This size of the room was excellent. It was clean, the bed and pillows were excellent. Coffee was excellent with many options. Thank you

No counter space in the bathroom. I had no place to put my toiletries. Very upsetting. The water was warm, not hot for showering or cold for drinking. The movies were very expensive so we watched tv instead. View would have been nice if they matched the lamps (beautiful) to the court yard décor (which was absent). I little would have gone a long way. Love the historic building, its a shame that it was over modernized instead of leaning into it's history. Main reason for coming was the upstairs breakfast room (which still had some of the history in the architecture) but we were sad to learn it was not open on weekends. We thoroughly enjoyed it last time. .

The room was very quiet, clean and spacious. Once the air con was set to my liking, it was great for sleeping. There was a king sized bed which was very comfortable. Bathroom was very clean and spacious. Staff was so very helpful and friendly. Housekeeping couldn't have been more attentive. Much appreciated.

My only dislike was when the fire alarm went off at midnight when someone from a wedding reception pulled the fire alarm for "fun". Not the hotel's fault...just the stupidity of someone needing to get attention. Secondly, one had to turn the shower on 5 - 8 minutes before using it to make sure the water would be hot.

Just this past week I found myself adventuring to a very unknown destination... Kitchener! Hah. Now what is a nice girl like me going to find intriguing in this town? For my birthday I was given a choice of anywhere to stay and I just happened upon a JDV by Hyatt “The Walper Hotel”. Excellent from the moment I arrived. Gorgeous Fall day, centrally located and Ms. Shivani greeted us with a very warm personality and smile. I had requested a quiet sexy room for my 60th and could not have been more surprised. We were personally taken care of by all of the staff... including 2 bonus glasses of champagne after our “out of this world dinner” at TWH Social Bar I Bistro. Delightful, cozy atmosphere and even lively on a Thursday night. We enjoyed Grilled Octopus to perfection, mouth-watering Market Fresh spicy Oysters from PEI, and a roasted Apple, Celery and Maple “melt in your mouth” hearty soup. Our server Miro certainly knew which order we needed to savour all our wonderful choices, including a Watercress Pear & Blue Cheese salad. Excellent suggestions for the palate. Then the next day I was even more impressed by Mr. Jared Traplin, a recently promoted Front Desk Supervisor. What a winning combination of funky style, with a mischievous grin. He is a refreshing, professional representation of the entire hotel. We will definitely be back if we are ever heading south of Muskoka in the near future. Or gee, maybe we will just go out of our way to return. Bravo to the entire team at The Walper Hotel. Digging The Walper Hotel Muskoka Watercolours, Illustrations by Ann www.illustrationsbyann.com

Room was really nice loved the decor and extra windows Staff was friendly and professional Also helpful I.e.offered an umbrella without me asking Excellent service and made me feel very welcome

Found some hair in the bathroom that was definitely not mine Also didn’t like how loudly the entrance room doors closed, heard others around me come and go, no option to turn the handle for a quieter close to respect others Parking garage included some sketchy men “hanging around”, I felt very unsafe and scared walking alone, I know it’s public green P parking but any other parking option for the hotel?

The whole place is so artistic. I took a lot of pictures. The decor at the reception was exceptional.

I think the hotel should provide enough drinking water in the rooms. Although tap water is potable in Canada, but for some reason, we did not quite adjust to its taste there. More water bottles would have helped.

Staff were helpful and the rooms were well laid out. Good location in Kitchener. I liked the large amenities rather than disposal individual bottles. Room was serviced daily and well. The Social was a great restaurant - staff were amazing looking after our group of ten. Food was very very good.

Could have had more staff working the breakfast room as there was only one person on. Breakfast and coffees were slow.

The Breakfast was fantastic. The room was really spacious and comfortable. It was good value for money.

The accessibility to the hotel is a little tricky. It is situated right next to an intersection and since the hotel has no parking, you are left to figure out where to pull up so you can walk up to the front desk and ask where to park

Front desk staff very friendly and engaging Very clean, comfy rooms - multiple pillows on bed, bottled water, Illy coffee machine and lots of coffee and tea (4 of each) Valet and self parking close and convenient Nice shower - rain head and a handheld wand. Solid water pressure Hotel opened 1898 - extensive renos, super modern. Love how they preserved much of the original tile floor in lobby and in bathrooms

Not the hotel's fault, but it's right downtown in a decayed neighborhood. Limited hotel parking - I was fortunate to have a space in their valet lot.

Staff were great and very friendly. Location is super convenient. The gym downstairs was nice too, not too busy. We also enjoyed the daily breakfasts

Housekeeping could have been more regular - at least to empty the rubbish.

The location was nice and the facilities at the hotel were great. The room was well laid out and had good amenities.

The property itself was great, however we were bumped down from a King room to a Queen room due to overbooking, which was disappointing but the room was still very nice.
