitely recommend and will return again next year. Halifax is a beautiful city. PS: The Restaurant there in the hotel was to die for... See ya next year

4 night stay, Staff was amazing. Made our stay so enjoyable. Location was great for walking to restaurants, entertainment, wharf and casino (across the street). Beds and pillows were wonderful, nice and soft, great sleeping. Large tv, many channels, large room 2 beds and clean. We had a small balcony overlooking the Halifax harbour. So nice to sit and have a drink or just get the fresh air. Breakfasts were great and the restaurant staff was the best we have ever had. Our waitress "Serena" was amazing, remembers exactly what we liked from the first day. Had our morning coffee ready to bring back to our room before coming down for breakfast. Never rushed and always felt welcome by all. I was decaf and never a problem, always had the pot ready. This hotel is attached to the Scotia Bank mall so many stores and the liquor store to shop, if you had time. We ended up staying an extra night before heading home and they were so accommodating. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stay was too short.

The location is very convenient! The tv was big and the room in general was good! Cleaners were polite and smiled at us.

My wife is pregnant and had to go to the bathroom urgently when we arrived. Initially, i asked the receptionist - too seeious and not a welcoming guy. He ignored me when I asked him if she could use the bathroom (it was not working due to a city water problem). He was checking in with another customer. My wife had to step up and ask him with some drama. Then, another receptionist allowed us Receptionists were helpful in general. The parking cost us 24$ per day. Specifically, we selected hotels with parking included when picked htel from booking.com , and this also left a bitter feeling.

It's a large, well-run hotel with many amenities. My kid really liked both the pool (which was in a warmed room, a really nice touch) and the XBox games room. Also has a sauna (although it's on a timer and so really can't be enjoyed unless you know about it in advance). Breakfast was a delicious buffet, and parking was great (right next to the front door), but neither of these were included in the price. Nice location to explore Halifax from.

Very pricey, especially once you add in the parking fee and breakfast. Also, was initially a bit hard to find by car, given the maze of one-way streets and construction.

Beds were really comfy, I liked that we had a balcony (2 x double room with harbour view), and the fridge in the room was really handy. We called down to reception to ask for some wine glasses, and they were brought up within 15 mins. I loved that the TV had chromecast which meant we could listen to music whilst getting ready to go out, as well as our own shows. Staff are really friendly.

The nightly cost was high, especially as they also take a 150$ deposit too...but we did stay on a Saturday night which was also Canada Day. The pool was really limited to be used as it was filled constantly with kids, and the gym is quite small.

Room was very clean. I really appreciated the card left in the room for those of us who are light sleepers - it definitely helped me get better sleep. I also liked the view into the city from the room.

The shampoo/conditioner/etc bottles in the bathroom were a little hard to squeeze. The room I was given was also too close to the elevators so I could hear the elevator and people coming in and out. I could also hear a leak in the toilet. It was a decent room, but not worth how much I paid. Also, the towels felt like sandpaper.

Location to downtown was in perfect walking distance to the boardwalk, and points of interest. Lots of history. The staff was excellent and very helpful. Very nice hotel enjoyed our stay and will book again next time we come back.

The parade was confusing. Not very good signage, not from a city and not used to using them. The restaurants food is good but on our last night (Saturday of long weekend) one hour before closing was turned away by a waitress because they ran out of food. There was 2 in my party and 3 in another.

Kathy went above and beyond to help, accommodate and understand my preferences. The hotel is located so centrally and bus drops right in front when you come from airport. the harbor is right there... Food court is right there too.. Forget these other international brands, the hospitality here is so warm and welcoming, that you feel like a family! There are water refill stations one each floor, can you beat that?!

the bed was not so great for me, but that can be subjective. The view too was not very great
